Abstract
【解決手段】有機EL表示装置は、第1の色を表示するための第1の画素回路を含む。第1の画素回路は、大発光素子と、小発光素子と、前記小発光素子および前記大発光素子のそれぞれに電流を供給するか否かと、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調に応じて前記小発光素子および前記大発光素子のうち前記電流が供給されるものに供給する前記電流の量を制御する電流制御回路と、を含み、前記電流制御回路は、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調が閾値以下の場合に前記小発光素子に電流を供給し、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調が前記閾値より大きい場合には少なくとも前記大発光素子に電流を供給する。

Claims (5)
- 第1の色を表示するための第1の画素回路であって、
大発光素子と、
前記大発光素子より発光領域が狭い小発光素子と、
前記小発光素子および前記大発光素子のそれぞれに電流を供給するか否かと、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調に応じて前記小発光素子および前記大発光素子のうち前記電流が供給されるものに供給する前記電流の量を制御する電流制御回路と、
を含む第1の画素回路を含み、
前記第1の画素回路に含まれる電流制御回路は、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調が閾値以下の場合に前記小発光素子に電流を供給し、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調が前記閾値より大きい場合には少なくとも前記大発光素子に電流を供給する、
ことを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。 - 前記第1の画素回路に含まれる電流制御回路は、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調が前記閾値より大きい場合に、前記大発光素子に供給する電流の量が、前記階調の増加に応じて単純単調増加するように前記大発光素子に電流を供給する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL表示装置。 - 前記電流制御回路は、ソースおよびドレインを含む駆動トランジスタを含み、
前記駆動トランジスタは、前記第1の画素回路が表示する階調に応じて前記小発光素子および前記大発光素子のうち前記電流が供給されるものに供給する電流の量を調節する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の有機EL表示装置。 - 前記大発光素子の一端は、スイッチを介して前記駆動トランジスタのソースおよびドレインのうち一方に接続される、
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機EL表示装置。 - 前記第1の色と異なる第2の色を表示するための第2の画素回路であって、
1つの発光素子と、
前記1つの発光素子に供給する電流の量を調整する電流調整回路と、
を含む第2の画素回路をさらに含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の有機EL表示装置。
