La presente invenzione riguarda il campo degli apparecchi a vapore per uso domestico ed in particolare riguarda un apparecchio a vapore per stirare o mettere in piega capi d'abbigliamento. The present invention relates to the field of steam appliances for domestic use and in particular it relates to a steam appliance for ironing or styling garments.

Sono noti nella tecnica diversi apparecchi elettrici per stirare abiti, loro accessori o tessuti. Sono in particolare noti apparecchi per stirare, o meglio "mettere in piega" pantaloni ed altri simili capi. In sostanza lo scopo di tali apparecchi è quello di rimuovere od eliminare le grinze formate con l'uso giornaliero del capo di abbigliamento e, ad esempio per quanto riguarda i pantaloni, ripristinare e mantenere la piega centrale. Claims

CLAIMS 1. Apparatus for ironing or folding garments comprising a flat panel and a plate between which the garment to be ironed or folded is placed, said panel and said plate, preferably hinged together, being able to exercise an adequate pressure on the garment and further comprising heating means, characterized by the fact that said heating means heat water for the production of steam for ironing or folding the garment and also by the fact that it is associated with a servo-mute type structure .

2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said heating means are in the form of a resistance, preferably armored.

3. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the ironing or styling steam is generated within a chamber provided with a flat perforated panel and a deep drawn panel duly coupled in a watertight manner.

4. Apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it further comprises a water reservoir and pump means for introducing a predetermined quantity of water into the steam generation chamber.

5. Apparatus according to claim 4, characterized in that said pump means are a vibration pump.

6. Apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it furthermore comprises a water tank, an end-of-water pressure switch which prevents the appliance from functioning in the event that the water in the tank is absent or insufficient and a further safety device represented by an overtemperature thermostat.

7. Apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that there is at least one luminous LED or the like to signal the various working states of the apparatus.

8. Apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that processing means are provided to ensure that, when the apparatus is operated, a predetermined quantity of water is introduced, sufficient to generate an optimal quantity of steam and to make sure that the appliance is stopped when the water runs out.

9. Apparatus according to any one of claims 4 to 8, characterized in that said tank is formed as an integral part of a control base suitable to be fixed to a support panel.

10. Control base characterized by the fact that it is adapted to house a plurality of components of the appliance according to any one of claims 1 to 9, and also by the fact that it is shaped in such a way as to provide a tank for water and to be associable to a suitable lid.
