Il flussostato (1) comprende un primo (13) ed un secondo (14) elemento tubolare coassiali. All'interno del secondo (14) è posto un elemento scorrevole (15) di materiale plastico. La posizione dell'elemento scorrevole (15) lungo il secondo elemento tubolare (14), che è funzione della portata istantanea che attraversa il flussostato (1), è rilevata da un dispositivo a raggi infrarossi (4). Il flussostato (1) risulta esente da bloccaggi poichè il materiale dell'elemento scorrevole (15) presenta scarsa aderenza ad eventuali particelle solide presenti nel fluido che lo attraversa.
