Abstract

【課題】木製フープを採用したドラムにおけるラグボルトのボルトヘッドの掛止穴への打撃に対する耐久性を向上する。
【解決手段】ドラムの主体となる胴本体１の一方または両方の開放端に張設したドラムヘッド２を、ラグボルト５を緊締してフープ３により緊張するようにしたドラムにおいて、前記フープ３に形成したラグボルト５のボルトヘッド５ａの掛止穴３ａに補強リング６を圧入して固定する。

【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、打楽器として構成されたドラムに関するものであり、特に木製フープによりドラムヘッドを緊張するようにした前記木製フープの改良に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、打楽器として構成されたドラムの基本形態は、図３に示すごとく木質合板、合成樹脂繊維、軽金属などで円筒状に形成した胴本体１を主体とし、この胴本体１の一方または両方の開放端に天然皮革、合成樹脂フィルムなどからなるドラムヘッド２を配し、このドラムヘッド２にその外周を囲繞するフープ３を配置する。そして、複数のラグ（ヘッド緊張支持具）４のラグボルト５を緊締して一様な力で前記フープ３によりドラムヘッド２を緊張している。

このようなドラムにおける一般的な奏法は、スティクの先端でドラムヘッドを打撃するか、あるいはスティクの中間部でフープを打撃するリムショット奏法が知られている。リムショット奏法の場合、フープのみを打撃して鋭い高音を発生させたり、あるいはドラムヘッドと同時にフープを打撃し、多彩な演奏がなされている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、木製フープが採用されているドラムにおけるリムショット奏法の場合は、金属製フープにはない独特の音色が得られる反面、その耐久性に問題があった。即ち、木製フープの場合、ドラムヘッドを緊張するためのラグボルトのボルトヘッドの掛止穴が形成されており、この部分が肉薄となっているため、この部分がスティクにより度重なって打撃されると、図４に示すごとクラックＧが生じ、延いては破損を生じてしまうことになる。

本発明は、かかる木製フープを採用した従来のドラムの問題に鑑みなされたものであり、リムショット奏法によりラグボルトのボルトヘッドの掛止穴の部分が打撃されても、この部分にクラック、破損が生じないように耐久性を向上することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
そこで本発明は、ドラムの主体となる胴本体の一方または両方の開放端に張設したドラムヘッドを、ラグボルトを緊締してフープにより緊張するようにしたドラムにおいて、前記フープに形成したラグボルトのボルトヘッドの掛止穴に補強リングを圧入して固定し、フープを補強するようにする。

【発明の実施の形態】
つぎに、図１ならびに図２に示す本発明の実施の形態を詳細に説明する。なお、従来の構成と共通する部分には同一符号を付してその説明を省略する。

図１は本発明によるフープの構成状態を示すもので、符号３は木質素材による積層構造のフープを示す。このフープ３にはラグボルト５のボルトヘッド５ａの掛止穴３ａが所定位置に複数形成されている。そして、この掛止穴３ａに金属、あるいは合成樹脂で形成された補強リング６を圧入して固定する。

図２は本発明の完成状態の断面図であり、同図に示すごとく、補強リング６はフープ３の掛止穴３ａに完全に埋設され、掛止穴３ａと一体化する。これにより掛止穴３ａの部分は剛性が向上し、同図に示すごとくスティクによりこの部分を打撃しても、耐久性が向上しているので、従来のごとく、クラック、破損が生じることがない。

なお、上記本発明のフープ３の製造過程において、補強リング６の圧入時に、必要に応じて接着剤を塗布して固定するようにしてもよい。また、補強リング６の掛止穴３ａへの圧入固定は、リムショット奏法がなされる部分に対し選択的に行うようにしてもよい。

【発明の効果】
以上詳細に説明したごとく本発明によれば、木製フープにおけるラグボルトのボルトヘッドの掛止穴が確実に補強され、この部分でリムショット奏法がなされ、強い打撃を受けてもクラック、破損が生じることがない。したがって、演奏者にドラムの破損などに対する心理的な影響を与えることなく、また、経時的に外観の損なわれることのないドラムとすることができる。

Claims (1)

  1. ドラムの主体となる胴本体の一方または両方の開放端に張設したドラムヘッドを、ラグボルトを緊締してフープにより緊張するようにしたドラムにおいて、
    前記フープに形成したラグボルトのボルトヘッドの掛止穴に補強リングを圧入して固定したことを特徴とするドラム。
