Description

本発明は、以下の実施例において実証されるものであるが、この実施例は例示を目的とし、本発明の範囲を限定することを意図するものではない。
MC3T3−E1骨細胞(5×105細胞/cm2)を、特別改良したCooperディッシュ上で平板培養した。前記細胞を培地で7日間増殖させ、この培地を実験条件を開始する直前に交換した。これらの研究全般における実験用細胞培養は、60kHz、静電結合型の正弦波、44.81ピーク−ピークの出力振幅を伴う電場の条件下に置いた。前記条件により、前記ディッシュの培地に、電流密度が300μA/cm2で20mV/cmの算出電場強度を発生させた。対照細胞培養ディッシュは、電極が関数発生器に接続されていない点を除いては、刺激を受けた細胞培養ディッシュと同一であった。
Claims (6)
- 骨折、骨折の危険性のある骨、遷延治癒骨折、骨折の癒着不能、骨欠損症、脊椎固定、骨壊死、および骨粗鬆症のうちの少なくとも1つを治療する装置であって、
周波数60kHzの特定且つ選択的な信号を少なくとも1つ生成する信号源と、
前記信号源に接続され、前記少なくとも1つの特定且つ選択的な信号を受信するものであり、且つ標的組織に対して作用可能に配置された電場生成手段と
を有し、
前記電場生成手段は、前記少なくとも1つの特定且つ選択的な信号を受信して20mV/cmの振幅の電場を前記標的組織に発生させ、当該振幅は、骨形成タンパク質の遺伝子発現を前記標的組織において上方制御させる特定且つ選択的な振幅であり、
前記信号源は、前記少なくとも1つの特定且つ選択的な信号を1分間オンおよび1分間オフの間隔の50%のデューティサイクルで24時間毎に24時間の間印加して、骨形成タンパク質の遺伝子発現を前記標的組織において選択的に上方制御させるものである
装置。 - 請求項1記載の装置において、さらに、
前記信号源を駆動する携帯用電源装置を有するものである装置。 - 請求項1記載の装置において、さらに、
前記電場生成手段を患者の身体の骨組織の近傍に取着する手段を有するものである装置。 - 請求項1記載の装置において、さらに、
前記信号源を前記患者の身体に取着する手段を有するものである装置。 - 請求項1記載の装置において、前記少なくとも1つの特定且つ選択的な信号を前記電場生成手段に印加することによって生成される前記電場は、静電結合および誘導結合のうちの1つを介して前記標的組織に印加されるものである装置。
- 請求項1記載の装置において、前記特定且つ選択的な信号は正弦波形を有するものである装置。
