- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.皮膚科学上の被検物を処置するためのレーザシステムであって、 1ないし50Jのエネルギーを発生し、有効持続時間が5ないし100ミリ秒 で、フルエンスが10ないし50J/cm2で、スポットサイズが0.1ないし 10cm2のレーザ光出力パルスを発生する長パルスアレキサンドライトレーザ と、 前記レーザ光出力パルスを患者の皮膚科学上の標的部位に伝達する光伝達シス テムとを備えるレーザシステム。 2.請求項1において、前記アレキサンドライトレーザの共振空洞が、多重共 振モードで構成されるレーザ光出力パルスを発生するレーザシステム。 3.請求項1において、前記アレキサンドライトレーザの共振空洞が、半球構 造を有しているレーザシステム。 4.請求項1において、前記アレキサンドライトレーザが、曲面全反射ミラー および平面または略平面部分反射ミラーを有し、それらのミラーがアレキサンド ライト利得媒質を含む共振空洞を形成するレーザシステム。 5.請求項1において、前記アレキサンドライトレーザが、全反射ミラーおよ び部分反射ミラーを有し、それらのミラーがアレキサンドライト利得媒質を含む 共振空洞を形成し、それらのミラーのうち少なくとも1つの曲率半径が、前記レ ーザ光出力パルスの発生中にアレキサンドライト利得媒質に生じる熱レンズの焦 点距離よりも小さいレーザシステム。 6.請求項1において、前記アレキサンドライトレーザが、全反射ミラーおよ び部分反射ミラーを有し、それらのミラーがアレキサンドライト利得媒質を含む 共振空洞を形成し、それらのミラーのうち少なくとも1つの曲率半径がそれらの ミラー間の距離よりも小さいレーザシステム。 7.請求項6において、前記ミラー間の距離が、前記レーザ光出力パルスの発 生中にアレキサンドライト利得媒質に生じる熱レンズの寄与を考慮して、前記ミ ラーのうちの少なくとも1つの曲率半径よりも小さいレーザシステム。 8.請求項1において、前記光伝達システムが、皮膚科学上の標的部位におけ る少なくとも1cm2の領域に前記レーザ光出力パルスを分布させるレーザシス テム。 9.請求項1において、前記アレキサンドライトレーザが、前記レーザ光出力 パルスを0.5ないし10秒間発生するレーザシステム。 10.請求項1において、前記長パルスアレキサンドライトレーザが、 アレキサンドライト利得媒質と、 そのアレキサンドライト利得媒質を励起するための少なくとも1つのフラッシ ュランプと、 その少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプに電力を供給するために接続される電 源と、 その電源による前記少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプの駆動を制御する能動 パルス形成回路とを有するレーザシステム。 11.請求項10において、前記能動パルス形成回路が、前記電源との前記少な くとも1つのフラッシュランプの接続を開閉する少なくとも1つのトランジスタ を有するレーザシステム。 12.請求項10において、前記能動パルス形成回路が、前記電源との前記少な くとも1つのフラッシュランプの接続を開閉するように並列に接続される2以上 のトランジスタを有するレーザシステム。 13.請求項10において、前記能動パルス形成回路が、持続時間中に一連のサ ブパルスを含むレーザ光出力パルスを発生するように、前記少なくとも1つのフ ラッシュランプを流れる電流を変調するレーザシステム。 14.皮膚科学上の被検物を処置するためのレーザシステムであって、 利得媒質と、 その利得媒質を励起するための少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプと、 その少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプに電力を供給するために接続される電 源と、 その電源による前記少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプの駆動を制御して、持 続時間中に一連のサブパルスを含むレーザ光出力パルスを発生するように、前記 少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプを流れる電流を変調する能動パルス形成回路 と、 前記レーザ光出力パルスを患者の皮膚科学上の標的部位に伝達する光伝達シス テムとを備えたレーザシステム。 15.皮膚科学上の被検物のためのレーザ処置方法であって、 持続時間が5ないし100ミリ秒で、フルエンスが10ないし50J/cm2 で、波長が730ないし780nmのレーザ光出力パルスを発生させ、 そのレーザ光出力パルスを患者の皮膚科学上の標的部位に伝達するレーザ処置 方法。 16.請求項15において、多重共振モードで前記レーザ光出力パルスを発生さ せるレーザ処置方法。 17.請求項15において、アレキサンドライトレーザの半球共振空洞に前記レ ーザ光出力パルスを発生させるレーザ処置方法。 18.請求項17において、前記共振空洞を、アレキサンドライト利得媒質周囲 の曲面全反射ミラーおよび平面または略平面部分反射ミラーで形成するレーザ処 置方法。 19.請求項15において、共振空洞を全反射ミラーおよび部分反射ミラーで形 成し、 それらのミラーのうち少なくとも1つの曲率半径を、前記レーザ光出力パルス の発生中にアレキサンドライト利得媒質に生じる熱レンズの焦 点距離よりも小さくするレーザ処置方法。 20.請求項15において、共振空洞を全反射ミラーおよび部分反射ミラーで形 成し、それらのミラーのうちの少なくとも1つの曲率半径よりも小さい距離でそ れらのミラーを隔てるレーザ処置方法。 21.請求項15において、一連の持続時間の短いサブパルスから前記レーザ光 出力パルスを発生させるレーザ処置方法。 22.脱毛レーザシステムであって、 持続時間が5ないし50ミリ秒で、フルエンスが10ないし50J/cm2の レーザ光出力パルスを発生する長パルスアレキサンドライトレーザと、 前記レーザ光出力パルスを患者の毛の生える皮膚に伝達する光伝達システムと を備える脱毛レーザシステム。 23.請求項22において、前記皮膚に塗られ、前記レーザ光出力パルスに可視 的に反応する局部指示剤を備える脱毛レーザシステム。 24.請求項23において、前記局部指示剤が、オペレータに、前記皮膚におい て前記レーザ光出力パルスですでに処置された部分であることを示す照射のマー カを与える脱毛レーザシステム。 25.請求項22において、前記皮膚に塗られ、前記皮膚に深く侵入する前記レ ーザ光出力パルスとの結合を促進する屈折率整合剤を備える脱毛レーザシステム 。 26.請求項25において、前記屈折率整合剤および照射のマーカが共通の塗布 剤に含まれる脱毛レーザシステム。 27.請求項22において、前記長パルスアレキサンドライトレーザが、 アレキサンドライト利得媒質と、 そのアレキサンドライト利得媒質を励起するための少なくとも1つのフラッシ ュランプと、 その少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプに電力を供給するために接続 される電源と、 その電源による前記少なくとも1つのフラッシュランプの駆動を制御する能動 パルス形成回路とを有する脱毛レーザシステム。 28.請求項27において、前記能動パルス形成回路が、持続時間中に一連のサ ブパルスを含むレーザ光出力パルスを発生するように、前記少なくとも1つのフ ラッシュランプを流れる電流を変調する脱毛レーザシステム。 29.非医療的脱毛方法であって、 波長が710ないし810nmのレーザ光を発生させ、 前記レーザ光を1ミリ秒よりも長い有効パルス持続時間で毛の生える皮膚に照 射する脱毛方法。 30.請求項29において、10ないし50J/cm2のフルエンスで前記毛の 生える皮膚に照射する脱毛方法。 31.請求項29において、1回の処置において1回だけ前記毛の生える皮膚の 部分に照射する脱毛方法。 32.請求項31において、複数回の処置を行う脱毛方法。 33.請求項32において、各回の処置の間少なくとも数週間待機する脱毛方法 。 34.請求項29において、前記毛の生える皮膚に照射する前に、前記レーザ光 に可視的に反応する局部指示剤を前記毛の生える皮膚に塗る脱毛方法。 35.請求項29において、前記毛の生える皮膚に照射する前に、前記毛の生え る皮膚に深く侵入する前記レーザ光との結合を促進する屈折率整合剤を塗る脱毛 方法。 36.請求項29において、一連のサブパルスで前記レーザ光を発生させる脱毛 方法。 37.請求項29において、波長が約755nmの前記レーザ光を前記毛の生え る皮膚に照射する脱毛方法。 38.不要な血管の非医療的処置方法であって、 前記血管または血管壁を変質させる光を前記血管に照射し、 前記血管に硬化療法を施し、 前記血管への照射と前記硬化療法との間に休止時間を設けて待機する処置方法 。 39.請求項38において、前記血管に硬化療法を施す前に、前記血管に照射す る手順を行う処置方法。 40.請求項38において、前記休止時間を設けて待機する手順において、12 時間ないし6か月待機する処置方法。 41.請求項38において、前記硬化療法を施す手順において、前記血管に硬化 剤を注入する処置方法。 42.請求項38において、前記不要な血管の大きさを観測し、 その観測した大きさに基づいて照射するパルスの持続時間を選択し、 その選択したパルス持続時間で照射する処置方法。 43.請求項42において、前記照射にあたり、前記選択したパルス持続時間中 に一連の別の光パルスを発生させる処置方法。 44.請求項38において、前記不要な血管の深さを観測し、 少なくともその観測した深さに基づいて前記光の波長を選択し、 その選択した波長の光を照射する処置方法。 45.請求項38において、前記血管に照射する手順において、近赤外光を前記 血管に照射する処置方法。 46.請求項45において、前記照射にあたり、選択したパルス持続時間中に一 連の別の光パルスを発生させる処置方法。 47.請求項38において、照射されることにより前記皮膚においてすでに照射 された部分であることを示すマーカを前記皮膚に設置する処置方法。 48.請求項38において、前記血管に照射する手順の前に、前記硬化療法を施 す手順を行う処置方法。 49.不要な血管を処置するためのキットであって、 前記血管の破壊を起こす光を前記血管に照射するための近赤外光源と、 前記光源を、前記血管への照射と前記血管への硬化剤の注入との間に休止時間 を設けて待機させることを提示する指示手段とを備えたキット。 50.請求項49において、前記血管へ注入するための硬化剤を備えたキット。 51.請求項49において、前記指示手段において12時間ないし6か月の休止 時間が好ましいとするキット。 52.請求項49において、前記光源が、前記血管の熱的緩和時間に合致したパ ルス持続時間で前記血管に照射するキット。 53.請求項52において、前記光源が、前記選択されたパルス持続時間中に一 連の別の光パルスを発生させるキット。 54.請求項52において、前記パルス持続時間が1ないし100ミリ秒である キット。 55.請求項49において、前記光源がアレキサンドライトレーザであるキット 。 56.請求項49において、前記近赤外光源からの光に反応するマーカを備えた キット。
