Description

前記帯電粒子および前記流体は、複数のカプセルまたはマイクロセル内に閉じ込められている、項目12に記載の電気泳動ディスプレイ。

Claims (12)
- アレイにおける複数のディスプレイピクセルを有するカラー電気泳動ディスプレイを駆動する方法であって、各ディスプレイピクセルは、少なくとも3つの原色を表示することが可能であり、前記方法は、
入力画像を受信することと、
前記入力画像を処理することにより、各ディスプレイピクセルにおいて前記少なくとも3つの原色のそれぞれに対して分離累積値を定義することであって、ディスプレイピクセルにおける前記入力画像の色は、一組の重みを用いて前記少なくとも3つの原色の線形結合によって定義され、ディスプレイピクセルにおける前記少なくとも3つの原色のうちのk番目の原色に対する分離累積値は、1番目の重みからk番目の重みまでの前記一組の重みの部分和である、ことと、
複数の分離累積値に対する複数の閾値のアレイを定義することであって、前記複数の閾値のアレイの各構成要素は、ディスプレイピクセルにおける前記複数の分離累積値と比較するための、対応するディスプレイピクセルにおける閾値を含む、ことと、
各ディスプレイピクセルに命令を送信することにより、そのディスプレイピクセルにおける前記複数の閾値のアレイのうちの閾値を上回る複数の分離累積値のうちの最小の分離累積値に対応する前記少なくとも3つの原色のうちの1つを表示することと
を含む、方法。 - 各ディスプレイピクセル(i,j)における前記少なくとも3つの原色のうちの前記1つは、
k=1の場合には、Λk(i,j)>T(i,j)の場合、y(i,j)=Pkによって決定され、
k≧2の場合には、Λk(i,j)>T(i,j)であるがΛk-1(i,j)≦T(i,j)の場合、y(i,j)=Pkによって決定され、
y(i,j)は、ディスプレイピクセル(i,j)における出力であり、
Pkは、前記少なくとも3つの原色のうちのk番目の原色であり、
Λk(i,j)は、ディスプレイピクセル(i,j)におけるPkに対する分離累積値であり、
Λk-1(i,j)は、ディスプレイピクセル(i,j)における前記少なくとも3つの原色のうちの(k-1)番目の原色に対する分離累積値であり、
T(i,j)は、ディスプレイピクセル(i,j)における前記複数の閾値のアレイのうちの閾値である、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の閾値のアレイは、ブルーノイズマスク(BNM)を組み込む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記入力画像を処理することは、ルックアップテーブルによって実装される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、前記入力画像を処理することの前に前記入力画像を鮮明化フィルタに通すことをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記鮮明化フィルタは、有限インパルス応答(FIR)フィルタである、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも3つの原色は、シアン色、黄色、マゼンタ色、黒色である、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 請求項1に記載の方法を実行するように構成されている電気泳動ディスプレイ。
- 電気泳動材料は、流体中に配置されている複数の帯電粒子を備え、前記複数の帯電粒子は、電場の影響下で前記流体を通して移動することが可能である、請求項10に記載の電気泳動ディスプレイ。
- 前記複数の帯電粒子および前記流体は、複数のカプセルまたは複数のマイクロセル内に閉じ込められている、請求項11に記載の電気泳動ディスプレイ。
