Description
本特許出願は、2015年12月15日に出願された、「Microporous Insulators Having Multifunctional Particles,」と題された米国仮特許出願公開第62/267,447号、2015年12月15日に出願された、「Microporous Insulators Having Multifunctional Particles,」と題された米国仮特許出願公開第62/267,455号、2016年6月29日に出願された、「Microporous Insulators Having Multifunctional Particles,」と題された米国仮特許出願公開第62/356,322号、の米国特許法第119条(e)の下で利益を主張するものであり、それらの各々は、参照によりその全体が本明細書に組み込まれる。

Claims (24)
- 第1のバッテリセルと、
第2のバッテリセルと、
前記第1のバッテリセルと前記第2のバッテリセルとの間に配置された絶縁体と、を備える装置であって、
前記絶縁体は、
多孔質構造を有する無機断熱材料と、
前記第1及び第2のバッテリセルが熱暴走したときに揮発するバインダであって、前記バインダは前記多孔質構造内に配置されたバインダと、を備え、
前記絶縁体は少なくとも10体積%の前記バインダを含み、
前記絶縁体の熱伝導率は、前記熱暴走の後に、25℃で0.05W/m・K未満であり、
前記絶縁体の熱伝導率は、前記熱暴走の前に、25℃で0.1W/m・Kを超える、装置。 - 前記多孔質構造は、500nm未満の平均細孔径を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記無機断熱材料は、ヒュームドシリカを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記無機断熱材料は、シリカエアロゲルを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、ポリプロピレンカーボネートである、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、前記絶縁体の少なくとも20体積%を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、前記絶縁体の少なくとも50体積%を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、前記絶縁体の少なくとも70体積%を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、1気圧で500℃以下の温度で揮発する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記無機断熱材料と接触している繊維状材料を更に備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、1気圧で300℃以下の温度で揮発する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、1気圧で250℃以下の温度で揮発する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、1気圧で200℃以下の温度で揮発する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、1気圧で175℃以下の温度で揮発する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記バインダは、1気圧で150℃以下の温度で揮発する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記熱暴走の後で、0.15g/mL以上の密度を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記熱暴走の後で、25℃で0.4W/m・K以下の熱伝導率を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記繊維状材料は、グラスファイバ、セラミックファイバ、シリカファイバから選択される、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記繊維状材料は、グラスファイバを含む、請求項18に記載の装置。
- 前記絶縁体は、炭化ケイ素、チタニア、又は炭素質材料を含む乳白剤を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記乳白剤は、炭化ケイ素を含む、請求項20に記載の装置。
- 前記乳白剤は、チタニアを含む、請求項20に記載の装置。
- 前記絶縁体は、前記熱暴走の後より、前記熱暴走の前で、より大きな機械的強度を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記機械的強度は、曲げ強度であり、
前記曲げ強度は、前記熱暴走の後より、前記熱暴走の前で10倍以上大きい、請求項23に記載の装置。
