Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. ダイヤモンド宝石の研磨ファセットに、裸眼で見えない情報マークを形成 する方法であって、 前記ファセット面のそれぞれの部位を、該ファセット面の照射部と反応する反 応剤の存在の下に、約400nmより短い波長を有する放射で照射し、 形成すべきマークを生じさせる、各段階を備え、 該形成されたマークに実質的にダークニングはない情報マーク形成方法。 2. ダイヤモンド宝石の研磨ファセットに、裸眼で見えない情報マークを形成 する方法であって、 前記ファセット面のそれぞれの部位を、該ファセット面の照射部と反応する反 応剤の存在の下に、約400nmより短い波長を有する放射で照射し、 形成すべきマークを生じさせる、各段階を備え、 該形成されたマークは前記ダイヤモンドの清澄性等級を低下させない情報マー ク形成方法。 3. 前記放射をパルス化し、前記それぞれの部位を放射位置あたり100パル ス以上で照射する請求項1又は2記載の方法。 4. 前記照射位置での流束量を約3J/cm2以下とする請求項1乃至3のう ち何れか1項記載の方法。 5. 前記照射位置での流束量を約2J/cm2以下とする請求項1乃至3のう ち何れか1項記載の方法。 6. ダイヤモンド宝石の研磨ファセットに、裸眼で見えない情報マークを形成 する方法であって、 前記ファセット面のそれぞれの部位を、該ファセット面の照射部と反応する反 応剤の存在の下に、約400nmより短い波長を有する放射で、照射位置での流 束量が1パルスあたり3J/cm2以下となるよう照射位置あたり約100パル ス以上を用いて照射し、 形成すべきマークを生じさせる、各段階を備える情報マーク形成方法。 7. 前記マークの形成中に、実質的にダークニングは生じない請求項1乃至6 のうち何れか1項記載の方法。 8. 前記形成されたマークは10倍のルーペを用いても裸眼では見えない請求 項1乃至7のうち何れか1項記載の方法。 9. 前記形成されたマークに検出可能な非ダイヤモンドカーボンは存在しない 請求項1乃至8のうち何れか1項記載の方法。 10. 前記それぞれの部位を225nm未満の波長を有する放射で照射する請 求項1乃至9のうち何れか1項記載の方法。 11. プロセスの実行中、前記マークの深さを監視し、該深さを、付与するパ ルスの個数によって制御する請求項1乃至10のうち何れか1項記載の方法。 12. 前記情報マークを前記ダイヤモンド宝石のテーブルに形成する請求項1 乃至11のうち何れか1項記載の方法。 13. 前記反応剤は気体である請求項1乃至12のうち何れか1 項記載の方法。 14. 前記反応剤は酸化性気体である請求項1乃至12のうち何れか1項記載 の方法。 15. 前記反応剤は空気である請求項14記載の方法。 16. 前記情報マークは約100nm以下の深さを有する請求項1乃至15の うち何れか1項記載の方法。 17. 前記情報マークは約1nm以上の深さを有する請求項1から16のうち 何れか1項記載の方法。 18. ダイヤモンド宝石の研磨ファセットに、裸眼で見えない情報マークを形 成する方法であって、 実質的に上記例1又は例2おいて説明し、又は、添付の図面の図1又は図2を 参照して説明した方法。 19. 研磨ファセットに情報マークが請求項1乃至18のうち何れか1項記載 の方法により形成されたダイヤモンド宝石。 20. 請求項1乃至17のうち何れか1項記載の方法を実行する装置であって 、 ダイヤモンド宝石を取り付ける手段と、 前記宝石の研磨ファセットの表面を約400nm未満の波長を有するパルス化 放射により、照射位置での流束量が1パルスあたり3J/cm2となるよう放射 位置あたり約100パルス以上で照射する放射源及び光学的手段と、 前記ファセット面の照射部と反応する反応剤を前記照射位置に存 在させ、形成すべきマークを生じさせる手段とを備える装置。 21. 前記光学的手段は、レーザと、マスクと、該レーザ及び該マスクの間の ビームホモジナイザとよりなる請求項20記載の装置。 22. 実質的に上記例1又は例2おいて説明し、又は、添付の図面の図1又は 図2を参照して説明した装置。
