Abstract

Description
a)フィブリルによって相互に接続された結節の微細構造を有する多孔質ポリテトラフルオロエチレンのチューブを提供し、
b)前記チューブをマンドレル上にフィットさせ、
c)前記チューブを長手方向に圧縮し、
d)前記チューブの第1領域を、第2領域よりも高く加熱し、
e)チューブをマンドレルから取り出し、
f)チューブを長手方向に伸長する、
各工程を含む製造方法である。
図8のフローチャートにアウトラインを示したプロセス工程にしたがってチューブを作成した。工程1の基材チューブは、米国特許第3953566号と同4187390号の教示にしたがって作成した。得られたチューブは、2.1mmの内径と0.60mmの肉厚を有した。寸法安定性を与えるため、チューブを、PTFEの結晶融点を上回る温度に曝した。このチューブを外径2.6mmのマンドレルの上にかぶせて配置し、その元の長さの約20%まで長手方向に圧縮した(工程2)。この例で使用した全てのマンドレルは、中空のインコネル(登録商標)の管(Huntington Alloys社)から作成した。次いで、工程3により、マンドレル上のチューブを380℃に設定した空気対流式オーブンの中に42秒間入れた。
径方向の支持はされているが拡張適性であるように処理されていないもう1つの肉厚6mmのチューブを作成した。この例において、基材チューブは市販のGORE−TEXR人工血管(品目番号VT06080L)とした。このチューブは図8の工程2〜6にしたがって加工した。チューブを外径6mmのマンドレルにかぶせて配置し、その最初の長さの約27%まで長手方向に圧縮した(工程2)。マンドレル上のチューブを、工程3により、380℃に設定した空気対流式オーブンの中に42秒間入れた。
Claims (1)
- その長さの少なくとも一部にそって交互の第1と第2の領域を有し、前記第1領域が前記第2領域を上回る密度を有する多孔質ポリテトラフルオロエチレンのチューブを製造する方法であって、
a)フィブリルによって相互に接続された結節の微細構造を有する多孔質ポリテトラフルオロエチレンのチューブを提供し、
b)前記チューブをマンドレル上にフィットさせ、
c)前記チューブを長手方向に圧縮し、
d)前記チューブの第1領域を、第2領域よりも高く加熱し、
e)チューブをマンドレルから取り出し、
f)チューブを長手方向に伸長する、
各工程を含む製造方法。
