Description
本願は、2017年7月19日出願の米国特許出願第15/654,643号の優先権を主張し、その開示のすべてが参照により本明細書に援用される。
開示の本発明は、無線送信及び受信の双方又は何れか一方のアンテナに関するものであるとともに、このようなアンテナ及びこれに関連するマイクロストリップ、ストリップライン又はその他のような給電回路網の製造方法にも関するものである。
先の開示において、本発明者は、アンテナ特性を制御するために可変誘電率(VDC)を利用し、これによりソフトウェアデファインドアンテナを形成するアンテナを開示している。そのアンテナについての詳細は、米国特許第7,466,269号明細書に開示されており、その開示のすべてが、参照により本明細書に援用される。この米国特許第7,466,269号明細書に開示されているアンテナは、LCDスクリーンの上部上に単に放射素子及び給電ラインを形成することにより、作動可能であり、容易に製造されることが実証されている。したがって、ソフトウェアデファインドアンテナを改良する別の可能性をさらに調査すべく、さらに研究が行われてきた。
Claims (20)
- 絶縁基板と、
前記絶縁基板の上面上に設けた複数の導電性パッチと、
可変誘電率(VDC)プレートと、
前記VDCプレート上に設けられた複数の導電性遅延ラインであって、当該各遅延ラインは、RF信号を前記複数の導電性パッチの1つに結合する、複数の導電性遅延ラインと、
前記VDCプレートの下に設けられた接地面であって、前記RF信号の接地路に対して短絡を形成するような大きさの少なくとも1つのDC遮断部を備える接地面と、を備えるアンテナ。 - 前記VDCプレートは、複数のVDCピクセルを画定し、前記アンテナは、さらに、前記複数のVDCピクセルのそれぞれに対応する少なくとも1つの作動電極を備える、請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 複数の前記遅延ラインのそれぞれは、コントローラから作動信号を受信するように構成された作動信号入力部を備える請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記作動信号は矩形波信号を含む請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記接地面は、当該接地面を複数の接地ストリップに分割する複数の細長いDC遮断部を備える請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記DC遮断部の幅は、前記RF信号の波長に対してλ/10以下である請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記接地面は、さらに、複数の開口部を備え、当該開口部のそれぞれは、前記導電性遅延ラインの1つの下側に整列される請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記接地面は、複数のDC遮断部を備え、当該DC遮断部のそれぞれは、前記接地面全体を横切り、よって、前記接地面を、複数の物理的に分離された接地パッチに分割する請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 各放射パッチは、導電性スタブを備え、当該導電性スタブのそれぞれは、コントローラの作動信号ラインに結合される請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 各導電性遅延ラインは、コントローラの作動信号ラインに結合される請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- コントローラをさらに備え、当該コントローラは、複数の共通信号出力部を備え、当該共通信号出力部のそれぞれは前記接地パッチの一つに結合される請求項8に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記可変誘電率層が、上部バインダ層と、下部バインダ層と、前記上部バインダ層と前記下部バインダ層との間に挟まれている可変誘電率材料と、前記上部バインダ層と前記下部バインダ層との間に分散された複数のスペーサとを備える請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記接地面は、複数のDC遮断部を備え、当該DC遮断部のそれぞれは、前記接地面全体を横切って、前記接地面を複数の細長い列に分割し、前記列のそれぞれは、導電性遅延ラインの列の下側に整列される請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記細長い列の各列は、コントローラの共通信号出力部に別々に結合される請求項13に記載のアンテナ。
- 絶縁スペーサの上面に設けられ、横列と縦列とのアレイに配列された複数の放射パッチを備える放射層と、
横列と縦列とのアレイに配列された複数の遅延ラインを備える送信層であって、各遅延ラインが前記放射パッチの対応体に結合される複数の遅延ラインを備える送信層と、
可変誘電率(VDC)プレートを備える制御層と、
RF信号を前記放射パッチのそれぞれへ結合するためのRF結合構成と、
複数の導電性接地パッチを備える接地層であって、各導電性接地パッチは、隣接する導電性接地パッチと前記RF信号の波長の1/10以下の間隔を置いて分離される接地層とを備える多層アンテナ。 - 前記導電性接地パッチは、前記遅延ラインの列の下に配列される請求項15に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記導電性接地パッチは、前記遅延ラインの単一の遅延ラインの下に配列される請求項15に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記導電性接地パッチは、コントローラの共通信号出力部に別々に結合される請求項15に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記導電性接地パッチのすべては、前記RF信号用の共通の接地をともに形成する請求項15に記載のアンテナ。
- 前記導電性接地パッチは、前記導電性遅延ラインの一つの下に配列される少なくとも1つの開口部を備える請求項15に記載のアンテナ。
