- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.縦方向に細長く、かつ、第1および第2の逆方向のシート表面と、第1およ び第2の逆方向の側端とを有するシート材料のロールにおいて、その改良が、 感圧接着剤が、前記シート材料の前記第1側端に隣接する、前記シート材料の 第1シート表面の第1接着部分のみに所定のパターンで延在することと、 前記シートが、前記第1側端に隣接しかつ前記第1接着部分を含み、支持体に 接着されたときに、支持体上にあるイメージが前記シート材料を通して実質的に 目視可能となるに十分に透明である材料から形成されることと、 複数の縦方向に離隔され検出可能なイメージが、前記シート材料の前記第1接 着剤部分の所定の位置に配置されることと、を含むシート材料のロール。 2.前記第1接着部分が、前記シート材料の前記第1表面のほぼ半分として形成 される請求項1に記載のシート材料のロール。 3.前記シート材料が、その第2側端に隣接する第2タブ部分を有するシート材 料のロールであって、 前記シート材料の前記第2タブ部分の所定の位置に配置される複数の縦方向に 離隔された検出可能なタブイメージをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のシート材料 のロール。 4.前記シート材料の前記第1接着部分上の前記イメージが、縦方向に均等に離 隔され、前記シート材料の前記第2タブ部分上のタブイメージが縦方向に均等に 離隔されている、請求項3に記載のシート材料のロール。 5.前記シート材料がその第2側端に隣接する第2タブ部分を有するシート材料 のロールであって、 前記シート材料の前記第2タブ部分上に不透明な材料のコーティングをさらに 含む、請求項1に記載のシート材料のロール。 6.前記イメージが視覚的に容易に検出可能となるに十分なシート材料の視覚的 コントラストを有する請求項1に記載のシート材料のロール。 7.前記接着剤が再接着性感圧接着剤である、請求項1に記載のシート材料のロ ール。 8.ロール形態に巻かれる細長いライナーレスシーティングにおいて、その改良 が、 シーティングが、第1主面およびその逆の第2主面を有する可撓性の透明また は半透明な支持体から形成され、前記第1主面に部分的に配置される感圧接着剤 を有し、かつ、前記第1主面上に印刷される反復マークパターンを有し、この反 復パターンは、前記第1主面上に印刷されるマークの反復パターンを各々が保持 する等しい切断長の個々のシーティング片を切り離すことを容易にさせるための 標識として処理時に使用するためにシーティングのいずれかの面上で視認可能で あること含む、細長いライナーレスシーティング。 9.前記感圧接着剤が、前記巻シーティングの一端に沿って縦方向に配置される 再接着性感圧接着剤である、請求項8に記載のシーティング材料。 10.前記感圧接着剤が、各個々の切断シーティング片の第1主面の大部分を覆 うように配置される再接着性感圧接着剤である、請求項8に記載のシート材料。 11.前記マークが、前記支持体を横切って横方向に配置される不透明な矢印で ある、請求項8に記載のシート材料。 12.各シーティング0.4インチ(10.16mm)乃至2インチ(50.8mm)の縦方向の 範囲を有する請求項8に記載のシート材料。 13.第1および第2の側端を有し、前記感圧接着剤およびマークパターンが前 記第1側端に隣接するシーティングであって、 前記第2側端に隣接するシーティングの一方の面に不透明な材料のコーティン グをさらに含む、請求項8に記載のシーティング。 14.ライナーレス再接着性シートをそれに対応する一連の物品に逐次的に接着 する方法であって、 (a)第1主面とその逆の第2主面とを有し、感圧接着剤コーティングがシーテ ィングの第1主面に部分的に配置され、かつ、その第2主面には接着剤を含まな い巻ロール形態の細長いライナーレスシーティングを供給する工程と、 (b)前記細長いライナーレスシーティングの先端部分を、該先端部分が切断ス テーションに到達するまで、処理経路に沿って送る工程と、 (c)前記ライナーレスシーティングの先端部分を横方向に切断して第1前端と 第2後端とを有する第1切断シートを形成する工程と、 (d)弓形周囲表面を有する真空定盤を前記第1切断シートの前端に隣接する前 記第1切断シートの第2主面の少なくとも一部分に係合して位置合わせする工程 と、 (e)前記真空定盤の前記弓形円周表面の部分に負圧を作って前記切断ステーシ ョンの前記第1切断シートを該弓形円周表面に付着される工程と、 (f)表面を有する第1物品を前記真空定盤に隣接するアプリーケーターステー ションに送る工程と (g)前記真空定盤を移動して前記第1切断シートを前記切断ステーションから 前記アプリケーターステーションに搬送し、それによって前記第1切断シートが 前記第1物品の前記表面に配置するために位置合わせされる工程と、 (h)前記弓形円周表面にかかる負圧を除去して前記切断シートを前記真空定盤 から解放する工程と、 (i)前記第1切断シートの第1主面上の感圧接着剤が前記物品の前記表面に対 して押圧されて前記第1切断シートを前記物品の前記表面に接着させ るに、前記真空定盤を前記物品の前記表面を横切って移動させる工程と、 (j)工程(b)および(c)を繰返して前記細長いライナーレスシーティングから第 2切断シートを形成する工程と、 (k)前記真空定盤に関して工程(d)および(e)を前記第2切断シートに対して繰 返す工程と、 (l)表面を有する第2物品を前記真空定盤に隣接する前記アプリケーターステ ーションに送る工程と、 (m)前記第2切断シートに関して工程(g)、(h)および(i)を繰返して、位置合わ せし、前記真空定盤から解放し、次に、前記第2切断シートを前記真空定盤の前 記弓形円周面によって前記第2物品の表面に対して押圧する工程と、を含む方法 。 15.前記切断工程が、前記切断ステーションで前記処理経路を横切って横方向 に配置される回転ナイフを回転させる工程を含む、請求項14に記載の方法。 16.前記回転ナイフの各回転時に前記回転ナイフを清浄し、接着剤またはシー ト材料が前記ナイフに蓄積するのを防止する工程をさらに含む、請求項15に記載 の方法。 17.前記送りステップが、細長いライナーレスシーティングが前記処理経路に 巻出されるときに、細長いライナーレスシーティングの巻ロールを回転させる工 程を含む、請求項14に記載の方法。 18.前細長いライナーレスシーティングが、前記第1主面では、一連の縦方向 に配置される等間隔の視覚的標識を有し、 前記シーティングが前記処理経路に沿って送られるときに、前記シーティング の各視覚的標識を検出し、処理制御目的に使用される信号を生成する工程を含む 、請求項14に記載の方法。 19.前記細長いライナーレスシーティングが不透明である、請求項14に記載の 方法。 20.前記細長いライナーレスシーティングが光透過性である、請求項14に記載 の方法。 21.前記光透過性シーティングが、いずれかの面に、一連の縦方向に配置され る等間隔の視覚的標識を有し、 前記シーティングが処理経路に沿って送られるときに、前記シーティングの各 視覚的標識を検出し、制御処理目的に使用される信号を生成する工程をさらに含 む、請求項20に記載の方法。 22.感圧接着剤を塗布される前記細長ライナーレスシーティングの少なくとも その部分が光透過性である、請求項14に記載の方法。 23.各物品が前記移動工程時に、前記アプリケーターステーションを通って連 続的に送られる、請求項14に記載の方法。 24.前記真空定盤が、軸のまわりに回転可能であり、前記移動工程が、前記真 空定盤を前記軸の周りで回転させて、前記弓形周囲表面に前記切断ステーション およびアプリケーターステーションを通過させる工程を含む、請求項14に記載の 方法。 25.前記切断シートが前記物品に接着されて、1時間あたり30,000個までの接 着シート組立速度で、接着シート組体を形成する、請求項14に記載の方法。 26.前記送り工程が、前記処理経路に沿って細長いライナーレスシーティング に係合させて駆動ロールを回転させる工程と、 細長いライナーレスシーティングの前記供給ロールを巻出して、前記駆動ロー ルの回転を制御調節して前記シーティングを処理経路上に送る工程と、を含む請 求項14に記載の方法。 27.前記接着剤が再接着性感圧接着剤である、請求項14に記載の方法。 28.複数のシートを複数の移動中の物品に付着させる方法であって、 それぞれが少なくともその裏部分に再接着性感圧接着剤を有するシートの供給 源を提供する工程と、 それぞれが対応するシートを接着するために呈示される表面を有する物品の供 給源を提供する工程と、 1時間あたり3,000個以上の速度で前記シートを前記物品に逐次的に付着させ る工程と、 各シートをそれぞれの物品の表面に任意の平面座標の所望の位置から0.125イ ンチ(3.175mm)以内に位置合わせする工程と、を含む方法。 29.各切断シートが、前記物品の表面上の任意の平面座標の所望の位置から0.0 3125インチ(0.79375mm)以内に各物品上に位置合わせされる、請求項28に記載 の方法。 30.前記シート提供工程が、 シート材料のロールを提供する工程と、 前記シート材料を前記ロールから同じサイズを有する断片であって各々が1つ のシートを形成する断片に逐次的に切断する工程と、を含む、請求項28に記載の 方法。 31.前記ロールのシート材料が、その上に複数の同じ間隔の見当標識を有する 方法であって、前記位置合わせ工程が、 前記見当標識を検出する工程と、 前記見当標識の検出作用として前記シートを前記物品に位置合わせする工程と 、を含む、請求項30に記載の方法。 32.請求項28に記載の方法によって形成される物品とシートの組体。
