Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 発明の技術分野 本発明は、清涼飲料のような消耗品の消耗的な包装の
ために、飲食産業で広く用いられているブロー成形され
たプラスチック瓶の如き容器用の改変明示の漏洩防止閉
鎖体に関する。本発明は、さらに、容器から閉鎖体を解
放し取り外すための壊れやすいプルタブを有する装置に
関する。
発明の背景 この一般的な形式の先に関連する閉鎖体は、例えば、
米国特許第3,893,583号、第4,037,746号、第4,066,182
号、第4,202,455号および第4,589,561号に見られる。し
かしながら、これらの先行技術の閉鎖体には幾つかの問
題がある。
ブロー成形されたプラスチック容器の最大寸法の制御
は、型に接触して形成される容器の外表面にて達成され
る。ブロー成形された容器の口の内縁はトリムされ、そ
して、トリム作業が精確でない故に、その縁部は必ずし
も平坦で突起がない、すなわち、寸法に影響する他の成
型物がないとはいえない。結果的に、プラグシールのよ
うな、これらの内縁で容器をシールしようとする全ての
シールは、トリム作業によって引き起こされた寸法上の
不均一さに曝される。もっと信頼できるシールは、例え
ば、成形された寸法がより均一な容器の口の外縁で達成
されるかもしれない。
幾つかの先行技術の装置は、成形された外表面よりも
むしろ、トリムされた縁部に沿って容器をシールするこ
とを試みている。これは装置を漏れやすくする。容器の
外表面でシールしようとする試みはシールが不適切で、
容器の輸送および保管中に漏れるということが知られて
いる。これは消費者に不快感を与え、製品を望ましくな
いものとし、時には販売不能とする。あるものは、美
感、費用および使用の容易性の考察を犠牲にして適切な
シール性を達成している。さらに他のものはその製造時
に型から取り出すのが困難な形状とされている。
それ故に、消費者にとって美感が良く、使用し易く、
かつ、生産が廉価でありながら、輸送、保管および取扱
中の漏洩を排除し改良されたシール性を含む改変明示の
容器用閉鎖体を有することが望まれている。また、容器
から容易に閉鎖体を解放し取り除くための壊れやすいプ
ルタブを含み、かつ、製造時に型から取り出すのが比較
的容易な容器を提供することが要望されている。
発明の要約 容器用の閉鎖体が開示され、該容器は、首領域、頂部
開口、周囲部と頂部開口を画成する内縁とを有する環状
頂部表面、環状頂部表面の周囲部から延びる頂部外縁で
あって第１の面を画成する頂部外縁、頂部外縁の下方縁
に形成されたリップ、および、首領域から延びる底部外
縁を有する形式である。閉鎖体は、開口を覆う頂部部材
であって内表面と外表面とを有する頂部部材を有する。
閉鎖体はまた、頂部部材から延びる第１の環状部分であ
って第２の面を画成する第１の環状部分を有し、第１の
面は第２の面にほぼ平行である。第１の環状部分はさら
に、リップにシール接触するリップシールを備えてい
る。第１の環状部分はまた、頂部外縁に接触するワイパ
ーシールを備えてもよい。閉鎖体はまた、第１の環状部
分から延びる第２の環状部分を有している。第２の環状
部分は、圧縮力が第２の環状部分に与えられ、かつ、リ
ップシールがリップにシール可能に当接されるように、
底部外縁に圧接する底足部を有している。
閉鎖体は、第２の環状部においてリップシールと足部
との間に位置に形成された少なくとも一つの弱化線と、
第１端部および第２端部を有するプルタブとを有しても
よい。プルタブは第１の端部で第２の環状部分に取り付
けられており、これにより、閉鎖体の容器からの取り外
しを促進するために、弱化線を壊し第２の環状部分の殆
どの部分を閉鎖体から取り除くべく外方に引かれ得る。
プルタブは第２の端部で第２の環状部分に壊れやすく接
続されてもよい。
底足部から延びる下方部分であってもよく、該下方部
分は閉鎖体の製造時に製作型からの閉鎖体の取り出しの
容易性を改善する。頂部部材の内表面から延び、かつ、
環状頂部表面の内縁にほぼ接触するプラグシールが含ま
れてもよい。また、頂部部材の一部はプラグシールに凹
まされてもよい。
図面の簡単な説明 本明細書は本発明を詳しく指摘し明確に請求している
請求の範囲に帰結するが、添付の図面との関連でなされ
る以下の説明からより良く理解されるであろうと信じら

発明の詳細な説明 さて、全図に亘り同一番号が同一要素を示している図
面を詳細に参照するに、図１ないし図５には、本発明の
閉鎖体10の一実施例が容器の頂部に適用されて示されて
いる。特に、図２および図３を参照すると、容器は典型
的に首領域および開口を有している。開口は環状の頂部
表面12により取り囲まれ、頂部表面12は順に内縁14およ
び周囲部16を有している。頂部外縁18は環状の頂部表面
12の周囲部16から下向きで外向きに角度付けられてい
る。頂部外縁18の外表面は閉鎖体のシールの中の一つの
ための「シート」として役立っている。頂部外縁18の下
方縁は首領域の垂直部分から張り出し、リップ20を形成
している。リップ20は閉鎖体のシールの中の他の一つの
ための「シート」として役立っている。底部外縁22は首
領域の垂直部分の下端部から下向きで外向きに延び、閉
鎖体の一部のための「シート」として役立っている。こ
の「シート」は、シールの有効性を最大とし漏洩防止容
器をもたらすように閉鎖体に圧縮力を及ぼし、これが以
下により詳細に説明される。
閉鎖体10は、容器の頂部の開口の覆いとして作用する
頂部部材24を有している。頂部部材24は、プラグシール
25が内縁14に沿って開口内に押し込まれ、閉鎖体10の二
重のシール作用と安定性とをもたらすように、その内表
面から下方に延びるプラグシール25を有してもよく、ま
たは、有さなくてもよい。頂部部材24からある角度で延
びているのは、第１の環状部分26である。第１の環状部
分26の内表面には頂部外縁18の外表面にシール接触する
ワイパーシール28があってもよい。ワイパーシール28は
適切なシールを維持する限り第１の環状部分26の内表面
にそって何処に位置されてもよいが、しかし、ワイパー
シール28の最も望ましい位置はリップ20に近い環状部分
26の下端部であることが判明している。リップシール30
もまた、リップ20にはまり係合するように環状部分26の
内表面に位置されている。ワイパーシール28、リップシ
ール30、および両者に及ぼされる圧縮力の関係が以下に
より詳細に説明される。
第２の環状部分32が第１の環状部分26から下方に延び
ている。第２の環状部分32の下端部には底部外縁22に係
合するよう形状付けられた底足部34がある。閉鎖体10の
リップシール30と底足部34との間の領域は、容器のリッ
プ20と底部外縁22との間の領域に関して、閉鎖体10が容
器に固定されたとき、圧縮力が足部34とリップシール30
との間で閉鎖体10に及ぼされるように寸法付けられてい
る。これにより、リップ20とリップシール30との間の最
大に有効なシールをもたらす。
第１の環状部分26にワイパーシール28が含まれている
ときは、閉鎖体10の防漏洩シール性の増加が劇的とな
る。リップシール30の有効性に加えて、リップ20とリッ
プシール30との接触点において引き起こされ、同点回り
の曲げモーメントの故に、ワイパーシール28は特に効果
的である、このモーメントは第２の環状部分32内で上方
に及ぼされている圧縮力によって発生されている。この
圧縮力は、第１の環状部分26のリップ20回りの内方への
回転を生じさせ、そして、ワイパーシール28を頂部外縁
18と確実にシール接触するよう押す。図３に示されてい
る図では、モーメントはリップ20とリップシール30との
接触点の回りで反時計方向である。
図７は、閉鎖体10の特定の実施例について、第２の環
状部分32内の圧縮力（Ｘ軸）とリップシール30およびワ
イパーシール28の両者の圧力（Ｙ軸）との一般的関係を
描いた曲線を示す。これらの曲線は例であり、本発明の
全ての可能な実施例についてこの正確な関係を予言して
はいない。下側の曲線35は、第２の環状部分32の圧縮力
が増大するにつれてのリップシール30のシール圧の増大
を示している。リップシール30の圧力は圧縮力と共にほ
ぼ一様に増大する。しかしながら、特に第２の環状部分
32が以下に説明する弱化線36を含むときには、圧縮力は
ある点で過剰となり、そして、第２の環状部分32内で座
屈が生ずる。図７の上側の曲線37は、ワイパーシール28
が第２の環状部分32の圧縮の増大に伴い特に効果的とな
り、第２の環状部分32の所与の圧縮量に対してのリップ
シール30の単位面積当たりのシール力の約２倍のシール
力をもたらすことを示している。これは、リップ20とリ
ップシール30との接触点回りに回転し、ワイパーシール
28を頂部外縁18に押し付ける、前述のモーメントの故で
ある。
図２および図３を参照するに、下方部分38が底足部34
から下向きで外向きに延びてもよい。下方部分38は閉鎖
体10の適切な機能に対しては必ずしも必要ではなく、よ
り美感上の目的に役立つ。しかしながら、製造時に型か
ら閉鎖体を取り出す容易性を増大する点において有用で
ある。
第２の環状部分32内には、少なくとも一つの弱化線36
が位置されてもよく、閉鎖体10の容器からの取り外しが
望まれるとき、第２の環状部分32の圧縮力を解放し閉鎖
体10の容器からの取り外しを促進すべく、弱化線36は目
的的に壊れやすくされている。図４に示されるプルタブ
40が、タブ40が引かれたとき弱化線36が壊れ、第２の環
状部分32の大半または全て、および、下方部分38の全て
が、容器の開口を与えるべく完全に取り除かれるよう
に、下方部分38または第２の環状部分32のいずれか、ま
たは、両方に取付られてもよい。プルタブ40の外端部
は、輸送、取扱時等にタブ40が動かされ、弱化線36の不
測の破損を防止するために、小さな壊れやすい材料片42
によって下方部分38に連結されてもよい。この形式の閉
鎖体取り外しシステムは、当該技術分野においてよく知
られている。
図６に示すように、頂部部材24の一部44は閉鎖体10の
頂表面にくぼみをもたらすべく、プラグシール25に凹ま
されてもよい。しかしながら、これは通常望ましくな
い。何故なら、かかるくぼみは消費者を不快にする塵埃
や他の望ましくない物を収集する傾向にあるからであ
る。
ここに本発明の特別の実施例が図示され説明されたけ
れども、本発明の趣旨および範囲から逸脱することなく
種々の変形および修正がなされ得ること、および、この
発明の範囲内にあるかかる修正の全てを含むことが添付
の請求の範囲で意図されていることは、当業者には自明
であろう。

Claims (7)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】容器用の閉鎖体であって、該容器は、首領
    域、頂部開口、周囲部と頂部開口を画成する内縁とを有
    する環状頂部表面、環状頂部表面の周囲部から延びる頂
    部外縁、頂部外縁の下方縁に形成されたリップ、およ
    び、首領域から延びる底部外縁を有する形式であり、 該閉鎖体は、開口を覆う頂部部材であって内表面と外表
    面とを有する頂部部材を備え、該閉鎖体はさらに、頂部
    部材から延びる第１の環状部分を備え、該第１の環状部
    分はさらに、リップにシール接触するリップシールを備
    え、閉鎖体はさらに、第１の環状部分から延びる第２の
    環状部分を備え、該第２の環状部分は、圧縮力が第２の
    環状部分に与えられ、かつ、リップシールがリップにシ
    ール可能に当接されリップとリップシールとの接触点に
    おいて曲げモーメントを生じさせるように、底部外縁に
    圧接する底足部を有することを特徴とする容器用の閉鎖
    体。
  2. 【請求項２】頂部外縁は第１の面を画成し、かつ、第１
    の環状部分は第２の面を画成し、該第１の面は該第２の
    面にほぼ平行であり、閉鎖体はさらに、頂部外縁にシー
    ル接触する第１の環状部分のワイパーシールを備えるこ
    とを特徴とする請求項１に記載の閉鎖体。
  3. 【請求項３】さらに、頂部部材の内表面から延び、か
    つ、環状頂部表面の内縁にほぼ接触するプラグシールを
    備えることを特徴とする請求項１または２に記載の閉鎖
    体。
  4. 【請求項４】頂部部材の少なくとも一部はプラグシール
    に凹まされていることを特徴とする請求項３に記載の閉
    鎖体。
  5. 【請求項５】さらに、第２の環状部分でリップシールと
    足部との間の位置に形成された少なくとも１つの弱化線
    と、第１端部および第２端部を有するプルタブとを備
    え、該プルタブは第１の端部で第２の環状部分に少なく
    とも部分的に取り付けられており、これにより、該プル
    タブは閉鎖体の容器からの取り外しを促進するために、
    弱化線を壊し第２の環状部分の殆どの部分を閉鎖体から
    取り除くべく外方に引かれ得ることを特徴とする請求項
    １ないし４のいずれかに記載の閉鎖体。
  6. 【請求項６】さらに、底足部から延びる下方部分を備
    え、該下方部分は閉鎖体の製造時に製作型からの閉鎖体
    の取り出しの改良された容易性を許容することを特徴と
    する請求項１ないし５のいずれかに記載の閉鎖体。
  7. 【請求項７】プルタブは第２の端部において下方部分に
    壊れやすく連結されていることを特徴とする請求項５ま
    たは６に記載の閉鎖体。
