第2の実験において、幾つかの安定剤が、それらの濃度の破断伸びに対する効果を測定するために２つのコポリエーテルエステルについて135℃における老化においてテストされた。結果は時間(各々時間及び日)の関数として破断点伸び(％)を与える。
試料1-2：Arnitel(商標)EM400+ Irganox(商標)1330(各々0.5及び1.0重量％)

上記のように時間の関数として破断点伸びを比較すると、Arnitel(商標)E中のフェノール系安定剤の働きが安定剤濃度とともに増加しないことを明らかにする。このような効果と濃度の関係はポリプロピレンオキサイドを基礎としたArnitel(商標)PとIrganox(商標)1330においても存在することが明らかであるが、十分に長い時間十分に高い破断点延びを実現することができるためには非常に高濃度の使用がされることが予想されるだろう。しかし、高濃度のフェノール系安定剤は色に大きな悪影響を及ぼし、ブリードを生じさせ、従って避けられるだろう。Irganox(商標)1098ははるかに効果的であり組成物中の約1％のそれはほとんどの場合に十分に高い安定性を示す。しかしいわゆるブリード効果の理由でIrganox(商標)1098は一般的に約0.25％より高い濃度で使用されることができない。
実施例III
0.5重量％のIrganox(商標)1098及び0.5重量％の下記の第2安定剤がArnitel(商標)E40Dに加えられ、続いて120℃にさらされた試験片の破断点延びの変化として120℃における熱酸化安定性が測定された。
