Description
本願は、米国特許法第119条(e)項に基づき、“Galley Refrigerator Connected to Aircraft Supplemental Cooling System”と題し、2008年9月25日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/100,170号の優先権を主張し、同仮出願の内容全体を参照により本願に援用する。本願は同様に、米国特許法第119条(e)項に基づき、“A Cascade Thermoelectric Device Cooling System Design for a Vehicle Three-Mode Refrigerator”と題し、2009年8月26日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/236,963号の優先権を主張し、同仮出願の内容全体を引用によって本願に援用する。
発明の分野
本発明は、一般に食料品および飲料品を冷却するために輸送手段(航空機等)のギャレーで使用する冷却装置に関する。より詳しくは、本発明は、冷却システムと、これを輸送手段の液冷システムに接続する方法に関する。
当業界で周知のように、たとえば航空機のギャレーで使用される従来の輸送手段用冷却装置と飲料品保冷器は、冷却装置内の内容物からの熱を庫外環境に伝達するために蒸気圧縮式冷却工程(すなわち、蒸気サイクルシステム)を利用する機械的冷却装置を備える。従来の蒸気サイクル式航空機ギャレー用冷却装置は、その所期の目的には適しているが、いくつかの欠点もある。その1つは、従来の冷却装置の蒸気サイクルシステムが大量の電気エネルギーを消費することである。さらに、蒸気サイクルシステムを用いることで、従来の冷却装置に多数の機械的および電気的部品が付加されるため、故障しやすい冷却装置となる。さらに、蒸気サイクルシステムによって重量が増し、同様に、従来の冷却装置が大きなスペースを占める原因にもなっている。
食料品や飲料品等の出し入れ可能な物体を冷却するための冷却システムの一例は、輸送手段の液冷システムを利用してもよい。この冷却システムは、物体を出し入れできる隔室と、輸送手段の液冷システムから受け取る冷却液が通過する連結部を有する低温冷却液システムと、低温冷却液システムおよび隔室に動作的に連結され、隔室からの熱を冷却液に伝達する熱交換器と、を備えていてもよい。
航空機等の輸送手段は近年、液冷システム(以下、LCSという)を搭載するようになってきた。LCSは一般に中央集中冷却システムとして機能し、これによって、低温冷却剤が中心部分から航空機全体に分散されて、フードワゴン/カートが組み込まれるギャレーの中のプレナムの冷却のほか、機内エンターテインメント用電子機器の冷却に使用される。LCSは一般に、中央冷却ユニットと、ポンプと、低温冷却液(PGW、60容量%のプロピレングリコール水溶液またはガルデン冷却剤等)を循環させるための冷却液ループ状配管(tubing loop)とを備える。低温冷却液はLCSによって、たとえば−8℃等の低温に保持されてもよい。低温冷却液は一般に、中央冷却ユニットによって冷却された後に、航空機全体を通じてすべてのギャレーとそれぞれの給食ワゴンにポンプで送出される。
Claims (10)
- 輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムを用いて、出し入れ可能な物体を冷却、冷凍する冷却システムであって、
物体を出し入れできる隔室と、
輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムから冷媒路を通じて受け取る冷却液が通過する連結部を有する低温冷却液システムと、
前記隔室に近接し、かつ前記冷媒路に沿った前記低温冷却液システムに動作的に連結され、前記隔室からの熱を前記冷却液に伝達する熱交換器と、
熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクと、熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器とに連結された熱電装置であって、前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器は、熱的に前記隔室に連結され、前記熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクは、前記冷媒路に沿った前記低温冷却液システムに連結されており、前記隔室からの前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器を介した熱を前記冷却液に伝達する、熱電装置と、を備える冷却システム。 - 前記熱交換器は、前記隔室の空気の熱を、前記冷媒路を流れる前記冷却液に伝達するように構成される液体−気体熱交換器を備える、請求項1に記載の冷却システム。
- 前記隔室と前記液体−気体熱交換器及び前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器を通じて空気を循環させるファンを有する、請求項2に記載の冷却システム。
- 前記隔室内で測定された温度に応じて前記ファンの回転速度を変えるコントローラを有する、請求項3に記載の冷却システム。
- センサデータ出力を有するセンサであって、前記隔室からの空気の温度を測定し、それを表すセンサデータを出力するように位置づけられたセンサと、
前記センサデータ出力、前記低温冷却液システム及び前記熱電装置に連結され、前記低温冷却液システムと前記熱電装置に制御信号を送信することにより、前記センサデータに従って前記隔室の温度を制御するように構成されているコントローラと、をさらに備える、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の冷却システム。 - センサデータ出力を有するセンサであって、前記隔室からの空気の温度を測定し、それを表すセンサデータを出力するように位置づけられたセンサと、
制御入力を有する冷媒調節弁であって、前記低温冷却液システムに連結され、前記制御入力に従って、前記熱交換器への冷却液の流れを制御する冷却液調節弁と、
前記センサデータ出力、前記冷媒調節弁の前記制御入力及び前記熱電装置に連結され、前記冷媒調節弁の前記制御入力及び前記熱電装置に制御信号を送信することにより、前記センサデータに従って前記隔室の温度を制御するように構成されているコントローラと、をさらに備える、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の冷却システム。 - 輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムとして請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の冷却システムを使って冷却隔室を冷却する方法であって、
輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムに連結され、前記冷却隔室に近接された低温液冷システムを、前記中央集中液冷システムに連結された熱電装置と共に用いて、冷却隔室の温度を所望の温度に低下させるステップと、
前記輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムに連結された低温冷却液システムを用いて、前記冷却隔室の温度をおよそ前記所望の温度に保持するステップと、を含む方法。 - 輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムを用いて、出し入れ可能な物体を冷却、冷凍する冷却システムであって、
物体を出し入れできる隔室と、
輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムから冷媒路を通じて受け取る冷却液が通過する連結部を有する低温冷却液システムと、
熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクと、熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器とに連結された熱電装置であって、前記熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクと前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器は、共に前記低温冷却液システムに並列的に連結され、前記輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムから冷却液を受け取り、前記熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクからの冷却液が前記前記輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムに戻される前に、熱電装置を介した前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器を通じて流れる冷却液の熱を、前記熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクを通じて流れる冷却液に伝達するように構成されている、熱電装置と、
前記隔室に隣接している隔室熱交換器であって、前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器から受け取った冷却液を流す接続を有し、前記隔室の熱を前記冷却液に伝達するように前記隔室と熱的な接続を有しており、前記隔室熱交換器は、前記隔室の空気の熱を、前記冷媒路を流れる前記冷却液に伝達するように構成される液体−気体熱交換器を備える、隔室熱交換器と、を備える冷却システム。 - センサデータ出力を有するセンサであって、前記隔室からの空気の温度を測定し、それを表すセンサデータを出力するように位置づけられたセンサと、
前記センサデータ出力、前記低温冷却液システム及び前記熱電装置に連結され、前記低温冷却液システムと前記熱電装置に制御信号を送信することにより、前記センサデータに従って前記隔室の温度を制御するように構成されているコントローラと、をさらに備える、請求項8に記載の冷却システム。 - 第1の制御入力を有する第1の冷媒調節弁であって、輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムと前記熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクとの間の冷媒路に沿った前記低温冷却液システムに連結され、前記第1の制御入力に従って、輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムから前記熱電装置液冷放熱面側ヒートシンクへの冷却液の流れを制御する第1の冷却液調節弁と、
第2の制御入力を有する第2の冷媒調節弁であって、輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムと前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器との間の冷媒路に沿った前記低温冷却液システムに連結され、前記第2の制御入力に従って、輸送手段の中央集中液冷システムから前記熱電装置冷却面側熱交換器への冷却液の流れを制御する第2の冷却液調節弁と、
センサデータ出力を有するセンサであって、前記隔室からの空気の温度を測定し、それを表すセンサデータを出力するように位置づけられたセンサと、
前記センサデータ出力、前記第1の冷媒調節弁の前記第1の制御入力、前記第2の冷媒調節弁の前記第2の制御入力及び前記熱電装置に連結され、前記第1の冷媒調節弁の前記第1の制御入力、前記第2の冷媒調節弁の前記第2の制御入力及び前記熱電装置に制御信号を送信することにより、前記センサデータに従って前記隔室の温度を制御するように構成されているコントローラと、をさらに備える、請求項8に記載の冷却システム。
