(57) [Summary] [Problem] To provide a method and an apparatus for allowing anyone to more easily determine the authenticity of a metameric pair printed matter whose authenticity determination method is limited to visual identification. SOLUTION: A light projecting unit that projects near-infrared light of wavelengths 1 and 2, a light-receiving unit that receives reflected light or transmitted light of near-infrared light by a photodiode, and amplifies an output current and converts it to a voltage by an amplifier. The authenticity of the metameric pair printed matter is determined by a mechanical determination device having a calculation unit that compares the two output voltages and displays the determination result, and the near-infrared light of the first ink and the second ink that are the metameric inks Applying the properties in the area, the output voltage of wavelength 1 in the first ink is larger than the wavelength 2 and has a sufficient difference, the output voltages of both are equal in the second ink, and the output voltage of wavelength 1 is the first and second inks. If the three determination conditions that the inks are equal are satisfied, it is determined that the printed matter is a genuine metameric pair print.

As a technique for visually discriminating the authenticity in this technical field, an image utilizing the fact that the color material group looks the same or different colors by appropriately selecting a light source to be illuminated. Formed body (Japanese Patent Publication No. 60-58711)
No.). The two types of inks used in this printed matter are those having a characteristic of color matching, and appear to be color matching under normal light due to the nature of the pigment contained in the ink, but are viewed using a different light source or through a color filter. This color is reproduced in a different color from a color copier or a photograph, and this operation makes it possible to visually discriminate the authenticity of the printed matter. However, visual discrimination requires the preparation of different light sources and filters and the confirmation of reproducibility with a color copier, which lacks certainty, convenience, and immediate effect. Also, in recent years, printed materials that require security prevention, such as securities, have been increasingly machined by vending machines and the like. Until now, it has been difficult, and there has been a demand for the development of a new method for determining the authenticity by mechanical reading.

[0004] As a technique for discriminating the authenticity by a machine utilizing the function of ink, as a technique of printing as invisible or concealed information using ink that absorbs infrared rays on a base material, the absorption of infrared light is determined. There is a method of detecting and authenticity determination, but if the machine only detects the infrared region, if it is printed with black ink containing carbon black, it absorbs both visible and infrared regions and it is a genuine product Therefore, as a method of reliably determining this, irradiating the invisible or concealed information portion with infrared light and visible light, infrared light of the reflected light from the information portion is absorbed. A method of judging a genuine product by reflecting visible light (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-153233), detecting the reflected light from the information portion separately from infrared light and visible light, and detecting the reflected light from infrared light. Only information Are those was true, apparatus for determining what both infrared light and visible light or viewing information from the visible light, is obtained as false (JP-9-2
No. 45115). In these methods, information in the visible region is excluded, and information is devised so that only the information in the infrared region can be determined. However, since the region that absorbs or reflects infrared light is not determined, infrared absorbing ink having different characteristics is applied. However, there is a risk of misjudgment as a genuine product, and the method of judging the authenticity of valuable printed matter such as banknotes and securities is not perfect.

As shown in FIG. 2, the reflectance of the near-infrared ray of wavelength 1 is substantially equal in the first ink and the second ink, and the reflectance of the near-infrared ray of wavelength 2 is higher in the first ink than in the second ink. Is low. Therefore, in the printing section (1) of the first ink, the output voltage of the wavelength 2 converted by the photodiode becomes smaller than the output voltage of the wavelength 1, and a difference occurs from the output voltage of the wavelength 1. However, the non-black ink used in the copy of the metameric pair print (P) and the color copy toner do not have the property of absorbing near-infrared rays in a specific wavelength region. , The output voltages of wavelengths 1 and 2 become substantially equal. From these, the portion corresponding to the printing portion (1) of the first ink is read, and if the output voltage of wavelength 1 is higher than the output voltage of wavelength 2 and has a difference equal to or greater than the set threshold value, Can be determined that the first ink is used [determination condition 1]. The threshold value is set to a value larger than the maximum value of the voltage difference waveform of the copy.

Next, as shown in FIG. 2, the second ink has almost the same spectral reflectance at wavelengths 1 and 2, so that there is almost no difference between the output voltages at wavelengths 1 and 2. In addition, the spectral reflectance of wavelength 1 in the printing portion (2) of the second ink is equal to that of the printing portion (1) of the first ink, and the spectral reflectances of the first ink and the second ink in the near infrared region are the same. Only around the wavelength 1. Therefore, the portion corresponding to the printing portion (2) of the second ink is read, and the output voltages of the second ink at wavelengths 1 and 2 are equal [determination condition 2] and the wavelength 1
If the two output conditions are the same for the first ink and the second ink, the two conditions of [determination condition 3] and the determination condition 1 are satisfied, and if all three determination conditions are satisfied, the metameric pair print (P) is obtained. Can be determined. The method of determining that the two values are equal in the determination conditions 2 and 3 is performed by comparing whether the difference between the two output voltages is within the range of the set value, and the set value in the present invention is about 1V. .

FIG. 5 shows the output voltage waveform (6a) of wavelength 1 and the output voltage waveform (7a) of wavelength 2 obtained by mechanically reading the metameric pair printed matter (P) of FIG. 1 [FIG. 1)]
And the voltage difference waveforms at these wavelengths (8a) [FIG.
(2)]. At the measurement point (9) of the first ink, the output voltage (7a) of the wavelength 2 becomes smaller than the output voltage (6a) of the wavelength 1, and the voltage difference becomes larger than the threshold value.
Meet. At the measurement point (10) of the second ink, the wavelength 1
And the output voltage (7a) of wavelength 2 are almost equal, and the voltage difference is close to 0 V, so that the determination condition 2 is satisfied. Further, the output voltage (6a) of the wavelength 1 in the printing section (1) of the first ink and the printing section (2) of the second ink are equal, and thus the determination condition 3 is satisfied. Since all of the above-mentioned determination conditions are satisfied, it can be determined that the printed matter is the metameric pair printed matter (P).

The conventional method for determining the authenticity of a metameric pair print using a metameric ink has been limited to a visual method using equipment such as a light source and a filter. According to the method and the apparatus thereof, in the technology for preventing forgery of the printed metalic pair, a method by a mechanical device is added to create a new added value. However, according to the present invention, the authenticity of the printed metameric pair can be reliably determined. In the mechanical discrimination method and the apparatus thereof according to the present invention, the above-described conditions and the like are determined by using an apparatus using two kinds of near-infrared rays having different wavelengths in accordance with the properties of the ink to be authenticated in the near-infrared region. Because it uses a method to detect whether or not it is a color ink, detection is more advanced than the conventional detection method using infrared light in a wide wavelength range, or the detection method using two wavelengths of visible light and infrared light. This makes it possible to distinguish between an ink that absorbs the entire near-infrared region and a near-infrared absorbing ink having different characteristics.
