Description
OF THE INDUSTRIAL INVENTION TITLE Balancing system of the rotating inertia forces generated by the maldistribution of clothes in a washing machine
General description of the field of intervention of the invention.
It is known that washing machines during the spinning phase often vibrate even heavily, even often moving the washing machine from the initial position, and also producing a loud noise, and this due to the non-uniform arrangement of the laundry inside the drum , which produces a rotating force system. This rotating system of forces, however, decreases in intensity as the laundry expels the water due to the centrifugation itself, possibly changing due to the different absorption characteristics of the individual items.
Now these vibrations force on the one hand to weigh down the washing machine itself with additional masses, on the other hand to reduce the diameter of the basket so that the tub that contains it does not hit the external structure, being connected to it by means of a spring system. shock absorber. But the limitation of the diameter of the drum is considered a negative element, as it reduces the amount of washable laundry per cycle.
Apart from this, the new discounted rates for the night use of household appliances provide a further stimulus in reducing / canceling the vibrations themselves. The purpose of the present invention is therefore a system that allows to reduce to a minimum if not completely cancel the vibrations themselves. In particular, a previous patent application CS2010A000011 by the author related to a system based on the use of shafts with eccentric masses whose radius could be varied. However, this system had the defect of requiring too extensive a variation of the current architecture of a washing machine, and it was decided to propose a new one that achieves the same effect with minor structural changes, presented on 11/22/2010 as CS2010A000017. However, thinking about the proposed solution, a further solution related to the previous one was derived, which could accelerate the rebalancing times of the vibrations caused by the rotating masses, making it more convenient even at the cost of a small complication.
Descrizione della realizzazione preferita. Description of the preferred embodiment.
As in the case of patent application CS2010A000011, the system must naturally be equipped with a vibration measurement system, consisting in this case of at least one vibrometer or accelerometer, a controller which in this case incorporates the function of phase shifter, as the control of the system is entirely entrusted to the electronics, and to a mechanical system capable of generating forces antagonistic to those produced by the maldistribution of the cloths, consisting of the same toroidal cavities placed laterally inside the drum, but open towards the € ™ external to the minor radius, divided by partitions into a series of pockets that must be filled with water, as was precisely envisaged in the patent application CS2010A000017. But while in that patent application it was envisaged that all the pockets were filled equally at the start of centrifugation, the idea is now to fill them selectively at the beginning using timer solenoids, obviously after having determined the position and size of the unbalancing mass by means of the use of accelerometers. In this way, the drain valves can only be operated to correct any small errors and to reduce the forces of inertia as the laundry dries. Practically the geometry of the washing machine and the drum remains that described in the second patent cited, in the case of pockets open to the internal radius and filled on both sides, but what varies is the filling, which takes place in a timed manner after having determined by measuring the € ™ entity and direction of imbalance. It will therefore be necessary to control the flow with suitable solenoid valves (one on each side) by filling the trays by half a turn and stopping the delivery in the second half turn, in order to discharge the mass of water strictly necessary to balance the water into the pockets. imbalance. The drain valves will still be useful for adjusting any dispensing errors (rare), but above all to decrease the balancing mass as the laundry dries.
Note that given the possibility of feeding the pockets located at the ends of the basket in a differentiated way, in this case it is preferable to use two vibrometers or accelerometers, in order to balance the forces both in the tangential and axial directions, bringing the main axis of inertia of the cloth-basket system to coincide with that of rotation, as tire specialists do when they put the small balancing masses in different positions, inside and outside the wheels.
However, it is also possible to use a single vibration meter, being content to balance only the main component of the rotating forces.
Moving on to a more detailed description, we see in Table 1 a diagram that represents the basket in front and side half-section in the case of pockets open to the minimum radius, in which the subdivisions of the toroids into pockets (1), the obturator of the axially operated drain valves (2), the relative openings at the minimum radius (3), and, in the lateral half-section, the accelerometers (4), the water supply ducts (5) which are part of the tank containing the basket (6), the emptying valve actuation solenoids (7), the incoming flow control and timing solenoid valves (8), and the auxiliary pump for the injection of the balancing water (9) .
Moving on to examine how axial-actuated emptying valves can be made, this is represented in Table 2, where with (10) indicates the basket open to the lower radius, (11) the solenoid, (12) the obturator and relative permanent magnet, (13) a rocker arm, (14) a stainless steel spring, (15) the valve support and (16) the tank. The basket axis is not shown as horizontal but very far away. If you do not wish to use permanent magnets, which in any case do not risk losing their magnetization characteristics since the maximum temperatures reached by a washing machine during washing are much lower than the Curie temperature, the opening should take place by attracting the shutter instead of rejecting it, with greater complexity, unless the water is discharged towards the inside of the basket instead of towards the outside, and in this case the solenoid could only act by attracting the stainless steel spring made of ferromagnetic material , but in a less efficient way from the point of view of energy consumption.
