Description
下記のとおり、例1~3に係る評価用二次電池を作製した。
-例1-
正極活物質としてのLiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2(LNCM)と、導電材としてのアセチレンブラック(AB)と、バインダとしてのポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)とを、LNCM:AB:PVdF=87:10:3の質量比でN-メチルピロリドン(NMP)と混合し、正極活物質層形成用スラリーを調製した。また、アクリル樹脂を、固形分率が35%となるように水に分散させて、塗膜形成用スラリーを調製した。この正極活物質形成用スラリーを長尺なシート状のアルミニウム箔の両面に塗布した。その後、これを乾燥して正極活物質層を形成し、ロールプレスした。そして、正極活物質層が形成されたアルミニウム箔を所望のサイズにカットして、正極シートを作製した。
塗膜形成用スラリーとして、N-メチルピロリドン(NMP)中に質量割合が5質量%となるようにポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)を溶解させたものを用意し、これを使用した。それ以外は例1と同様の材料および手順を用いて、例2に係る評価用二次電池を作製した。
塗膜形成を行わなかった以外は例1と同様の材料および手順を用いて、例3に係る評価用二次電池を作製した。
上記試験用二次電池を、所定条件の下で活性化処理を行い、初期容量を取得した。かかる初期容量は、4Ahであった。上記試験用二次電池に対して、さらにエージング処理を行った。これをSOC80%に調整した後、0℃の環境下に置いた。この二次電池に対し、10秒間の20Cでの定電流充電および20秒間の10Cでの定電流放電を1サイクルとする充放電サイクルを、1000サイクル繰り返した。なお、充電と放電との間に、3分間の休止時間を設けた。その後、試験用二次電池を解体し、負極を取り出し、正極シートに設けられた絶縁テープと対向する負極活物質層の端部の一部を切り出し、金属リチウム析出の有無を目視で確認するとともに、電子スピン共鳴法(ESR)による分析を行った。そして、3445G付近のピーク強度から析出したリチウム量を定量した。結果を表1に示す。なお、表1の「Li析出」欄における「なし」は、ESRの分析によっても金属リチウムが検出されなかったことを示している。

Claims (4)
- 長尺なシート状の正極集電体および該正極集電体の表面に形成された正極活物質層を有する正極シートと、長尺なシート状の負極集電体および該負極集電体の表面に形成された負極活物質層を有する負極シートとが、セパレータを介在させつつ長手方向に捲回された捲回電極体、および、
非水電解液、
を備える二次電池であって、
前記正極シートの前記長手方向の少なくとも一方の端部には、
前記端部を覆い、かつ、前記正極活物質層の上に貼り付けられた絶縁テープと、
前記絶縁テープの縁に沿って前記正極活物質層上に設けられた、電池反応に対して不活性な塗膜と、
が設けられており、
ここで、前記塗膜の厚みは、前記絶縁テープの縁から遠ざかるにつれて小さくなっている、二次電池。 - 前記絶縁テープと前記塗膜とを、前記正極シートの前記長手方向の両端に備える、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記塗膜として、無機フィラーと樹脂バインダとを含むフィラー層、および/または、樹脂バインダから構成される樹脂層を備える、請求項1または2に記載の二次電池。
- 前記樹脂バインダは、アクリル樹脂およびハロゲン化ビニル樹脂からなる群から選択された少なくとも一種の樹脂材料によって構成されている、請求項3に記載の二次電池。
