Description
Claims (21)
- 周期的に動作できるポリマー処理システムにおいて、
バレル内に配設されたスクリューであって、該スクリューと該バレルとの間にポリマー処理空間が画成されており、該スクリューは、以下の式
L/D≦24
で規定される関係を有し、Lは長さでありDは直径である、スクリューと、
発泡剤注入ポートに接続された発泡剤供給源であって、当該発泡剤供給源から前記ポリマー処理システム内のポリマー材料へ発泡剤を流入させ得る、発泡剤供給源とを備える、ポリマー処理システム。 - 該ポリマー処理システムは、周期的にポリマー材料を成形型の中へ射出注入する動作、または、周期的にポリマー材料をダイから押し出す動作を実行できる、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 少なくとも2つの発泡剤注入ポートを備える、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記発泡剤注入ポートが、前記バレルに設けられる、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記スクリューが前記バレル内で往復動する、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記スクリューは、払拭セクションおよび混練セクションを含み、前記払拭セクションは、0.5:1〜3:1にあるL:Dの比を有し、前記混練セクションは、2:1〜6:1にあるL:Dの比を有する、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記スクリューが、前記発泡剤注入ポートの上流側に位置する規制要素を備えており、当該規制要素は、射出注入サイクルまたは射出サイクルの少なくとも一部の実行中に、ポリマー材料ないし発泡剤が該規制要素を通過して上流側へ流れることを規制するように構成される、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記スクリューは、当該スクリューの下流側の端部に先端弁を備えており、当該先端弁は、弁が開いた状態でポリマー材料が該先端弁を通過して下流側への流れを許容し、弁が閉じた状態でポリマー材料が該先端弁を通過して上流側への流れを規制する、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記スクリューは、20:1〜24:1の範囲内にあるL:Dの比を備える、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記発泡剤注入ポートの中に装着される発泡剤注入部材を備えており、当該発泡剤注入部材には、前記発泡剤供給源から前記ポリマー処理空間へ流入する発泡剤が通過する少なくとも1つのオリフィスが形成されている、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記発泡剤注入部材は、当該発泡剤注入部材の中に複数のオリフィスを備える、請求項10記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記発泡剤供給源と前記ポリマー処理空間とを接続している通路中に、注入弁が配設されており、当該注入弁は、発泡剤が該注入弁を通過して流れることを許容する開弁状態と、発泡剤ないしポリマー材料が該発泡剤注入弁を通過して流れることを阻止する閉弁状態とを備える、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記注入弁が、前記発泡剤注入ポートの中に装着される注入アセンブリの一部を構成している、請求項12記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記発泡剤が、二酸化炭素または窒素である、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記システムの構成要素に接続された制御システムを備えており、当該制御システムは、少なくとも1つの構成要素から入力を受け取り、少なくとも1つの構成要素へ出力を送出するように構成される、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 射出成形型を備えており、当該射出成形型が前記ポリマー処理空間に接続されるキャビティを画成する、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- 前記ポリマー処理システムが、微細気孔材料を製造するように構成される、請求項1記載のポリマー処理システム。
- ポリマー処理システムにおけるポリマー材料の処理方法において、
スクリューとバレルとの間に画成されたポリマー処理空間内においてポリマー材料を搬送する工程であって、該スクリューは、以下の式
L/D≦24
で規定される関係を有し、Lは長さでありDは直径である、搬送する工程と、
前記ポリマー処理システム内のポリマー材料へ発泡剤を注入する工程であって、ポリマー材料と発泡剤とから成る混合物を調製する、注入する工程と、
ポリマー材料と発泡剤とから成る前記混合物を成形型の中へ射出注入するか、または、該混合物をダイから押し出す、工程とを備える、処理方法。 - 前記ポリマー処理空間内において、発泡剤とポリマー材料とから成る単一相の溶融物を形成する工程を備える、請求項18記載の処理方法。
- 発泡体製品を形成する工程を備える、請求項18記載の処理方法。
- 微細気孔製品を形成する工程を備える、請求項20記載の処理方法。
