Description
レーザ照射時の頭蓋骨への熱影響を可及的に小さくしながらも、スムーズかつ迅速に切断できるようにするには、パルスレーザが望ましい。
図1は、本実施形態に係る脳外科手術で用いられる開頭システム100を模式的に示している。この図において、符号はレーザ発振器200、符号はレーザ発振器200から出力されるレーザRを伝達する光ファイバ300、符号はそのレーザRを利用して頭蓋骨Pを切断する頭蓋骨切断装置400である。
次に本発明の第2実施形態について、図8を参照して説明する。なおこの実施形態で、前記実施形態に対応する部材には原則的に同一の符号を付すこととする。

Claims (9)
- レーザによって頭蓋骨を切断するための頭蓋骨切断装置であって、
レーザ発振器から光ファイバを介して導入されたレーザを、先端部に設けた射出口から射出するボディと、
前記ボディの前記射出口の周辺に突出して配設され、頭蓋骨表面に接触する接触部と、
前記ボディからレーザの射出方向に向かって、当該レーザの光路を避けながら延出する支持バーと、
前記支持バーの先端部に支持されたものであって、前記接触部を頭蓋骨表面に接触させた状態において、当該頭蓋骨の裏面に接触しないように当該頭蓋骨の裏面と脳表面との間に挿入され、レーザ光路に干渉してレーザのそれ以上の進行を止める光遮断板と、を備えている頭蓋骨切断装置。 - 前記接触部が頭蓋骨表面に接触又は近接しているか否かを検知する検知手段をさらに備えている請求項1記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- 前記検知手段が、レーザの光軸がそのレーザの照射領域となる頭蓋骨の表面とほぼ垂直となっているか否かをも検知するものである請求項2記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- 前記支持バーが可変長のものである請求項1記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- 前記ボディ内に配置した光学系を更に備え、その光学系が、少なくとも光ファイバから射出されたレーザを円偏光させる円偏光子と、レーザを収斂させる凸レンズ素子とを備えたものである請求項1記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- 前記ボディの射出口近傍に、光拡散作用を有する半透明な素材で形成した透光領域を設けている請求項1記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- 前記ボディが、ボディ本体と、そのボディ本体の先端に着脱可能に設けられた先頭部と、レーザの光軸に対して直交配置され、前記先頭部の内部空間を仕切る等厚透明な飛散防止板と、を備えたものである請求項1記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- 前記接触部が、前記射出口の周囲に設けられて頭蓋骨の表面に接触させるための3以上の転動部材を備えたものであり、それら各転動部材の先端が、前記光軸と垂直な仮想平面上に配置されている請求項3記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
- レーザがパルスレーザである請求項1記載の頭蓋骨切断装置。
