Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.細長い可撓性本体を有し、該本体は、管状壁と、本体を貫通して軸線方向に 延びる少なくとも1つの管孔とを備え、 本体を通って軸線方向に延びかつ第1遠位側ゾーンに終端する、前記壁内の 第1管状要素と、 本体を通って軸線方向に延びかつ第2遠位側ゾーンに終端する、前記壁内の 第2管状要素とを更に有し、 第1および第2管状要素の各々の第1および第2遠位側ゾーンの各々にはス パイラルカットが設けられていることを特徴とする曲がりくねった小血管に挿通 するためのカテーテル。 2.前記第1管状要素は、第2管状要素内に同心状に配置されていることを特徴 とする請求の範囲第1項に記載のカテーテル。 3.前記第2遠位側ゾーンは、第1遠位側ゾーンから軸線方向に変位しているこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲第2項に記載のカテーテル。 4.前記管状壁内に同心状に配置されるスプリングコイルを更に有することを特 徴とする請求の範囲第2項に記載のカテーテル。 5.前記スプリングコイルは、第1管状要素の半径方向外側で、かつ第2管状要 素の半径方向内側に同心状に配置されていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第4項 に記載のカテーテル。 6.前記管状壁を包囲する外側管状スリーブを更に有することを特徴とする請求 の範囲第5項に記載のカテーテル。 7.前記遠位端の近くに配置される放射線不透過性マーカを更に有することを特 徴とする請求の範囲第6項に記載のカテーテル。 8.前記第1管状要素はポリテトラフルオロエチレンからなり、前記第2管状要 素はポリイミドからなることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載のカテーテル 。 9.前記スプリングコイルは、コイルの隣接巻き部が互いに接触している近位側 ゾーンと、コイルの隣接巻き部が互いに軸線方向に間隔を隔てている遠位側セ クションとを有することを特徴とする請求の範囲第4項に記載のカテーテル。 10.前記スプリングコイルは、矩形の断面形状を有するワイヤからなることを特 徴とする請求の範囲第4項に記載のカテーテル。 11.第1スパイラルカットが設けられた遠位側ゾーンを備えた細長い第1管状要 素を用意する段階と、 第1管状要素の外面の周囲にスプリングコイルを同心状に配置する段階とを 有し、前記スプリングコイルは、カテーテルの近位端から、第1管状要素の遠位 端から近位側に間隔を隔てた位置まで、遠位側に延びており、 近位側の中実壁ゾーンおよび遠位側のスパイラルカットゾーンを備えた第2 管状要素を用意する段階と、 第2管状要素がカテーテルの近位端から前記スプリングコイルの遠位端より近 位側の位置まで延びるように、スプリングコイルの周囲に第2管状要素を同心状 に配置してカテーテルの副組立体を作る段階と、 前記第1および第2管状要素および前記スプリングコイルにより形成された 副組立体の外面の周囲に外側管状ジャケットを配置する段階と、 外側管状ジャケットを半径方向に縮小させて、可撓性の大きな小径カテーテ ルを形成する段階とを更に有することを特徴とする可撓性の大きな小径カテーテ ルを製造する方法。 12.細長い可撓性管状本体を有し、該管状本体は、近位端と、遠位端と、管状本 体を貫通して軸線方向に延びる少なくとも1つの中央管孔とを備え、 カテーテル本体の少なくとも1つの可撓性勾配ゾーンを有し、該可撓性勾配 ゾーンがこの近位端の第1可撓性と、遠位端の第2可撓性とを有し、第1可撓性 から第2可撓性に至るゾーンの長さに沿って可撓性が連続的に変化することを特 徴とするカテーテル。 13.前記可撓性ゾーンが、カテーテルの長さの少なくとも約98%に亘って延び ていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記載のカテーテル。 14.前記可撓性ゾーンが、カテーテルの長さの少なくとも約75%に亘って延び ていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記載のカテーテル。 15.前記管状本体は、該管状本体の外面と、管状本体を貫通して延びる管孔との 間の壁厚を有し、可撓性ゾーンの近位端の壁厚は可撓性ゾーンの遠位端の壁厚よ り大きいことを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記載のカテーテル。 16.前記可撓性ゾーンは、該ゾーンの近位端から遠位端にかけて壁厚が連続的に 変化することを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記載のカテーテル。 17.前記可撓性ゾーンは少なくとも約148cm延びており、かつ該可撓性ゾーン の近位端における約0.009〜0.012インチの範囲内の壁厚と、可撓性ゾーンの遠位 端における約0.0005〜0.002インチの範囲内の壁厚とを有することを特徴とする 請求の範囲第12項に記載のカテーテル。 18.前記カテーテルは、近位端と、遠位端と、該遠位端の膨張バルーンとを有し 、該バルーンは管状壁の少なくとも1つの孔を介して管孔と流体連通しており、 前記カテーテルは中央管孔内の弁を更に有し、該弁はガイドワイヤが中央管孔を 通ることを許容するが、ガイドワイヤの除去後は閉じて、バルーンを膨張させる 加圧媒体の管孔内への導入を可能にすることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記 載のカテーテル。 19.細長い管状本体を有するカテーテルを用意する段階を有し、管状本体は、こ れを軸線方向に貫通して延びる中央管孔と、該中央管孔内の遠位側弁と、管状本 体の遠位端に配置されかつ前記弁より近位側の前記中央管孔と流体連通している 膨張バルーンとを備え、 前記中央管孔および弁を通してガイドワイヤを前進させる段階と、 バルーンが治療部位に位置するように、ガイドワイヤおよびカテーテルを血 管内で位置決めする段階と、 中央管孔からワイヤを引き出す段階と、 中央管孔内に膨張媒体を導入してバルーンを膨張させる段階とを更に有し、 前記弁は、中央管孔からのガイドワイヤの除去後に閉位置に移動して、膨張 媒体が弁を通って逃散することを実質的に防止することを特徴とする血管の治療 方法。
