Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 電気伝導性材料からなる物体を検査するための装置であって、 物体内に電磁場を発生するための非静的信号送信器と、 非静的電磁場により発生される渦電流の変動を測定し、渦電流の減衰を表す信 号を作るための受信器とを有し、 非静的信号送信器は、横方向に一定の間隔だけ離れて配置され電磁場を放出す るための少なくとも2つの放出器を含み、 放出器は、通常動作中、放出器間の中心領域内で得られる電磁場が強化される ように駆動される、 電気伝導性材料からなる物体を検査するための装置。 2. 非静的信号送信器が、横方向に一定の間隔だけ離れて配置された少なくと も1対の放出器を含む、請求の範囲第1項記載の装置。 3. 横方向に一定の間隔だけ離れて配置された放出器の各対は、物体の近接表 面に実質的に平行に配置された第1放出器コイルと第2放出器コイルを含む、請 求の範囲第2項記載の装置。 4. 複数対の放出器コイルを含む、請求の範囲第2項又は第4項に記載の装置 。 5. 放出器コイルの中心が、物体の近接表面に垂直な平面内にある半円弧上に 配置され、放出器コイルが、該弧に垂直に配置される、請求の範囲第4項記載の 装置。 6. 強磁性材料からなる半円バーが、放出器コイル内部に配置される、請求の 範囲第5項記載の装置。 7. 横方向に一定の間隔だけ離れて配置された放出器が、物体の近接表面に実 質的に平行なコイルと、物体の近接表面に実質的に垂直な強磁性材料からなるバ ーとを含む、請求の範囲第1項記載の装置。 8. 横方向に一定の間隔だけ離れて配置された放出器が、物体の近接表面に実 質的に平行な8の字状の形態の放出器コイルから成る、請求の範囲第1項記載の 装置。 9. 受信器が、物体内の渦電流により発生された電磁場を受信するよう構成さ れた少なくとも1つの受信器コイルを含む、請求の範囲第1項〜第8項のいずれ か一項に記載の装置。 10. 受信器が、少なくとも1対の受信器コイルを含み、該受信器コイルは、 中心領域の両側に配置された第1受信器コイルと第2受信器コイルを含む、請求 の範囲第9項記載の装置。 11. 受信器コイルの各対が、対応する放出器コイルの対に整列して配置され る、請求の範囲第10項記載の装置。 12. 受信器コイルのサイズが、対応する放出器コイルのサイズより小さく、 受信器コイルの長手方向軸が、対応する放出器コイルの長手方向軸の間に延在す る、請求の範囲第11項記載の装置。 13. 各受信器コイルが、放出器コイルと物体の間に配置される、請求の範囲 第9項〜第12項のいずれか一項に記載の装置。 14. 電気伝導性材料からなる物体の厚さを測定する方法であって、 物体内にパルス渦電流を生じさせる工程、 渦電流の減衰を求めて減衰を表す信号を作る工程、及び 該信号から物体の厚さを求める工程、 を含み、信号から物体の厚さを求める工程が、 信号振幅の第1の大きさと、第1の大きさより小さい第2の大きさを選択する 工程、 信号が第1の大きさから第2の大きさまで減衰する時間間隔の長さを測定する 工程、及び 時間間隔の長さから物体の厚さを求める工程、 を含む、電気伝導性材料からなる物体の厚さを測定する方法。 15. 厚さ(Wt)が、次の関係式、 Wt=(ti−A)/B を用いて時間間隔の長さ(ti)から求められ、ここで、AとBは、予め決めら れた較正定数である、請求の範囲第14項記載の方法。
