Il contenitore comprende un pallet di base (4), su cui è impilata almeno un'unità di contenimento (6), che include un piano di fondo (8) ed una parete laterale (10) sostanzialmente rettangolare, poggiante sul piano di fondo (8) e formata da due coppie di lati (12, 14) contrapposti ed uniti per le estremità adiacenti da rispettive cerniere angolari (16). La parete laterale (10) presenta almeno un'apertura (24) di aerazione e mezzi (22) atti a consentire il suo posizionamento rispetto al piano di fondo (8). L'unità di contenimento (6) presenta inoltre mezzi (22) atti a consentire il suo impilamento sul pallet (4) o sull'unità di contenimento (6) sottostante.
