Description

【0001】

x=W×tanθ2/(tanθ1+tanθ2) …(1)
y=H−W×tanθ1×tanθ2/(tanθ1+tanθ2)…(2)
【0066】
θd=arctan(D/f) ・・・(3)
【0106】
【0124】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a coordinate detection device that detects coordinates of a touch point input on a coordinate input surface.
[0002]
[Prior art]
At present, a display device with a touch panel, which integrates a display screen and a coordinate input device and can control an image displayed on the display screen while touching the display screen, is becoming widespread. Also, a relatively large-sized display device with a touch panel is known, which is intended for use in school lessons, presentations at companies, and the like.
[0003]
An optical coordinate input device is known. The optical coordinate input device calculates the coordinates of the position by detecting the direction of the position input on the coordinate input surface from two directions. FIG. 19 shows an example of a conventional optical coordinate detecting device. The coordinate input device 300 surrounds three sides of the optical units 303a and 303b arranged at both ends of the coordinate input surface 301, the coordinate input surface 301 used for inputting the coordinates, and the coordinate input surface 301, and the light that has entered. Reflective portions 302a, 302b, and 302c that recursively reflect light in the direction in which light has entered.
[0004]
Each of the optical units 303a and 303b has a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit (not shown). The light emitting unit irradiates light that spreads in a fan shape substantially parallel to the coordinate input surface 301, and the light receiving unit receives the light that has been reflected by the reflecting units 302a, 302b, and 302c and returned recursively. The coordinate input device 300 receives the coordinates input to the coordinate input surface 301 based on the light blocking directions (θL, θR) detected by the two optical units 303a and 303b and the distance between the optical units 303a and 303b. Can be calculated.
[0005]
However, for example, as shown in FIG. 19, when points A and B in a positional relationship such that the right optical unit 303a is arranged on a straight line passing through points A and B are simultaneously touched. Although the accuracy of the coordinates of the point A near the optical unit 303a can be maintained, the accurate direction of the point B cannot be detected due to the influence of the umbra or penumbra of the point A, and the accuracy of the coordinates of the point B cannot be maintained. . That is, there is a problem that the optical unit 303a can calculate only the coordinates of the touch point B as the estimated value.
[0006]
As a method for solving such a problem, a mirror that can be rotated by 360 ° is provided, and when one optical unit detects only one direction in spite of two touches, only one point is detected. There is known a technique of irradiating a mirror with light on the side of an optical unit not to be rotated, rotating the mirror, and detecting two points from a rotation angle (for example, see Patent Document 1).

The coordinate input surface 101 is a rectangular surface, and is a user interface used when a user touches with a pointing rod such as a pen or a finger to input a touch point.
[0050]
Each of the optical units 102a to 102g has a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit. The light emitting unit emits light, and the light receiving unit receives the light reflected by the reflecting units 103a to 103d. The light emitting unit and the light receiving unit will be described later in detail with reference to FIG.
[0051]
Each of the direction detection units 104a to 104g detects a touch point direction detected by the corresponding optical unit 102a to 102g. More specifically, each of the direction detection units 104a to 104g inputs information of light detected by each of the optical units 102a to 102g as analog data. Note that the analog data is information indicating the optical axis of light that should be received at a position where the light from the light receiving unit was not received among the light radiated in a fan shape, that is, the touch point direction.
[0052]
Here, for example, a combination of the first optical unit 102a and the first direction detecting unit 104a constitutes a direction detecting unit in the present invention. Similarly, each combination of the other optical units 102b to 102g and the direction detecting units 104b to 104g constitutes a direction detecting unit in the present invention.
[0053]
The main control unit 105 receives the touch point direction from each of the direction detection units 104a to 104g, and calculates touch point coordinates that are coordinates of the touch point based on the touch point direction. The main control unit 105 further selects a predetermined optical unit 102 from the optical units 102a to 102g, and calculates touch point coordinates based on the touch point direction detected by the selected optical unit. The main control unit 105 also controls the driving of each optical unit 102. Here, the main control unit 105 forms a calculation control unit of the present invention.
[0054]
The interface unit 106 receives the touch point coordinates from the main control unit 105 and sends it to a personal computer (PC) 110 as an external device.
[0055]
The detailed configuration and functions of the display device with a touch panel 100 will be described later.
[0056]
Here, the positional relationship between the optical units 102a to 102g and the reflection units 103a to 103d will be described. FIG. 2 shows optical units 102a to 102d arranged on the lower side 101d side, optical units 102e to 102g arranged on the upper side 101b side, a reflection unit 103d arranged on the lower side 101d side, and reflection arranged on the upper side 101b side. It is the figure which looked at section 103b from the X-axis direction. As shown in FIG. 2, each of the optical units 102a to 102g is provided at a position in contact with the coordinate input surface 101. The reflection unit 103d and the reflection unit 103b are provided at positions in contact with the optical units 102a to 102d and the optical units 102e to 102g, respectively. The reflection unit 103d and the reflection unit 103b are provided at a position further away from the coordinate input surface 101. That is, the reflector 103b and the reflector 103d are arranged with a gap provided between the reflector and the coordinate input surface 101.
[0057]
For example, when the reflection unit 103d is arranged at a position overlapping with the passage area 510 through which the light emitted from the light emitting unit of the first optical unit 102a passes, the light emitted from the light emitting unit of the first optical unit 102a faces You can not reach the side to do. That is, it is impossible to reach the reflecting portion 103b arranged on the upper side 101b. On the other hand, the reflecting section 103d according to the present embodiment is arranged at a position close to the passing area 510 and not overlapping. Therefore, even when the optical unit is arranged on each of the opposing sides as in the present embodiment, the light emitted from the light emitting unit on each side is reliably transmitted to the reflecting units arranged on the opposing sides. Can be reached.
[0058]
More specifically, the reflection unit 103b and the reflection unit 103d are positioned at a position perpendicular to the coordinate input surface 101 of the pass area 510, that is, at a position separated from the coordinate input surface 101 by an interval corresponding to the width 512 along the Z axis. Are located.
[0059]
When a plurality of optical units 102 are arranged on opposite sides, when the optical unit 102 arranged on one side detects the direction of the touch point, the optical unit 102 arranged on the other side becomes an obstacle. There was an inconvenience. However, as in the display device 100 with a touch panel according to the present embodiment, by providing the reflection unit 103 at a position separated from the coordinate input surface 101, any of the optical units 102 can adjust the touch point direction to the other optical unit 102. The touch point direction can be reliably detected without hindering the detection.
[0060]
The reflecting section 103d has a width substantially equal to the width of the light emitted from the light emitting section of the optical unit 102e in the vertical direction at the position of the reflecting section 103d, that is, in the Z-axis direction. Light emitted from the light emitting unit spreads radially. Therefore, the light emitted from the light emitting unit of the second optical unit 102b has a width 518 at the position of the reflecting unit 103d. Therefore, it is preferable that the reflecting portion 103d be formed to have a width substantially equal to the width of the light emitted from the light emitting portion of the optical unit 102e in the Z-axis direction.
[0061]
FIG. 3 is an example of the relationship between the width of the reflection unit 103b and the distance between the reflection unit 103b and the optical unit 102a when the reflection unit 103b is arranged at a position where the distance 516 from the first optical unit 102a is about 1800 mm. Is shown. At a position where the distance 516 from the optical unit 102a is about 1800 mm, the width 518 of the light emitted from the optical unit 102a is about 5 mm. Therefore, when providing the reflecting portion 103d at a position 1800 mm from the optical unit 102a, it is preferable to provide the reflecting portion 103d with a width of 1800 mm or more.
[0062]
Although the configuration of the optical unit 102 disposed on the lower side and the reflecting unit 103 disposed on the upper side has been described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, the optical unit 103 disposed on the upper side and the lower side The same applies to the configuration of the reflection unit 103 arranged on the side.
[0063]
In addition, since the optical unit 102 is not provided on the left side 101a and the right side 101c of the coordinate input surface 101, the reflecting units 103a and 103c provided on the left side 101a and the right side 101c respectively correspond to those shown in FIGS. As described with reference to the drawings, it is not necessary to be located at a position separated from the coordinate input surface 101, and the arrangement of the reflecting portions 103a and 103c may be provided at a position in contact with the coordinate input surface 101 or may be separated. It may be provided at a position.
[0064]
Further, only the position overlapping the optical unit 102 among the reflection units 103b and 103d may be at a position separated from the optical unit 102, and the installation position of the reflection unit 103 at other positions is not limited. As another example, the reflection unit 103b and the reflection unit 103d, which are notched at a portion overlapping with the optical unit, may be arranged at a position in contact with the coordinate input surface. Also in this case, the light emitted from the adjacent light emitting unit 121 can reach the reflecting unit disposed on the side opposite to the light passing through the cutout portions of the reflecting unit 103b and the reflecting unit 103d.
[0065]
FIG. 4 is a diagram for explaining the principle by which the direction detection unit 104 and the main control unit 105 calculate touch point coordinates. The case where the coordinates of the touch point T are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the first optical unit 102a and the sixth optical unit 102f will be described with reference to FIG. First, assuming that the height of the coordinate input surface 101, that is, the length of the short side is H, and the width of the coordinate input surface 101, that is, the length of the long side is W, a straight line passing through the first optical unit 102a and the touch point T The angle θ1 of the angle formed by the line 500 and the straight line 504 passing through the first optical unit 102a and the sixth optical unit 102f is calculated. That is, the angle θ1 indicates the direction of the touch point detected by the first optical unit 102a. Further, the angle θ2 between the straight line 502 and the straight line 504 passing through the sixth optical unit 102f and the touch point T is calculated. That is, the angle θ2 indicates the direction of the touch point detected by the sixth optical unit 102f. Further, the coordinates (x, y) of the touch point T are calculated by substituting the angles θ1 and θ2 into the following equation.
x = W × tan θ2 / (tan θ1 + tan θ2) (1)
y = H−W × tan θ1 × tan θ2 / (tan θ1 + tan θ2) (2)
[0066]
In this figure, the principle has been described in which the optical units 102a to 102d arranged on the lower side calculate touch point coordinates. However, the method in which the optical units 102e to 102g arranged on the upper side calculate touch point coordinates is described. Is the same as the method in which the optical units a to d arranged on the lower side calculate touch point coordinates.
[0067]
FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating a process of the display device with a touch panel 100 when the coordinate input surface 101 is touched. When the user touches the coordinate input surface 101 with a pen or the like, each of the optical units 102a to 102g detects the shielded direction corresponding to the touch point, that is, the touch point direction (step S100). Then, the main control unit 105 determines the number of input touch points (step S102).
[0068]
Here, a method in which the main control unit 105 determines the number of touch points will be described. The main control unit 105 sequentially determines the touch point directions received from all the optical units 102a to 102g. For example, when all of the optical units 102a to 102g detect only one touch point direction, it is possible to determine that the touch point is only one point. When the units 102a to 102g detect only one touch point direction, it is determined that one touch point has been input.
[0069]
Note that, as another example, when all (ie, (n−1)) optical units among n optical units detect only one touch point direction, the main control unit 105 performs one touch. It may be determined that a point has been input. Specifically, this is a case where all the optical units 102a to 102g, that is, five optical units out of the six optical units 102a to 102g detect only one touch point direction.
[0070]
Also, in theory, when at least two optical units 102 detect only one touch point direction, it is not necessary to consider the touch point directions of all the optical units 102a to 102g. Can be determined to be only one point. Therefore, as still another example, the main control unit 105 may determine that one touch point has been input when detecting one touch point direction from at least two optical units 102.
[0071]
In addition, when at least one optical unit 102 detects two touch point coordinates that are separated from each other almost simultaneously, the main control unit 105 determines that the number of touch points is two.
[0072]
The processing of the display device with a touch panel 100 will be described again with reference to FIG. When only one touch point is input (Step S102, Yes), the main control unit 105 selects any two optical units 102 from all the optical units 102a to 102g (Step S104). Then, based on the touch point directions detected by the two selected optical units 102, the main control unit 105 calculates the touch point coordinates by the above-described equations (1) and (2) (step S106).
[0073]
When there is only one touch point, there is no problem that the coordinates of the touch point cannot be accurately calculated. Therefore, when the touch point coordinates are calculated based on the touch point direction detected by any two optical units 102. Therefore, a value having a small error can be calculated, and any two optical units 102 may be selected.
[0074]
As described above, when calculating the touch point coordinates, only the calculation of the touch point coordinates based on the touch point directions detected by the two optical units 102 is performed, so that the arithmetic processing is simplified and the load on the apparatus for the processing is reduced. can do. That is, the calculation processing of the touch point coordinates based on the touch point direction detected by another optical unit 102 can be omitted.
[0075]
At this time, the two optical units 102 to be selected may be set in advance.
[0076]
On the other hand, when one of the lower optical units 102 detects two touch point directions (No in step S102), the main control unit 105 detects that another optical unit disposed on the lower side. Determine the direction of the touch point. When determining that the three or more optical units arranged on the lower side have detected two touch point directions (Yes in step S110), the main control unit 105 determines whether the optical units arranged on the lower side have been detected. Two combinations of two arbitrary optical units that have detected two touch point directions are selected (step S112), and two touch point coordinates are calculated from each combination (step S114).
[0077]
A process of calculating touch point coordinates from two combinations of the optical units arranged on the lower side will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 shows a case where points P and Q are touched simultaneously. When the first optical unit 102a, the second optical unit 102b, and the third optical unit 102c detect the touch point directions corresponding to these two points, the main control unit 105, for example, performs the first optical unit 102a and the second optical unit 102a. Based on the touch point directions detected by the unit 102b corresponding to the points P and Q, the touch point coordinates are calculated from Expressions (1) and (2). However, when the coordinates are calculated using the equations (1) and (2), the coordinates of the virtual points R and S are calculated in addition to the actual touch points P and Q. Therefore, it is difficult to select the actual touch points P and Q from these four coordinates.
[0078]
However, in the present embodiment, based on the touch point directions detected by the first optical unit 102a and the third optical unit 102c corresponding to the points P and Q, respectively, the virtual optical system further includes virtual points 4. One coordinate is calculated, and the touch point coordinates calculated from any of the two combinations can be determined as the true touch point coordinates. As described above, by using the touch point directions detected by at least three optical units 102, the true touch point coordinates can be easily determined from the virtual touch point coordinates and the true touch point coordinates. it can.
[0079]
In this embodiment, two touch point coordinates are calculated based on a combination of touch point directions detected by the three optical units. However, as another example, two touch point coordinates are calculated from two combinations of four direction detection units. The coordinates of two touch points may be calculated, and which direction detecting unit is selected and which direction detecting unit is combined with each other is not particularly limited to the embodiment.
[0080]
Here, the processing of the main control unit 105 when two touch points are input simultaneously will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 8 and 9. As shown in FIG. 8, when the point B is a point on a straight line connecting the first optical unit 102a and the point A, the point B is included in the shadow formed by the point A. Therefore, in this case, the optical unit 102a can detect only one touch point direction even though two points are input. Therefore, when only two optical units are provided as in the related art, the touch point directions of the points A and B cannot be accurately detected.
[0081]
On the other hand, the display device with a touch panel 100 of the present embodiment includes four optical units 102a to 102d on the lower side, so that, for example, the first optical unit 102a separates two touch point directions. If the detection is not possible, the touch point coordinates can be calculated based on the two touch point directions detected by the second optical unit 102b and the fourth optical unit 102d.
[0082]
As described above, since the plurality of optical units 102 detect two touch points, it is possible to select the most reliable optical unit that detects the direction of the touch point according to the positions of the two touch points. Good. Specifically, the priority order of the optical unit to be selected may be determined in advance according to the position of the touch point.
[0083]
Further, in the present embodiment, since three optical units 102e to 102g are also provided on the upper side, only one or less of the four optical units 102a to 102d on the lower side have two touch point directions. Is not detected, two touch point coordinates can be calculated based on the two touch point directions detected by the two optical units on the upper side.
[0084]
FIG. 9 shows a state of a touch point when a hand is input with a touch pen while holding a hand. The positions of the touch area M corresponding to the touch pen and the touch area N corresponding to the hand on the coordinate input surface 101 are close to each other, and their sizes are extremely different from each other. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 9, even when the mirror 400 is provided between the two optical units 420a and 420b, the touch area M corresponding to the pen is hidden by the touch area N corresponding to the hand. Therefore, the coordinates of the touch area M and the touch area N cannot be accurately calculated. In this case, by changing the position of the mirror 400, it is possible to detect the direction of the touch area with respect to the two areas. However, it is not possible to detect all two points on the entire coordinate input surface 101.
[0085]
On the other hand, in the display device 100 with a touch panel according to the present embodiment, since the optical units 102 are provided on the lower side and the upper side, respectively, two touch points close to each other as shown in FIG. Two touch points having different sizes can be accurately separated and detected. Specifically, when the touch point M and the touch point N shown in FIG. 9 are input, only one of the lower optical units 102a to 102d can detect two touch point directions, Even if the optical unit cannot detect the directions of the two touch points, two of the optical units on the upper side can detect the directions of the two touch points.
[0086]
The description is returned to FIG. When two touch points are input (No at Step S102) and three or more optical units on the lower side 101d do not detect two touch point directions (No at Step S110), that is, two touch points exist. If the number of the determined optical units is two or less, the number in the touch point direction detected by the plurality of optical units arranged on the side opposite to the upper side 101a is determined.
[0087]
When three or more optical units among the optical units arranged on the other side have detected two touch point directions (Yes in step S120), two sets of optical units that have detected the two touch point directions are used. Is selected (step S122).
[0088]
Then, the process proceeds to step S114 to calculate true touch point coordinates from the touch point coordinates calculated from the combination of the optical units (steps S114 and S116).
[0089]
FIG. 10 shows points P and Q touched at the same time, and three optical units 102e to 102g on the upper side 101b side that have detected these points as different touch point directions. In this case, for example, four touch point coordinates are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the fifth optical unit 102e and the sixth optical unit 102f corresponding to the points P and Q, respectively. Further, four touch point coordinates are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the fifth optical unit 102e and the seventh optical unit 102g corresponding to the points P and Q, respectively. Then, the touch point coordinates calculated from any of the two combinations are determined as true touch point coordinates.
[0090]
The description is returned to FIG. 5 again. Two touch points are input (Step S102, No), and three or more optical units on both the lower side 101d side and the upper side 101b side do not detect two touch point directions (Step S110, No, Step S120, No). If the two optical units disposed on the upper side 101b and the two optical units disposed on the lower side 101d detect two touch point directions (Yes in step S130), the optical units are disposed on the lower side 101d. The touch point coordinates are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the two optical units, and the touch point coordinates are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the two optical units on the upper side 101b (step S132). Then, the process proceeds to step S114, where two overlapping touch point coordinates among the touch point coordinates calculated from each combination are determined as true touch point coordinates (step S114, step S116).
[0091]
FIG. 11 shows points P and Q touched at the same time, two optical units 102f and 102g on the upper side 101b side and two optical units 102b and 102c on the lower side 101d side which have detected these points as different touch point directions. ing. In this case, four touch point coordinates including four virtual coordinates are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the second optical unit 102b and the third optical unit 102c corresponding to the points P and Q, respectively. Further, four touch point coordinates including virtual coordinates are calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the sixth optical unit 102f and the seventh optical unit 102g corresponding to the points P and Q, respectively. Then, the touch point coordinates calculated from any of the two combinations are determined as true touch point coordinates.
[0092]
As described above, since the optical units are disposed on both the upper side 101b side and the lower side 101d side of the coordinate input surface 101, the touch point coordinates are determined based on the touch point directions detected by the optical units disposed on both sides. Can be calculated.
Here, the upper side and the lower side of the coordinate input surface 101 constitute the first side and the second side of the present invention.
[0093]
The description is returned to FIGS. 5 and 6 again. Two touch points are input (step S102, No), and only two optical units detect two touch point directions on at least one side of the upper side and the lower side, and one optical point is detected on the other side. When only the unit detects the touch point direction, and at least one of the optical units detects the two touch point directions on at least one of the upper side and the lower side, and on the other side, both of the optical units detect the touch point direction. In the case where one touch point direction is not detected (Step S110, No, Step S120, No, Step S130, No), four touch point coordinates are calculated based on the two touch point directions detected by the two optical units ( Step S140). Note that the coordinates of the center of the touch point are calculated as the touch point coordinates.
[0094]
Further, the width of the two touch points is calculated (step S142), and the coordinates of the touch point corresponding to the touch point having a value close to the width of the touch point are determined as the coordinates corresponding to the true touch area (step S144). Thus, the process of the display device with a touch panel 100 ends.
[0095]
FIG. 12 is a schematic diagram illustrating the relationship between the touch points P and Q and the touch point directions detected by the first optical unit 102a and the second optical unit 102b. For example, when a hand is touched on the coordinate input surface 101 and input is performed with a touch pen or the like, as shown in FIG. 12, a touch point P touched by the touch pen and a touch point Q touched by the touched hand are input. . In this case, based on the touch point directions detected by the two optical units 102a and 102b, the touch point coordinates of the virtual touch points K and L in addition to the touch points P and Q are calculated.
[0096]
Therefore, the optical unit 102a further detects a continuous touch point direction having a width of the angle θ3 corresponding to the touch point P. The optical unit 102a also detects a continuous touch area direction having a width of the angle θ4 corresponding to the touch point Q. On the other hand, the optical unit 102b detects a continuous touch point direction having an angle θ5 corresponding to the touch point P, and detects a continuous touch point direction having an angle θ6 corresponding to the touch point Q.
[0097]
As shown in FIG. 12, the true touch point (P, Q) is generally an area closer to a circle than the virtual touch point (K, L). Therefore, the main control unit 105 determines, as a true touch area, a touch area that is detected by the optical unit 102a and the optical unit 102b and has a close angle in a continuous touch area direction.
[0098]
Note that, in the present embodiment, the main control unit 105 sequentially executes the second optical unit 102b, the third optical unit 102c, and the fourth optical unit 102 from the touch point direction detected by the first optical unit 102a disposed on the lower side 101d. The touch point direction is determined in the order of the unit 102d, the fifth optical unit 102e, the sixth optical unit 102f, and the seventh optical unit 102g. As another example, the optical unit 102 arranged on the upper side 101b side detects the touch point direction. The determination may be made sequentially from the touched point direction.
[0099]
As described above, when two touch points are input and only the touch point directions detected by the two optical units can be obtained, the coordinates of the two touch points can be determined based on the angle range of the touch point directions. .
[0100]
FIG. 13 shows a detailed configuration of the optical unit 102. FIG. 13A shows a state in which the optical unit 102 is viewed in a direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the irradiation light, that is, in the x-axis direction, in a plane parallel to the coordinate input surface 101. FIG. 13B shows a state in which the optical unit 102 is viewed from the traveling direction of the irradiation light, that is, the y-axis direction.
[0101]
The optical unit 102 includes a light emitting unit 121, a light receiving unit 125 that receives light reflected from the reflecting units 103a to 103d, and a half mirror 124 that controls the direction of light. Further, the light emitting unit 121 includes lenses 123a to 123c that diffuse the light emitted from the light source 122 in a fan shape. Further, the light receiving unit 125 includes a condenser lens 126 for condensing light passing through the half mirror 124, and a line sensor 127 in which a plurality of light receiving elements such as a photo sensor are connected.
[0102]
Since the reflected light reaches the light receiving elements arranged at different positions of the line sensor 127, the shielding direction can be detected based on the position where the light receiving element that has detected the reflected light is arranged.
[0103]
FIG. 14 is a schematic diagram for explaining the principle by which the light receiving unit 125 detects the touch point direction. When a finger touches a certain position U on the coordinate input surface 101, the irradiation light is blocked, and the reflected light does not reach a corresponding point on the line sensor 127 corresponding to the direction. That is, as shown in FIG. 14, when a finger that blocks light touches a position U on the coordinate input surface 101, the light passing therethrough is blocked. A point occurs. The position D of the dark point corresponds one-to-one with the shielding direction (position U). Therefore, the shielding direction can be detected based on the dark spot detected by the line sensor 127.
[0104]
Note that a shaded filter may be provided downstream of the cylindrical lens 123c or upstream of the line sensor 127 so that the received light intensity in the line sensor 127 is uniform. This eliminates the need to set a direction-dependent threshold value for each element of the line sensor 127, and facilitates control.
[0105]
The main control unit 105 calculates the position of the coordinate A from the shielding direction based on the dark spot D. The dark point D has a one-to-one correspondence with a detection angle obtained by measuring an indicator rod, a finger, or the like from the optical axis, and the detection angle can be calculated from the position D of the dark point on the line sensor 127. When the distance from the light receiving lens 126 to the line sensor 127 is f, the detection angle θd is given by Expression (3) as a function of the position D of the dark spot.
θd = arctan (D / f) (3)
[0106]
Note that, strictly speaking, the relationship of Expression (3) does not hold due to refraction of light by the light receiving lens 126. However, since the relationship between the detection angle θd and D / f is uniquely determined, here, for simplicity, it is assumed that Expression (3) holds. Note that the optical axis indicates the optical axis of the light receiving lens 126.
[0107]
By substituting the angle calculated as described above, that is, the touch point direction θd, into the above-described equations (1) and (2), the touch point coordinates of the touch point U can be calculated.
[0108]
Next, a detailed hardware configuration of the display device with a touch panel 100 will be described with reference to FIG. Although only one optical unit 102 and one direction detecting unit 104 are shown in FIG. 1 for convenience, all the optical units 102a to 102g and all the direction detecting units included in the display device 100 with a touch panel are shown. 104a to 104g have the same configuration and function as the optical unit 102 and the direction detection unit 104 shown in FIG.
[0109]
The optical unit 102 has a light emitting unit 200 including an LD 122 and a light receiving unit 210 including a line sensor 127. The line sensor 127 is driven by an image processing LSI (described later) of the direction detection unit 104.
[0110]
The direction detection unit 104 includes a CPU 401 that controls the entire direction detection unit 104, a ROM 402 that stores a program for detecting a touch point direction, a RAM 403 that is used as a work memory, an image processing LSI 404 that performs image processing and the like, It has a data storage memory 405 for storing data from the unit 102 and a shading memory 406 for storing reference data for performing shading correction.
[0111]
The main control unit 105 includes a CPU 501 for controlling the entire main control unit 105, a ROM 502 for storing a program for controlling the system, a RAM 503 used as a work memory, and an interface control unit 504 for controlling the interface unit 106. are doing.
[0112]
In the present embodiment, the RAM 503 used as a work memory and the data storage memory 405 for storing data from the optical unit 102 are separately provided, but these are provided in one memory. You may. In this case, each of the divided areas in one memory functions as a work memory and a memory for storing data from the optical unit 102.
[0113]
When a plurality of optical units are independently driven, when a touch point is input to the coordinate input surface 101, the touch point direction is detected in one optical unit, but the touch point is detected in another optical unit. Troubles such as not being performed. For this reason, the CPU 501 of the main control unit 105 generates a trigger and drives the LD 122 according to the generated trigger to make the timing of light emission of each LD the same. Further, a trigger signal 520 is sent to the image processing LSI 404 of each direction detection unit 104. Then, the image processing LSI 404 drives the line sensor 127 according to the trigger signal 520.
[0114]
As a result, all of the plurality of optical units 102a to 102g are driven synchronously, so that all of the optical units 102a to 102g can detect the touch point direction at the same timing. That is, under the control of the main control unit 105, the light emitting unit 121 emits light at the same timing, and the light receiving unit 125 receives the reflected light at the same timing, that is, detects the touch point direction.
[0115]
FIG. 16 shows the light emission and light reception timings of the light emitting unit 121 and the light receiving unit 125 of each of the optical units 102a to 102d. FIG. 16A shows the light receiving timing of the light receiving unit 125 on the upper side. FIG. 16B illustrates the light emission timing of the light emitting unit 121 on the upper side. FIG. 16C illustrates the light receiving timing of the light receiving unit 125 on the lower side. FIG. 16D shows the light emission timing of the light emitting unit 121 on the lower side.
[0116]
The light emission timing of the light emitting unit 121 on the upper side coincides with the light receiving timing of the light receiving unit 125 on the upper side. In addition, the light emission timing of the light emitting unit 121 on the lower side coincides with the light receiving timing of the light receiving unit 125 on the lower side.
[0117]
Further, the light emitting units 121 on the upper side and the light emitting units 121 on the lower side emit light alternately. That is, when the upper side light emitting unit 121 emits light, the lower side light emitting unit 121 is turned off, and when the lower side light emitting unit 121 is emitting light, the upper side light emitting unit 121 is turned off. I have. Correspondingly, the upper side light receiving section 125 and the lower side light receiving section 125 also receive light at alternate timings.
[0118]
The light emitting unit 121 and the light receiving unit 125 of the plurality of optical units 102 on the upper side all emit and receive light at the same timing. Further, the light emitting section 121 and the light receiving section 125 of the plurality of optical units 102 on the lower side all emit and receive light at the same timing.
[0119]
Light emitted from the optical unit 102 is diffused parallel to the coordinate input surface 101. Since the optical unit 102 is arranged on the opposite side of the coordinate input surface 101, the light emitted from the light emitting unit of the optical unit on one side enters the light receiving unit of the optical unit arranged on the other side. Light. Therefore, for example, when the light emission timing of the upper light emitting unit and the light reception timing of the lower light receiving unit match, the touch point is erroneously detected. Therefore, as described with reference to FIG. 16, the timing of light emission and light reception of the light emitting unit and light receiving unit of the upper optical unit, the timing of light emission and light reception of the light emitting unit and light receiving unit of the lower optical unit, and Can be prevented from being erroneously detected.
[0120]
The CPU 401 of the direction detection unit 104 and the CPU 501 of the main control unit 105 perform serial communication, and transmit and receive a detection start instruction indicating that detection is to be started, and a detected touch point direction (510).
[0121]
The CPU 401 of the direction detection unit 104 and the CPU 501 of the main control unit 105 transmit and receive a detection start instruction and a dip detection position through this serial communication.
[0122]
Although a serial interface is used in the present embodiment, as another example, a dedicated interface may be used because communication is performed inside the apparatus.
[0123]
As described above, the present invention has been described using the embodiment. However, various changes or improvements can be added to the above embodiment.
[0124]
As a first modified example, in the present embodiment, the optical units 102a to 102g are provided on the upper side 101b side and the lower side 101d side of the coordinate input surface 101, respectively. 102a to 102g may be provided on the left side 101a side and the lower side 101c side of the coordinate input surface 101, respectively. FIG. 17 shows optical units 102a to 102g according to the first modification.
[0125]
As described above, even when the optical units 102a to 102g are arranged on the left side 101a and the right side 101c of the coordinate input surface 101, the optical units are arranged on the upper side 101b and the lower side 101d described in the embodiment. As in the case, even when two touch points are input at the same time, the touch point coordinates of the two touch points can be accurately calculated.
[0126]
As a second modification, the optical units 102a to 102g according to the present embodiment are provided on the upper side 101b and the lower side 101d, that is, on the two opposing sides. May be arranged on two sides. FIG. 18 shows optical units 102a to 102g according to the second modification.
[0127]
As described above, even when the optical units 102a to 102g are arranged on the right side 101c and the lower side 101d of the coordinate input surface 101, the optical units are arranged on the upper side 101b and the lower side 101d described in the embodiment. As in the case, even when two touch points are input at the same time, the touch point coordinates of the two touch points can be accurately calculated.
[0128]
As a third modification, the display device with a touch panel 100 according to the present embodiment includes the first to seventh optical units 102a to 102g, but the number of optical units is not limited to this. Although three optical units are arranged on the upper side 101b, the number of optical units arranged on the upper side 101b is not limited to this. Although four optical units are arranged on the lower side 101d, the number of optical units arranged on the lower side 101d is not limited to this. Thus, the number of optical units and the ratio of the number of optical units arranged on each side are not limited to the embodiment.
[0129]
As a fourth modification, the optical units 102a to 102g of the display device with a touch panel 100 according to the present embodiment are arranged at substantially equal intervals on each side, but the position of each optical unit 102 is limited to this. It is not done. For example, it may be arbitrarily changed based on the position of the touch area where the frequency of touch is high.
[0130]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, even if the touch point coordinates cannot be accurately calculated based on the touch point direction detected by the direction detection means on one side, the other side Touch point coordinates can be calculated based on the touch point direction detected by the direction detecting means. Therefore, the coordinates of the touch point can be calculated more accurately. Further, the touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated based on both the touch point direction detected by the direction detection unit on one side and the touch point direction detected by the direction detection unit on the other side. To play.
[0131]
Further, since the direction detecting means can be arranged on both the first side and the second side, the degree of freedom of the arrangement position of each direction detecting means is increased, and each direction detecting means is arranged at a more appropriate position. It has the effect that it can be done.
[0132]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, even if the touch point coordinates cannot be accurately calculated based on the touch point direction detected by the direction detecting means on one side, the other direction detecting means detects the touch point coordinates. The touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated based on the touch point direction. Further, the touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated based on both the touch point direction detected by the direction detection unit on one side and the touch point direction detected by the direction detection unit on the other side. To play.
[0133]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, even if the touch point coordinates cannot be accurately calculated based on the touch point direction detected by the direction detecting means on one side, the other direction detecting means detects the coordinates. The touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated based on the touch point direction. Alternatively, the touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated based on both the touch point direction detected by the direction detection unit on one side and the touch point direction detected by the direction detection unit on the other side. To play.
[0134]
Further, according to the invention of claim 4, it is possible to prevent erroneous detection due to the direction detection of the other direction detecting means. Therefore, there is an effect that the touch point direction can be accurately detected.
[0135]
Further, according to the invention according to claim 5, it is possible to prevent each light receiving means from receiving the reflected light of the light emitted by the light emitting means arranged on different sides. Therefore, there is an effect that the touch point direction can be accurately detected.
[0136]
According to the invention according to claim 6, the light emitting means arranged on different sides emit light at different timings, that is, alternately, so that the light receiving means arranged on the same side in accordance with this timing. Receiving the reflected light of the emitted light, it is possible to prevent the light receiving means arranged on a side different from the light emitting means from receiving the reflected light of the light emitted by the light emitting means. . Therefore, there is an effect that the touch point direction can be accurately detected.
[0137]
Also, according to the invention according to claim 7, it is possible to prevent each direction detecting means from detecting a touch point direction for a different touch point due to a difference in timing at which each direction detecting means detects a touch point direction. As described above, since the plurality of direction detection units detect the touch point direction at the same timing, there is an effect that the touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated based on the touch point direction.
[0138]
Further, according to the invention according to claim 8, since the light receiving units arranged on the same side receive the reflected light at the same timing, the difference in the timing at which each light receiving unit detects the touch point direction is different. Accordingly, there is an effect that detection of a different touch point direction can be avoided.
[0139]
According to the ninth aspect of the present invention, all of the light emitting units arranged on the same side emit light at the same timing, so that different touch point directions are detected depending on the difference in light emission timing. This has the effect that it is possible to avoid doing so.
[0140]
According to the tenth aspect of the present invention, by arranging the optical unit in the gap between the coordinate input surface and the reflecting means, the optical unit is arranged on two sides without increasing the size of the entire coordinate input device. It has the effect that it can be done.
[0141]
According to the eleventh aspect of the present invention, since a gap corresponding to the passage area is provided between the reflecting means and the coordinate input surface, it is possible to prevent light from being blocked by the reflecting means. It works.
[0142]
According to the twelfth aspect of the present invention, since the reflecting means is provided with a width substantially equal to the width of the spread of the light, the light emitted from the optical unit on one side is converted into the optical unit on the other side. This has the effect that light reception can be avoided.
[0143]
According to the thirteenth aspect, since the touch point coordinates are calculated from each of two combinations of two different touch point directions, virtual touch point coordinates are calculated in addition to the true touch point coordinates. Even in this case, there is an effect that the true touch point coordinates can be accurately calculated from the above.
[0144]
According to the fourteenth aspect of the present invention, if the touch point coordinates of the simultaneously input touch points cannot be accurately calculated based on the touch point directions detected by the direction detecting means on one side, the other By calculating the touch point coordinates by further utilizing the touch point direction detected by the direction detecting means of the side, there is an effect that accurate touch point coordinates can be calculated.
[0145]
According to the invention according to claim 15, the calculation control means may further calculate the width of the touch point in the predetermined direction based on each of the angle ranges in the touch point direction based on the touch point direction. Therefore, the true touch point coordinates can be determined based on the value of the width. Therefore, there is an effect that accurate touch point coordinates can be calculated.
[0146]
According to the invention, when accurate touch point coordinates cannot be calculated based on the touch point direction detected by the direction detecting means, the touch is performed based on each of the angle ranges in the touch point direction. Since the width of the point can be calculated, there is an effect that the true touch point coordinates can be determined based on the width of the touch point.
