Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 動作のための電力を必要とする生物医学装置を再充電可能なバッテリ及び外 部電源から動作するために電力を管理する電源管理システムにおいて、 外部電源が電源管理システムに接続されたときには外部電源から生物医学装 置を付勢し、そして外部電源が電源管理システムに接続されないときにはバッ テリから生物医学装置を付勢するための接続手段と、 充電制御信号に応答してバッテリに電荷を供給するためにバッテリに接続さ れた充電器と、 外部電源が電源管理システムに接続されたときには充電器に充電制御信号を 与えて充電器がバッテリに電荷を供給するようにし、バッテリにおける電荷量 の値を自動的に決定し、バッテリにおける電荷量の決定された値と、生物医学 装置の所要電力とに基づいてバッテリのランタイムを自動的に決定し、そして 上記ランタイムを表す表示信号を発生するプロセッサと、 上記表示信号に応答して上記決定されたランタイムを表示するディスプレイ とを備えたことを特徴とする電源管理システム。 2. 上記プロセッサは、バッテリから生物医学装置を動作することに基づいてバ ッテリにおける電荷量の値を自動的に減少し、そしてバッテリにおける電荷の 値の減少を反映するようにランタイムを自動的に更新する請求項1に記載の電 源管理システム。 3. 上記ランタイムのディスプレイとは別に、バッテリが完全に充電されたこと を指示する完全充電指示器を更に備え、 上記プロセッサは、バッテリの充電が完了した後に上記完全充電指示器を点 灯する請求項1に記載の電源管理システム。 4. 上記プロセッサは、バッテリの深い放電を行いそしてバッテリを完全に再充 電するように充電器を自動的に且つ周期的に制御する請求項1に記載の電源管 理システム。 5. 上記生物医学装置は、これが動作しているときにバッテリの深い充電を行う ようにプロセッサが充電器を制御するときにはバッテリから動作される請求項 4に記載の電源管理システム。 6. 上記プロセッサは、バッテリの所定率の自己放電に基づきバッテリにおける 電荷量の値の減少を自動的に計算する請求項1に記載の電源管理システム。 7. 上記プロセッサは、完全な充電サイクルを完了できないことに基づきバッテ リにおける電荷量の値の減少を自動的に決定する請求項1に記載の電源管理シ ステム。 8. 上記プロセッサは、完全な充電サイクルを完了することに基づきバッテリに おける電荷量の値の増加を自動的に決定する請求項7に記載の電源管理システ ム。 9. 上記プロセッサは、バッテリの劣化に基づき電荷を蓄積するためのバッテリ の計算された容量を自動機に調整する請求項1に記載の電源管理システム。 10.プロセッサに周囲温度信号を与える周囲温度センサを更に備え、プロセッサ は、バッテリの充電容量の値を含み、そしてプロセッサは、バッテリを充電す るときに周囲温度信号に基づき上記容量の値の減少を自動的に計算する請求項 1に記載の電源管理システム。 11.上記プロセッサは、バッテリが受けた放電/充電サイクルの数に基づいて電 荷を蓄積するようにバッテリの計算された容量を調整する請求項10に記載の 電源管理システム。 12.上記プロセッサは、サイクルが時間的に制限されない限りバッテリにダメー ジを生じるような率でバッテリに電荷を付与する高速充電サイクルと、この高 速充電サイクルに続くトップアップ充電サイクルと、バッテリの自己放電によ り失われた電荷を補充する浮動充電サイクルとにおいてバッテリを充電するよ うに充電器を制御する請求項1に記載の電源管理システム。 13.上記プロセッサは、周囲温度が所定のスレッシュホールドを越えるときには ホット充電サイクルにおいてバッテリを充電するように充電器を制御する請求 項12に記載の電源管理システム。 14.選択された動作モードに基づいて電力を必要とする生物医学装置を再充電可 能なバッテリ及び外部電源から動作するために電力を管理する電源管理システ ムにおいて、 外部電源が電源管理システムに接続されたときには外部電源から生物医学装 置を付勢し、そして外部電源が電源管理システムに接続されないときにはバッ テリから生物医学装置を付勢するための接続手段と、 充電制御信号に応答してバッテリに電荷を供給しそしてバッテリの深い放電 を行うためにバッテリに接続された充電器と、 外部電源が電源管理システムに接続されたときには充電器に充電制御信号を 与えて充電器がバッテリに電荷を供給するようにし、生物医学装置を付勢する ためのバッテリ使用を自動的に監視し、バッテリにおける電荷量の値を自動的 に計算しそしてバッテリの使用に基づいて上記値を自動的に更新し、バッテリ における電荷量の計算された値と、選択された動作モードでの生物医学装置の 現在の所要電力とに基づいてバッテリのランタイムを自動的に決定しそして上 記電荷量の値及び生物医学装置の所要電力が変化するときにランタイムを自動 的に更新し、そして上記ランタイムを表す表示信号を発生するプロセッサと、 上記表示信号に応答して上記決定されたランタイムを表示するディスプレイ とを備えたことを特徴とする電源管理システム。 15.上記プロセッサは、バッテリの深い放電を行いそしてバッテリを完全に再充 電するように充電器を自動的に且つ周期的に制御する請求項14に記載の電源 管理システム。 16.上記生物医学装置は、これが動作しているときにバッテリの深い充電を行う ようにプロセッサが充電器を制御するときにはバッテリ電源から動作される請 求項15に記載の電源管理システム。 17.上記生物医学装置は、これが動作しているときにバッテリの深い充電を行う ようにプロセッサが充電器を制御するときにはバッテリ電源から動作される請 求項16に記載の電源管理システム。 18.上記プロセッサは、完全な充電サイクルを完了できないことに基づきバッテ リにおける電荷量の値の減少を自動的に決定する請求項14に記載の電源管理 システム。 19.上記プロセッサは、完全な充電サイクルを完了することに基づきバッテリに おける電荷量の値の増加を自動的に決定する請求項18に記載の電源管理シス テム。 20.上記プロセッサは、サイクルが時間的に制限されない限りバッテリにダメー ジを生じるような率でバッテリに電荷を付与する高速充電サイクルと、この高 速充電サイクルに続くトップアップ充電サイクルと、バッテリの自己放電によ り失われた電荷を補充する浮動充電サイクルとにおいてバッテリを充電するよ うに充電器を制御する請求項14に記載の電源管理システム。 21.外部電源に接続でき、内部の再充電可能なバッテリを有し、そして動作のた めの電力を必要とする生物医学装置の電力を管理する方法において、 外部電源が接続されたときには外部電源から生物医学装置を付勢し、 外部電源が接続されないときには内部バッテリから生物医学装置を付勢し、 外部電源が接続されたときにバッテリを完全充電状態に充電し、 バッテリにおける電荷の量の値を自動的に決定し、 バッテリにおける電荷の量の上記決定された値と、生物医学装置の所要電力 とに基づいて、バッテリのランタイムを自動的に決定し、そして バッテリのランタイムの長さを表示する、 という段階を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 22.バッテリから生物医学装置を動作することに基づいてバッテリにおける電荷 量の値を自動的に減少し、そして バッテリにおける電荷の値の減少を反映するようにランタイムを自動的に更 新するという段階を含む請求項21に記載の方法。 23.バッテリ充電が完了した後にバッテリが完全に充電されたことをランタイム から個別に指示する段階を更に含む請求項21に記載の方法。 24.バッテリの深い放電を自動的及び周期的に行い、そしてバッテリを完全充電 状態に再充電する段階を更に備えた請求項21に記載の方法。 25.生物医学装置が動作されているときにバッテリの深い放電サイクルが開始さ れたときにはバッテリの深い放電を生じさせるためにバッテリから生物医学装 置を動作する段階を更に備えた請求項24に記載の方法。 26.バッテリの所定率の自己放電に基づきバッテリの電荷量の値の減少を自動的 に計算する段階を更に備えた請求項21に記載の方法。 27.バッテリの充電容量の値を指定し、そして バッテリを充電するときの周囲温度に基づいて上記容量の値の減少を自動的 に決定する段階を更に備えた請求項21に記載の方法。 28.完全な充電サイクルを完了できないことに基づいてバッテリに蓄積される電 荷量の値を自動的に減少する段階を更に備えた請求項21に記載の方法。 29.完全な充電サイクルを完了することに基づいてバッテリに蓄積される電荷量 の値を自動的に増加する段階を更に備えた請求項28に記載の方法。 30.サイクルが時間的に制限されない限りバッテリにダメージを生じるような率 でバッテリに電荷を付与する高速充電サイクルでバッテリを充電し、 この高速充電サイクルに続くトップアップ充電サイクルでバッテリを充電し 、そして バッテリの自己放電により失われた電荷を補充する浮動充電サイクルでバッ テリを充電する、 という段階を更に備えた請求項21に記載の方法。
