Description

DESCRIZIONE dell’invenzione avente per TITOLO: “ Strumento per l’apprendimento matematico”, DESCRIPTION of the invention with TITLE: "Mathematical learning tool",

In the invention, in a concrete way even for the youngest children, there is also zero, internalized in its place, in its nature, in its positional, lexical and semantic value, in one-to-one correspondence, in stable order.

To create a mental image of the properties of numbers that serve to develop numerical intelligence, in kindergarten separate tools are used which from time to time are dedicated to lexicon, semantics, cardinality, stable order, one-to-one correspondence, to the positional value, using sound, sensory, visual experiences, but not all of this together.

To date, some of the most used tools in kindergarten are the section calendars, which never count starting from zero, the hands, which do not transmit a positional value or the symbolic referent of the numerical quantity; the abacus, who are dedicated to vocabulary and semantics; puzzles, which favor stable order and vocabulary; dominoes, in which there is no possibility of actually counting collections of numbers; le conte, or a recited phonological sequence, which remain devoid of a one-to-one correspondence, of a visual positional value since for younger children the number-words have no semantic referent of quantity, the new instrument of Bortolato, which however excludes zero, the Montessori pearl bars, rigid and small, not suitable for the hands of small or difficult children, which also start from number 1.

Thanks to the invention, already in preschool age (3-4-5 years) a mental image of the number line is created that incorporates all the aforementioned properties in a concrete and playful way using a multisensory approach: sight, touch, hearing. The invention consists of a line that can be made of wood or other suitable material (fig. 1) in which there are numbers from 0 to 10 (2) - or other numbers deemed appropriate for the age of the users - equidistant from each other. Under each number there is a necklace of objects suitable for counting, such as pearls (4) in a number equal to the symbol they represent, not attached to each other, but suitably spaced, (3) in order to create the best image of the quantity. The spacer (3) is not rigid, and allows the pearls to move like in a necklace. According to a preferred embodiment, the distance is greater than 15 mm, preferably 30 mm, and in any case not greater than 55 mm, in such a way as to make the child grasp the pearl or other material suitable for counting with his hand.

This distance allows the very young child or child with difficulty to hold a single ball in his hand at a time, thus greatly facilitating the count.

Since a huge part of the cerebral cortex responsible for movement and sensory capacity is connected to the hands that shape our cognitive development, the distance between the balls of this invention greatly increases the effectiveness of learning itself.

Feeling only one pearl in your hand at a time and naming the corresponding number, one per vote, is the most suitable for a small or difficult child.

The technical problem to be solved is to allow the small or difficult child to count better: feeling each pearl inside the hand, individually, it will be easier to correctly count the quantity of each string of pearls, which is then reported in Arabic numbers. on top of each of them. Consequently, the possibility of error is also reduced, and this facilitates and speeds up the correct learning of the number line.

The invention can be multicolored or monochromatic. No pearls or similar descend from number zero.

As regards the other numbers positioned on the invention, the important thing is that if each number written in the line (2) is of a different color, it must have a thread that goes under it with objects suitable for counting of the same color (4) . found them can be hung on the wall of the classroom, at child's height.

The invention hanging on the wall of the classroom, as it becomes a game that invites children to be touched and counted, unlike the counting of collections of other objects, immediately gives the acquisition of all the properties of the numbers that will be studied later.

Più si va verso destra e più la quantità aumenta: Fig. 1 Moreover, thanks to its conformation, the SNARC (spatial-numerical association of response codes), confirmed by hundreds of scientific studies, can develop the SNARC (spatial-numerical association of response codes), which describes the association between numbers and space in human reasoning . The further you go to the right, the more the quantity increases: Fig. 1

il bambino, davanti allo strumento, ha subito la percezione del numero più grande e di quello più piccolo, dire che 6 è più grande di 5 non è più difficile perché lo tocca, lo conta e lo vede in maniera evidente grazie anche al distanziatore (3), che rende le grandezze più comparabili agli occhi dei bambini. the child, in front of the instrument, has undergone the perception of the largest and smallest number, saying that 6 is larger than 5 is no longer difficult because he touches it, counts it and sees it clearly thanks to the spacer ( 3), which makes the sizes more comparable in the eyes of children.

Faced with the only finding and without further aids, preschool children are able to overcome the difficulties that emerged from the administration of the following tests: writing Arabic numbers, enumerating back and forth, reading numbers in Arabic code, name-number correspondence, comparison of Arabic numbers, number-quantity correspondence, seriation of Arabic numbers. All in a clear and correct way. Even children with difficulties in learning numbers and their properties in primary school, can draw support and benefit from using this invention in the classroom.

The invention is of simple industrial construction, its production cost would be low.
