Abstract
【解決手段】イオンビームの入射、加速、出射及び減速の4つの工程からなるパターン運転を周期的に行うシンクロトロン4と、高周波印加電極7とこの高周波印加電極7に高周波電力を印加する高周波電源8との接続を開閉する開閉スイッチ9と、シンクロトロン4の出射工程中にイオンビームの出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内にシンクロトロン4から出射されるイオンビームの量がほぼ一定となるように開閉スイッチ9の開閉タイミングを制御するタイミング制御装置62とを備える。

Description
本発明の好適な一実施形態である粒子線出射装置を、図1を用いて説明する。本実施形態の粒子線出射装置は、イオンビーム発生装置1と、イオンビーム発生装置1の下流側に接続されたビーム輸送系2とを有している。
本発明の他の実施形態である実施形態2の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置を、図11を参照して以下に説明する。
本発明の他の実施形態である実施形態3の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置を、図12を用いて以下に説明する。本実施形態は、スキャニング照射方式の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置に本発明を適用した例である。
以上述べた実施形態1乃至3では加速器としてシンクロトロンを用いるようにしたが、本発明は加速器としてサイクロトロンを用いた荷電粒子ビーム出射装置にも適用することができる。このサイクロトロンを用いた荷電粒子ビーム出射装置を図13を用いて説明する。

Claims (12)
- 荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射装置において、
前記荷電粒子ビームの入射、加速及び出射工程を含むパターン運転を周期的に行う加速器と、
前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量を変更するビーム出射量調整装置と、
前記加速器の出射工程中に前記荷電粒子ビームの出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように前記ビーム出射量調整装置を制御する制御装置とを備えたことを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。 - 荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射装置において、
前記荷電粒子ビームの入射、加速及び出射工程を含むパターン運転を周期的に行う加速器と、
前記加速器の出射工程の時間を変更する出射時間調整装置と、
前記加速器の出射工程中に前記荷電粒子ビームの出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように前記出射時間調整装置を制御する制御装置とを備えたことを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。 - 荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射装置において、
前記荷電粒子ビームの入射、加速及び出射工程を含むパターン運転を周期的に行う加速器と、
前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの強度を変更するビーム強度調整装置と、
前記加速器の出射工程中に前記荷電粒子ビームの出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように前記ビーム強度調整装置を制御する制御装置とを備えたことを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。 - 治療計画情報に基づき、前記ビーム出射量調整装置、前記出射時間調整装置、又は前記ビーム強度調整装置を制御する前記制御装置を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれかに記載の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。
- 前記加速器の出射工程中における出射時間と出射停止時間との比率に基づき、前記ビーム出射量調整装置、前記出射時間調整装置、又は前記ビーム強度調整装置を制御する前記制御装置を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれかに記載の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。
- 前記加速器の出射工程中における出射時間と出射停止時間との比率に基づき、前記加速器の前記荷電粒子ビームの出射可能時間を設定する出射可能時間設定装置、前記加速器から前記荷電粒子ビームが出射された時間を積算する積算装置、及び前記積算した出射時間が前記設定した出射可能時間に到達したかどうかを判定する判定装置を有する前記制御装置を備えたことを特徴とする請求項2記載の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。
- 前記判定装置により前記積算した出射時間が前記設定した出射可能時間に到達したと判定された場合に、前記加速器からの前記荷電粒子ビームの出射を停止させる出射停止装置を備えたことを特徴とする請求項6記載の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。
- 前記加速器の出射工程中における出射時間と出射停止時間との比率に基づき、前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの強度を設定するビーム強度設定装置、及び前記設定したビーム強度となるように前記加速器中を周回する前記荷電粒子ビームに印加する高周波出力を制御する高周波出力制御装置を有する前記制御装置を備えたことを特徴とする請求項3記載の荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。
- 荷電粒子ビームの入射、加速及び出射工程を含むパターン運転を周期的に行う加速器から出射された前記荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射方法において、
前記加速器の出射工程中に出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように制御することを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射方法。 - 荷電粒子ビームの入射、加速及び出射工程を含むパターン運転を周期的に行う加速器から出射された前記荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射方法において、
前記加速器の出射工程中に出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように前記加速器の出射工程の時間を変更することを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射方法。 - 荷電粒子ビームの入射、加速及び出射工程を含むパターン運転を周期的に行う加速器から出射された前記荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射方法において、
前記加速器の出射工程中に出射停止が少なくとも1回行われる場合に、1周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの強度を変更することを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射方法。 - 荷電粒子ビームを照射装置から出射させる荷電粒子ビーム出射装置において、前記荷電粒子ビームを周期的に出射・停止させる加速器と、前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの強度を変更するビーム強度調整装置と、
前記加速器から出射される荷電粒子ビームの出射停止がある周期内*に行われる場合に、その周期内に前記加速器から出射される前記荷電粒子ビームの量がほぼ設定量となるように前記ビーム強度調整装置を制御する制御装置とを備えたことを特徴とする荷電粒子ビーム出射装置。
