(57)【要約】 【課題】 胴周り開口縁部が弾性伸縮性のおむつ使用材
料を節減する。 【解決手段】 胴周り開口１６の縁部がその回り方向に
弾性伸縮性を有するおむつ１の前後胴周り域６，７が、
被覆部２１，２２と、胴周り方向へ被覆部２１，２２の
長さよりも長く伸長可能な弾性部１８Ａ，１８Ｂを有す
る。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、使い捨ておむつ
に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】従来、表面シートや裏面シートが非伸縮
性または非伸長性のシートからなる使い捨てのおむつは
よく知られている。このおむつでは、胴周りや脚周りを
肌に密着させるために、これらシートの内面に弾性部材
を胴周り方向や脚周り方向へ伸長した状態で取り付ける
こともよく知られている。
【０００３】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】前記従来のおむつにお
いて、それが例えばパンツ型のものであれば、胴周り開
口部が大きく開いて着用し易くなるように、着用者の胴
周り寸法よりもおむつの胴周り寸法をはるかに大きくす
ることがある。脚周り開口部においても同様なことがい
える。ところが、おむつをそのように作ることは、胴周
りや脚周りを被覆するのに十分な布地以上に多くの布地
を使うことになる。
【０００４】この発明では、そのように布地を多く使わ
なくても容易に着用することができる使い捨ておむつの
提供を課題にしている。
【０００５】
【課題を解決するための手段】前記課題解決のために、
この発明が前提とするのは、前胴周り域と後胴周り域と
これら両胴周り域間に位置する股下域とを有し、前記両
胴周り域のうちの少なくとも一方は胴周り方向へ延びる
縁部の全長が前記胴周り方向に弾性伸縮性を有する使い
捨ておむつである。
【０００６】かかる前提において、この発明が特徴とす
るところは、前記縁部が弾性伸縮性を有する前記胴周り
域は、前記脚周り域と一体に形成されていて前記おむつ
着用者の胴周り域を覆う被覆部と、前記被覆部の縁に沿
って取り付けられ前記胴周り方向へ弾性伸縮可能な弾性
部とを有し、前記弾性部が前記胴周り方向へ前記被覆部
の長さよりも長く弾性的に伸長可能な第１部材と、前記
胴周り方向へ前記被覆部の長さよりも長く非弾性的に伸
長可能であり前記第１部材を覆うとともに前記被覆部の
縁に沿って取り付けられている第２部材とで形成されて
いること、にある。
【０００７】かかる発明には、次のような好ましい実施
態様がある。 （１）前記第１部材が帯状ゴムである。 （２）前記第２部材は、前記胴周り方向の長さが前記被
覆部のそれよりも長いシート材料に前記胴周り方向へギ
ャザーを作って短くすることにより、前記被覆部の長さ
にほぼ一致させてある。 （３）前記第２部材は、前記胴周り方向の長さが前記被
覆部のそれと実質的に同じであり、かつ、前記胴周り方
向に非弾性的に伸長可能なシート材料で形成されてい
る。 （４）前記被覆部が前記胴周り方向に非伸長性のもので
ある。 （５）前記被覆部が前記胴周り方向に弾性伸縮性のもの
であり、前記弾性部に沿う前記弾性部と同じ幅を有する
部分の伸長応力が前記弾性部のそれよりも高い。 （６）前記おむつが弾性伸縮性の脚周り縁部を有し、こ
の縁部が弾性的に伸長可能な第３部材と、前記第３部材
を覆い非弾性的に伸長可能な第４部材とで形成されてい
る。

【発明の実施の形態】添付の図面を参照して、この発明
に係る使い捨ておむつの詳細を説明すると、以下のとお
りである。
【０００９】図１に部分破断斜視図で示された使い捨て
おむつ１は、パンツ型のもので、前胴周り域６と、後胴
周り域７と、これら両胴周り域６，７間に位置する股下
域８とを有する。前後胴周り域６，７は側縁部１１，１
２どうしが合掌状に重なり合い、上下方向へ間欠的に延
びる接合域１３で互いに接合することによって、胴周り
開口部１６と左右一対の脚周り開口部１７とを形成して
いる。開口部１６の周り方向には胴周り弾性部１８が延
在し、開口部１７の周り方向には脚周り弾性部１９が延
在している。おむつ１は、その内面を形成する透液性表
面シート２と、外面を形成する不透液性裏面シート３
と、これら表裏面シート２，３間に介在する吸液性コア
４とを有する。
【００１０】図２は、図１のおむつ１を接合域１３で切
り開き、前後胴周り域６，７を双頭矢印Ａで示される方
向へ伸展したときの部分破断斜視図である。前後胴周り
域６，７それぞれは、おむつ１着用者の前後胴周り域を
広く覆う前後被覆部２１，２２と、これら被覆部２１，
２２の胴周り方向へ延びる前後端縁２３，２４に沿って
取り付けられた同形同大の前後弾性部１８Ａ，１８Ｂと
からなる。股下域８は、おむつ１着用者の股下域を覆う
股下域被覆部２６と、被覆部２６の湾曲縁２７に沿って
取り付けられた脚周り弾性部１９とからなる。前後被覆
部２１，２２と股下域被覆部２６とは、前後方向で一連
をなす表面シート２と裏面シート３とコア４とによって
形成されている。コア４は砂時計型を呈し、表裏面シー
ト２，３がコア４の周縁から延出する部分で互いに重な
り合いホットメルト接着剤（図示せず）を介して接合し
ている。
【００１１】おむつ１では、合掌状に重なりあった側縁
部１１，１２どうしが接合域１３で接合して一体となる
ことによって、前後弾性部１８Ａ，１８Ｂが環状の胴周
り弾性部１８を形成する。図２では、前後弾性部１８
Ａ，１８Ｂのうちの後弾性部１８Ｂが後被覆部２２に取
り付けれる前の状態で示されている。後弾性部１８Ｂ
は、後胴周り域７の幅Ｗの少なくとも１．３倍、より好
ましくはＷの少なくとも２倍、さらに好ましくはＷの少
なくとも３倍だけ弾性的に伸長可能な帯状ゴム３１と、
寸法Ｗよりも長く、帯状ゴム３１を被覆して、ゴム３１
の少なくとも前記伸長倍率にまで伸長可能な被覆シート
３２とを有する。帯状ゴム３１は、１本または２本以上
にすることができ、その断面形状および寸法に特別の規
定はない。また、ゴム３１の材質にも特別の規定がな
く、天然ゴム、合成ゴム、合成樹脂エラストマー、合成
樹脂弾性糸、その弾性糸から得られる織布等を使用する
ことができる。ただし、帯状ゴム３１と被覆シート３２
とが一体となった前後弾性部１８Ａ，１８Ｂは、胴周り
方向の伸長応力、好ましくは３〜２０％伸長時の応力
が、これら弾性部１８Ａ，１８Ｂに沿うこれらと同じ幅
の前後被覆部２１，２２の部分の伸長応力よりも低い。
被覆シート３２は、寸法Ｗよりも長く、帯状ゴム３１の
弾性的な伸長に追随して非弾性的または弾性的に伸長す
るもので、かかるシート３２の一例には、寸法Ｗよりも
長い非伸長性のシートに、胴周り方向で起伏を繰り返す
ギャザー３３を形成して実質的な伸長性をもたせ、これ
を後被覆部２２に取り付けたものがある。また、シート
３２は非弾性的に伸長可能なシートを後被覆部２２に取
り付けたものであって、帯状ゴム３１の伸長に追随して
伸長し、ゴム３１が収縮するとギャザーを形成しながら
その収縮に追随するするものでもよい。さらにはまた、
シート３２が、ゴム３１とともに弾性的に伸縮するもの
であってもよい。
【００１２】かかる帯状ゴム３１は、図示例のように２
枚の被覆シート３２でサンドウィッチ状に被覆したり、
被覆シート３２を筒状にして、その筒の中にゴム３１を
納めて被覆することができる。いずれの場合にも、ゴム
３１は全長のうちの少なくとも両端部がシート３２に接
合し、さらに必要ならそれら両端部間の部分が間欠的ま
たは連続的にシート３２に接合する。図２を参照して具
体例をあげれば、厚さ０．３ｍｍ，幅２．１ｍｍ，長さ
１７１ｍｍの３〜５本の帯状合成ゴム３１を４００ｍｍ
にまで伸長して、スパンボンド不織布からなる長さ４０
０ｍｍの非伸長性の被覆シート３２にホットメルト接着
剤（図示せず）を介して間欠的に接合するとともに、シ
ート３２でゴム３１をサンドウィッチ状に被覆すること
で後弾性部１８Ｂが得られる。この後弾性部１８Ｂは、
ゴム３１を収縮させ、シート３２にはギャザー３３を形
成させて長さ２４０ｍｍにまで縮めて、胴周り寸法Ｗが
２４０ｍｍの後被覆部２２に接着、溶着、縫合等の手段
によって取り付けられる。
【００１３】かかるおむつ１では、前後被覆部２１，２
２が胴周り方向への伸長性を有していない場合でも、胴
周り弾性部１８が図１に仮想線で示されるように伸長し
て開口部１６が大きく開くから、おむつ１の着用が容易
である。
【００１４】このおむつ１では、脚周り弾性部１９も胴
周り弾性部１８と同様に、股下被覆部２６における脚周
りの縁２７に沿う実寸法よりも長く、好ましくはその実
寸法の少なくとも１．３倍、より好ましくは少なくとも
２倍、さらに好ましくは少なくとも３倍だけ弾性的に伸
縮可能なものであることが望ましい。かかる弾性部１９
は、弾性伸縮性の帯状ゴムと、伸長性の被覆シートとで
形成することができる。
【００１５】この発明は、図示例のように、前後胴周り
域６，７の開口縁部に弾性伸縮性を持たせて実施するこ
とがができる他に、これら両胴周り域６，７のいずれか
一方にのみ弾性伸縮性を持たせて実施することができ
る。また、前後両胴周り域６，７で弾性部１８Ａ，１８
Ｂの伸縮応力が異なるようにして実施することもでき
る。表裏面シート２，３やコア４には、公知ないし周知
のものを使うことができる。各部材は接着、溶着、縫合
等によって接合することができる。

【発明の効果】この発明に係る使い捨ておむつは、前後
両胴周り域の被覆部が胴周り方向への伸長性を有してい
ない場合でも、胴周りの弾性部が被覆部よりも長く伸長
して大きな胴周り開口を形成できるから、おむつの着用
が容易である。かかるおむつでは、被覆部の胴周り方向
の寸法をおむつ着用者の胴周り寸法よりもはるかに大き
くするという必要がないから、その分だけおむつに使用
する材料の節減が可能になる。特に、弾性部の帯状ゴム
がギャザーを作った非伸長性シートで覆われるようにす
れば、コストの高い伸長性のシートを使用して帯状ゴム
を覆う必要がなくなる。

Claims (7)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 前胴周り域と後胴周り域とこれら両胴周
    り域間に位置する股下域とを有し、前記両胴周り域のう
    ちの少なくとも一方は周り方向へ延びる縁部の全長が前
    記胴周り方向への弾性伸縮性を有する使い捨ておむつに
    おいて、 前記縁部が弾性伸縮性を有する前記胴周り域は、前記股
    下域と一体に形成されていて前記おむつ着用者の胴周り
    域を覆う被覆部と、前記被覆部の縁に沿って取り付けら
    れ前記胴周り方向へ弾性的に伸縮可能な弾性部とを有
    し、 前記弾性部が前記胴周り方向へ前記被覆部の長さよりも
    長く弾性的に伸長可能な第１部材と、前記胴周り方向へ
    前記被覆部の長さよりも長く非弾性的に伸長可能であり
    前記第１部材を覆うとともに前記被覆部の縁に沿って取
    り付けられている第２部材とで形成されていることを特
    徴とする前記おむつ。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記第１部材が帯状ゴムである請求項１
    記載のおむつ。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記第２部材は、前記胴周り方向の長さ
    が前記被覆部のそれよりも長いシート材料に前記胴周り
    方向へギャザーを作って短くすることにより、前記被覆
    部の長さにほぼ一致させてある請求項１または２記載の
    おむつ。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記第２部材は、前記胴周り方向の長さ
    が前記被覆部のそれと実質的に同じであり、かつ、前記
    胴周り方向へ非弾性的に伸長可能なシート材料で形成さ
    れている請求項１または２記載のおむつ。
  5. 【請求項５】 前記被覆部が前記胴周り方向に非伸長性
    のものである請求項１〜４のいずれかに記載のおむつ。
  6. 【請求項６】 前記被覆部が前記胴周り方向に弾性伸縮
    性のものであり、前記弾性部に沿う前記弾性部と同じ幅
    を有する部分の伸長応力が前記弾性部のそれよりも高い
    請求項１〜４のいずれかに記載のおむつ。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記おむつが弾性伸縮性の脚周り縁部を
    有し、この縁部が弾性的に伸長可能な第３部材と、前記
    第３部材を覆い非弾性的に伸長可能な第４部材とで形成
    されている請求項１〜６のいずれかに記載のおむつ。
