Abstract
【解決手段】第1面と、第1面の反対側の第2面とを備える基板と、基板の表示領域に設けられ、基板の第1面側に接触又は近接する物体の位置又は接触する物体の圧力を検出するための第1電極と、表示領域の外周の少なくとも1辺に沿って複数設けられた第2電極と、基板と離隔して基板の第2面側に設けられ、第2電極との間に静電容量を形成する導電体とを有する。

Description
図1は、第1の実施形態に係るタッチ検出機能付き表示装置の一構成例を示すブロック図である。図1に示すように、タッチ検出機能付き表示装置1は、タッチ検出機能付き表示部10と、制御部11と、ゲートドライバ12と、ソースドライバ13と、駆動電極ドライバ14と、検出部40とを備えている。タッチ検出機能付き表示装置1は、タッチ検出機能付き表示部10がタッチ検出機能を内蔵した表示装置である。タッチ検出機能付き表示部10は、表示素子として液晶表示素子を用いている表示パネル20と、タッチ入力を検出する検出装置であるタッチパネル30とを一体化した装置である。なお、タッチ検出機能付き表示部10は、表示パネル20の上にタッチパネル30を装着した、いわゆるオンセルタイプの装置であってもよい。表示パネル20は、例えば、有機EL表示パネルであってもよい。
図23は、第2の実施形態に係るタッチ検出機能付き表示装置の断面構造を模式的に示す模式断面図である。本実施形態において、第2検出電極23は、絶縁層58aを介して第2基板21の第1面21a側に設けられている。第2検出電極23は、画素電極22、駆動電極COML、画素信号線SGL及び走査信号線GCLと異なる層に配置されており、走査信号線GCLよりも第1基板21に近い層に配置される。接続配線38は走査信号線GCLと同じ層に設けられ、コンタクトホールH2を介して第2検出電極23と接続される。なお、平面視での各第2検出電極23、接続配線38等の配置は、図20と同様である。
図24は、第3の実施形態に係る駆動電極及び第2検出電極を拡大して示す模式平面図である。図25は、図24のXXV−XXV’線で切断したときの断面図である。
図28は、第4の実施形態に係るタッチ検出機能付き表示装置の第1基板を模式的に示す平面図である。図29は、第4の実施形態に係るタッチ検出機能付き表示装置の第2基板を模式的に示す平面図である。図30は、第4の実施形態に係る駆動電極及び第2検出電極を拡大して示す模式平面図である。

Claims (20)
- 第1面と、前記第1面の反対側の第2面とを備える基板と、
前記基板の表示領域に設けられ、前記基板の前記第1面側に接触又は近接する物体の位置又は接触する物体の圧力を検出するための第1電極と、
前記表示領域の外周の少なくとも1辺に沿って複数設けられた第2電極と、
前記基板と離隔して前記基板の前記第2面側に設けられ、前記第2電極との間に静電容量を形成する導電体とを有する検出装置。 - 前記第1電極は第1の方向に延在しており、
前記第2電極は、前記第1の方向に沿った方向に複数配列される請求項1に記載の検出装置。 - 前記第2電極は、第1の方向に沿った方向に複数配列されるとともに、前記第1の方向と交差する第2の方向に複数配列され、前記表示領域の少なくとも2辺に沿って設けられる請求項1に記載の検出装置。
- 前記第2電極は、前記基板の前記第1面側に物体が接触した際の圧力の強さ又は圧力の一次元座標を検出する請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置。
- 前記第1電極は、第1の方向に延在するとともに第2の方向に配列し、
複数の前記第1電極と、前記第2電極との検出結果により、前記基板の前記第1面側に物体が接触した際の圧力の二次元座標を算出する、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置。 - 前記第1電極と対向する第3電極が設けられており、前記第1電極と前記第3電極との間の静電容量に基づいて、接触又は近接する物体の位置が検出される請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置。
- 前記表示領域の外側の額縁領域に、前記第3電極に接続された額縁配線が設けられており、
前記第3電極は、前記表示領域の中央部に設けられた第1部分と、前記表示領域の外周に沿って前記第1部分と前記額縁配線との間に設けられた第2部分とを含み、
前記第2電極は、前記第2部分と重畳して、前記第2部分よりも前記導電体側に配置される請求項6に記載の検出装置。 - 前記第3電極は、前記第2電極に供給される駆動信号と同期する波形を有する信号が供給される請求項6又は請求項7に記載の検出装置。
- 前記第2電極と対向し、前記第2電極に対して前記導電体の反対側に設けられたシールド層を含む請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置。
- 前記シールド層は、前記第2電極に供給される駆動信号と同期する波形を有する信号が供給される請求項9に記載の検出装置。
- 前記シールド層は、前記第3電極の前記第2部分である請求項9又は請求項10に記載の検出装置。
- 前記第2部分は、前記第1部分と電気的に分離され、接触又は近接する物体を感知しない領域を含む、請求項7から請求項11のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置。
- 請求項1から請求項12のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置と、
前記第1電極と対向して行列配置された複数の画素電極と、
前記表示領域内において画像表示機能を発揮する表示機能層と、を有する表示装置。 - 前記第2電極は、前記画素電極と同層に設けられている請求項13に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2電極は、前記画素電極よりも前記第2面側の層に設けられている請求項13に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2電極は、前記第1電極と重畳する位置に設けられ、前記画素電極に画素信号を供給するための画素信号線と接続される請求項13から請求項15のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記画素電極に画素信号を供給して前記表示機能層の画像表示機能を実行させる表示動作と、前記第1面側に接触又は近接する物体を検出するタッチ検出動作と、前記第2電極と前記導電体との間の静電容量変化に基づいて前記基板に加えられた圧力を検出する圧力検出動作とが時分割で行われる請求項13から請求項16のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1電極は共通電極である請求項13から請求項17のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 請求項1から請求項12のいずれか1項に記載の検出装置と、
前記検出装置が組み込まれる筐体とを含み、
前記筐体は前記導電体を含む電子機器。 - 請求項13から請求項18のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置と、
前記表示装置が組み込まれる筐体とを含み、
前記筐体は前記導電体を含む電子機器。
