キュリウム−242(242Cm)やキュリウム−244(244Cm)等の超ウラン元素(Trans−Uranium:以下TRU元素という。)が含まれており、このTRU元素からプルトニウム(Pu)を除いたマイナーアクチノイド元素(以下、MA元素という。)の中には、237Npや241Am、243Amのように半減期が各々214万年、432年、
7380年と極めて長く、短期間にて消滅処理させることができない核種(マイナーアクチノイド核種)が存在する。
さらに、請求項3に係る発明は、請求項1乃至2に付加して、前記超ウラン元素は、ネプツニウム、アメリシウム、キュリウムの少なくともいずれか一つを含むものであることを特徴とする合金燃料製造装置である。
従来の技術のように装置全体に汚染が拡大することがない。

Claims (3)
- 超ウラン元素を含む合金原料を溶融する溶融部と、
前記溶融部を収容する内筒部材と、
前記内筒部材の鉛直上方を略閉塞するように配される天板部材と、
前記天板部材及び前記内筒部材を収容する外筒部材とを有する合金燃料製造装置において、
前記超ウラン元素を含む合金原料を溶融したのち、前記溶融した合金原料を、前記溶融部からモールド中に押出し、スラグ化する射出鋳造処理を行うことを特徴とする合金燃料製造装置。 - 前記射出鋳造処理は、前記溶融部の直上から溶融部へモールドの一端を挿入し、前記合金燃料製造装置内のガスを排気、真空引き、さらに不活性ガスの導入と加圧によってモールド中へ前記溶融した合金原料を押出し、固化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の合金燃料製造装置。
- 前記超ウラン元素は、ネプツニウム、アメリシウム、キュリウムの少なくともいずれか一つを含むものであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至2に記載の合金燃料製造装置。
