行なう通信装置とを備える。ハウジングの内径面と内輪との間のいずれかの領域に、電磁波を通過させるための非磁性領域が形成される。

(図1においては左側)には図示しないエンドミル等の切削工具が接続される。本実施の形態において、主軸4の軸径は70mmに設定され、主軸4の最高回転速度は20000回転/分に設定されている。
上述のように、本実施の形態による軸受装置30においては、複数のセンサと通信装置141とを内蔵する通信モジュール140が軸受5aと軸受5bとの間に配置され、各センサの検出結果を示すデータを無線で外部に送信するように構成される。
上述の実施の形態においては、軸受5aの内輪5iaの外径寸法D1を外輪5gaの内径寸法D2未満にし、かつ転動体Taの素材を非磁性材料とすることによって、内輪5iaと外輪5gaとの間に非磁性領域を形成している。
図4は、本変形例2による軸受装置30Aを備えるスピンドル装置1Aの概略構成を示す断面図である。軸受装置30Aは、上述の図1に示す軸受装置30の通信モジュール140を通信モジュール140Aに変更し、かつ非磁性材料を素材とするOリング160を追加したものである。スピンドル装置1Aおよび軸受装置30Aのその他の構成は、上述のスピンドル装置1および軸受装置30と同じである。

図5は、本変形例3による軸受装置30Bを備えるスピンドル装置1Bの概略構成を示す断面図である。軸受装置30Bは、上述の図4に示す軸受装置30AのOリング160に代えてバンド162を追加したものである。スピンドル装置1Bおよび軸受装置30Bのその他の構成は、上述のスピンドル装置1および軸受装置30と同じである。
各軸受5a,5bの外輪5ga,5gbの外径面とハウジング3の内径面との間に配置する部品は、上述の変形例2におけるOリング160や変形例3におけるバンド162のような円環状の部品に限定されない。たとえば、短冊形状の部品や、紙片状の部品を外輪外径面とハウジング内径面の間に配置することによって、データを送信するために必要な空間を確保するようにしてもよい。
Claims (8)
- 筒状のハウジングの内部に収容される軸受装置であって、
内輪と外輪と前記内輪および前記外輪の間に配置される複数の転動体とを有する第1軸受と、
前記第1軸受と前記第1軸受とは異なる第2軸受との間に配置される間座に露出した状態で取り付けられ、電磁波を用いた無線通信を行なう通信モジュールとを備え、
前記ハウジングの内径面と前記内輪との間のいずれかの領域に、前記電磁波を前記ハウジングおよび前記間座を経由させることなく前記軸受装置の外部に通過させるための非磁性領域が形成される、軸受装置。 - 前記内輪の外径は前記外輪の内径以下となるように形成され、
前記非磁性領域は、前記内輪と前記外輪とで挟まれた領域に形成され、
前記間座は、前記外輪と前記第2軸受の外輪との間に配置される外輪間座を含み、
前記通信モジュールは、前記外輪間座の軸方向の端面に露出した状態で取り付けられる、請求項1に記載の軸受装置。 - 前記第1軸受および前記第2軸受は、アンギュラ玉軸受であり、
前記複数の転動体は、前記内輪と前記外輪とで挟まれたピッチ円周上に互いに所定間隔を隔てて配置され、
前記ピッチ円周上における前記複数の転動体の占有率は、40%以上かつ90%以下である、請求項1または2に記載の軸受装置。 - 前記複数の転動体の素材は、非磁性材料である、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の軸受装置。
- 前記複数の転動体の素材は、磁性材料である、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の軸受装置。
- 前記第1軸受と前記第2軸受との間に配置され、前記通信モジュールに電力を供給する自己発電装置をさらに備える、請求項1~5のいずれかに記載の軸受装置。
- 前記通信モジュールは、前記第1軸受が許容回転速度で回転している時における前記転動体の公転周期を上回る周波数の電磁波を用いた無線通信を行なう、請求項1~6のいずれかに記載の軸受装置。
- 前記第1軸受および前記第2軸受は、工作機械の主軸の支持に用いられるものである、請求項1~7のいずれかに記載の軸受装置。
