Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.マルチレイヤーデータ通信法において可変長バースト内のデータパケットを 物理的レイヤーを通じて通信するための装置であって,各バーストが(i)情報デ ータ及び(ii)フォワードエラー制御(FEC)データを含むオーバーヘッドを含み, 複数の有効グルーピングモードの選択されたひとつに従って前記情報データを ブロックへグループ分けするためのプログラム可能ブロックプロセッサと, 複数の可能符号化レベルの選択されたひとつに従って前記FECデータを有する 前記ブロックを符号化するためのプログラム可能FECエンコーダと, 前記ブロックを含むバーストに対するバースト送信粗さ及び付随する送信帯域 幅効率を達成するべく,前記ブロックプロセッサによって与えられる特定のグル ーピングモード及び前記FECエンコーダによって確立される特定の符号化レベル を使用するバーストモードを選択するためのインターフェースと, から成る装置。 2.請求項1に記載の装置であって,さらに,複数の有効変調モードのひとつに 従って送信用に符号化ブ ロックを変調するためのプログラム可能変調器であって,前記変調モードの特定 のひとつを与えるべく前記インターフェースを通じて選択されたバーストモード に応答するところの変調器, を含む装置。 3.請求項2に記載の装置であって,前記変調モードはQPSK及びQAMを含む, ところの装置。 4.請求項1に記載の装置であって,前記バーストは周波数アジリティを有する 時間及び周波数分割多重アクセス(F/TDMA)を使って通信チャネルを通じて送信さ れる, ところの装置。 5.請求項1に記載の装置であって,前記グルーピングモードの各々は前記バー ストによって運ばれる記号の送信用の特定の記号速度に付随する, ところの装置。 6.請求項5に記載の装置であって, 前記ブロックプロセッサは,前記情報データを含むプロトコルデータユニット (PDUs)をPDU長に無関係のユニットにブロック化し,かつ前記インターフェース を通じて選択されたバーストモードに応答して選択さ れた長さのプリアンブルを与え, 前記FECエンコーダは前記ユニットからのデータを選択されたバーストモード によって指定された多くの符号語へ符号化する, ところの装置。 7.請求項6に記載の装置であって,前記FECエンコーダは異なる長さの符号語 を与えるようプログラム可能である, ところの装置。 8.請求項6に記載の装置であって,さらに,前記FECエンコーダが前記ブロッ クを2つ以上の符号語へ符号化する際はいつでも符号語記号をインターリーブす るインターリーバから成る, ところの装置。 9.請求項6に記載の装置であって,さらに,複数の有効変調モードのひとつに 従って送信用に符号化ブロックを変調するためのプログラム可能変調器であって ,前記変調モードの特定のひとつを与えるべく前記インターフェースを通じて選 択されたバーストモードに応答するところの変調器, を含む装置。 10.請求項9に記載の装置であって,前記変調モー ドはQPSK及びQAMを含む, ところの装置。 11.請求項6に記載の装置であって,前記ブロックプロセッサによって,デー タがバースト内に含まれるところのPDUから引き出された最終ユニットは,当該 バースト内に含まれる先行ユニットより短くされ得る, ところの装置。 12.請求項lに記載の装置であって,前記ブロックは非同期転送モード(ATM) セルから成り,かつ前記ブロックプロセッサは前記インターフェースを通じて選 択されたバーストモードに基づいて特定数の前記セルを各ブロックへ割り当てる , ところの装置。 13.請求項12に記載の装置であって,前記ブロックプロセッサは,前記イン ターフェースを通じて選択されたバーストモードに依存して,ブロック当たり1 ,2若しくは4つのセルのいずれかを割り当てる, ところの装置。 14.請求項1に記載の装置であって,前記バーストモードは前記ブロックを含 むバーストに対する付随する待ち時間を達成するべく付加的に選択される, ところの装置。 15.請求項1に記載の装置であって, 前記ブロックプロセッサは,各々がバースト当たりひとつの符号語を有する可 変バースト長モードを与え, 前記バーストは,畳み込みFECコード及びトレリス符号化変調の少なくとも一 つを使って,畳み込んで符号化される, ところの装置。 16.請求項15に記載の装置であって,前記畳み込み符号化は,エラー補正外 部コードに連結された内部コードとして与えられる, ところの装置。 17.マルチレイヤーデータ通信法において可変長バースト内のデータパケット を物理的レイヤーを通じて通信するための方法であって,各バーストが(i)情報 データ及び(ii)フォワードエラー制御(FEC)データを含むオーバーヘッドを含み , それぞれが情報データグルーピングモード及びFEC符号化レベルを特定する, 複数の異なるバーストモードを与える工程と, 前記バーストモードのひとつを選択する工程と, 選択されたバーストモードによって特定されたグルーピングモードに従って, 前記情報データをブロックにグループ分けする工程と, 選択されたバーストモードにより特定された符号化レベルに従って,前記FEC データを有する前記ブロックを符号化する工程と, から成り, 前記バーストモードは,前記ブロックを含むバーストに対するバースト送信粗 さ及び付随する送信帯域幅効率を達成するべく選択される, ところの方法。 18.請求項17に記載の方法であって,前記バーストモードは,前記ブロック を含むバーストに対する付随する待ち時間を達成するべく付加的に選択される, ところの方法。 19.請求項18に記載の方法であって,前記異なるバーストモードは,帯域幅 効率,バースト送信粗さ及び待ち時間の少なくとも2つの間にトレードオフをも たらす, ところの方法。 20.請求項19に記載の方法であって,前記トレードオフは, (a)ブロック符号長及び符号速度を変化させることによる粗さと効率との間の トレードオフ, (b)プリアンブル長を変化させることによる粗さと効率との間のトレードオフ , (c)プロトコルデータユニット(PDUs)をバンドリングすることによる待ち時間 と効率との間のトレードオフ, (d)短いPDU用に符号語を長くしかつバンドリングすることによって待ち時間を 犠牲にした効率と粗さとの間のトレードオフ,及び (c)長いPDU用に符号語を短くしかつスロット境界を悪化させることによる効率 と粗さとの間のトレードオフ, の少なくとも一つから成る, ところの方法。
