Claims (6)
- 透光性を有する表示基板及び前記表示基板と間隙を持って対向配置された背面基板を有する一対の基板と、前記表示基板側に設けられる第1電極と、前記背面基板側に設けられる複数の第2電極と、前記一対の基板間に封入され、前記一対の基板間に印加された電圧によって前記一対の基板のうちいずれか一方の基板に付着した状態から該基板を離脱する粒子を含み、画像情報に基づいて画像を表示する画像表示媒体の前記一対の基板間に前記電圧を印加する電圧印加手段と、
前記画像情報に基づいて前記粒子を駆動する駆動電圧を前記一対の基板間に印加する際に、前記駆動電圧の印加期間の中で、同じ画素情報を表示する隣接する前記第2電極間で電位差が発生する期間を設けるように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する制御手段と、
を備えた画像表示媒体の駆動装置であって、
前記印加期間には、前記隣接する2つの前記第2電極の各々に同時に前記駆動電圧が印加される期間があり、
前記駆動電圧が前記隣接する2つの前記第2電極の一方に印加される第1の期間の長さは、前記駆動電圧が前記隣接する2つの前記第2電極の他方に印加される第2の期間の長さと同じであり、
前記第1の期間の第1の開始タイミングは、前記第2の期間の第2の開始タイミングよりも時間的に前である、
画像表示媒体の駆動装置。 - 前記制御手段は、隣接する前記第2電極の何れか一方の駆動電圧の印加終了時に、隣接する前記第2電極間で電位差が発生するように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する請求項1に記載の画像表示媒体の駆動装置。
- 前記制御手段は、前記駆動電圧として、前記一対の基板のうち一方に付着した粒子を画像情報に応じた量の粒子を離脱させる大きさの第1電圧を印加した後に、前記第1電圧の絶対値より絶対値が小さい第2電圧を印加するように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する請求項1に記載の画像表示媒体の駆動装置。
- 前記制御手段は、隣接する前記第2電極間で電位差が発生する期間を前記第2電圧の印加期間に設けるように、前記電圧印加手段を制御する請求項3に記載の画像表示媒体の駆動装置。
- 透光性を有する表示基板及び前記表示基板と間隙を持って対向配置された背面基板を有する一対の基板と、前記表示基板側に設けられる第1電極と、前記背面基板側に設けられる複数の第2電極と、前記一対の基板間に封入され、前記一対の基板間に印加された電圧によって前記一対の基板のうちいずれか一方の基板に付着した状態から該基板を離脱する粒子を含み、画像情報に基づいて画像を表示する画像表示媒体と、
請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の画像表示媒体の駆動装置と、
を備えた画像表示装置。 - コンピュータを、請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の画像表示媒体の駆動装置の前記制御手段として機能させるための駆動プログラム。
