Description
図1は本実施形態における表示装置10の概略構成を示すブロック図である。表示装置10は、制御部11、データ駆動部12、ゲート駆動部13、補償部14、表示パネル15を含む。
本発明の第2実施形態に係る表示装置について、図6を参照しながら第1実施形態との相違点を中心に説明する。
第1実施形態、第2実施形態では、制御部11が補償部14とは別個の構成として記述された。しかしながら、補償部14は制御部11と別個に設けられなくともよい。例えば、制御部11は1つのチップにより構成され、補償部14は制御部11のチップ内に集積され、制御部11は補償部14の有するすべての機能を提供するように構成されてもよい。

Claims (16)
- それぞれが複数の副画素を含む複数の画素および前記複数の副画素により共有されるゲート線を有する画素アレイと、
前記ゲート線を介して前記複数の副画素にゲート信号を供給するゲート駆動部と、
データ線を介して前記複数の副画素のそれぞれにデータ信号を供給するデータ駆動部と、
前記画素に含まれる前記複数の副画素から、前記副画素の劣化情報に基づきいずれかの副画素を選択し、選択された副画素に前記データ信号を前記データ駆動部から供給する制御部と、
前記選択された副画素の特性を取得する補償部と
を含み、
前記劣化情報は、前記副画素に供給されたデータ信号の入力値の累計についての情報を含む累積データであり、
前記複数の副画素は互いに異なる第1発光色、第2発光色を有し、
前記制御部は、前記累積データ、前記第1発光色の有する輝度の最大値および前記第2発光色の有する輝度の最大値に基づき、前記複数の副画素の中から劣化の最も大きいと推定された副画素を選択する、
表示装置。 - 複数の前記画素のそれぞれは、選択されていない第1副画素と選択された第2副画素とを含み、
前記補償部は、一の画素の前記第1副画素の前記累積データと他の画素の前記第2副画素から取得された前記特性とに基づき前記一の画素の前記第1副画素の前記特性を推定する、
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記一の画素の前記第1副画素は、前記他の画素の前記第2副画素と同一の発光色を有する、
請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記補償部は、複数の前記他の画素の中で前記第1副画素に最も近い前記他の画素の前記第2副画素の特性に基づき、前記一の画素の前記第1副画素の前記特性を推定する、
請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - 前記補償部は、さらに前記第2副画素から取得された前記特性に基づき、前記第1副画素の前記特性を推定する、
請求項4に記載の表示装置。 - 前記補償部は、さらに前記第1副画素から前記第2副画素までの距離に応じて前記第1副画素の前記特性を推定する、
請求項5に記載の表示装置。 - 前記補償部は前記複数の副画素のうちの2つの副画素から前記特性を取得する、
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記劣化の最も大きい副画素が前記第1発光色または前記第2発光色を有しない場合に、前記制御部は、前記第1発光色を有する副画素の前記累積データおよび前記第2発光色を有する副画素の前記累積データを比較し、より劣化の大きい副画素を選択する、
請求項7に記載の表示装置。 - 前記累積データに基づき前記第1発光色を有する第1の副画素および前記第2発光色を有する第2の副画素の劣化の大きさが同じであると判断された場合に、前記制御部は、前記第1の副画素および前記第2の副画素からより大きい前記輝度の最大値を有する副画素を選択する、
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - それぞれが複数の副画素を含む複数の画素および前記複数の副画素により共有されるゲート線を有する画素アレイと、
前記ゲート線を介して前記複数の副画素にゲート信号を供給するゲート駆動部と、
データ線を介して前記複数の副画素のそれぞれにデータ信号を供給するデータ駆動部と、
前記画素に含まれる前記複数の副画素から、前記副画素の劣化情報に基づきいずれかの副画素を選択し、選択された副画素に前記データ信号を前記データ駆動部から供給する制御部と、
前記選択された副画素の特性を取得する補償部と
を含み、
前記劣化情報は、前記副画素に供給されたデータ信号の入力値の累計についての情報を含む累積データであり、
前記制御部は、前記累積データに基づき前記複数の副画素から劣化の最も大きいと推定された前記副画素を選択し、
前記複数の副画素は第1発光色を有する第1副画素および第2発光色を有する第2副画素を含み、
所定の画素範囲内において前記第1副画素が所定の割合を超えて選択された場合に、前記制御部は、前記所定の画素範囲内において、前記第1副画素と前記第2副画素との間の劣化の大きさの差異が相対的に小さい画素を選択し、選択された前記画素のうちの前記劣化の最も大きい副画素である前記第1副画素を選択の対象から除外し、前記選択された画素のうちの前記第2副画素を選択する、
表示装置。 - 所定の画素範囲内において選択されていない発光色がある場合に、前記制御部は前記劣化の最も大きい副画素に代えて前記選択されていない発光色に対応する副画素を選択する、

取得された前記特性に基づき前記選択された副画素の前記特性の変化が補償されたデータ電圧を生成し、
推定された前記特性に基づき、前記第1副画素の前記特性の変化が補償されたデータ電圧を生成する、
請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記データ駆動部は、前記選択された副画素に前記データ信号を供給する際に前記選択された副画素を除いた副画素に黒色に対応する黒データ電圧を供給する、
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記データ駆動部は、前記データ信号を供給する前に、前記複数の副画素により共有される基準線を介して所定の基準電圧を前記複数の副画素に供給し、
前記補償部は、前記基準線を介して前記特性を取得する、
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記画素アレイに含まれるすべての前記画素から前記副画素をそれぞれ選択し、
前記補償部は、選択されたすべての前記副画素からそれぞれ前記特性を取得する、
