Description
本出願は、2017年10月20日に出願された米国特許出願第15/789,533号に対する利益を主張し、該出願は参照によりその全体が本明細書に組み込まれる。
車両の様々なセンサとの間に信号の通信を提供することが望ましい場合がある。たとえば、1つ以上のセンサが車両のルーフに取り付けられ得る。センサの動作中、センサは、回転プラットフォーム上に取り付けられるなどして、垂直軸を中心に回転(たとえば、360°)され得る。センサおよびプラットフォームは回転しているが、センサが車両上の構成要素とデータ通信することが望ましい場合がある。したがって、回転センサと車両との間で信号を確実に通信できるシステムを有することが望ましい場合がある。
例示的な実施形態では、例示的な自律走行車システムは、1つ以上のプロセッサ、1つ以上の形態のメモリ、1つ以上の入力デバイス/インターフェース、1つ以上の出力デバイス/インターフェース、および1つ以上のプロセッサによって実行されるとき、上述した様々な機能、タスク、能力などをシステムに実行させる機械可読命令を含み得る。
あるケースにおいては、図2に関連して上述したセンサユニット202は、LIDAR、RADAR、他の光学センサ、および/または他のセンサなどの様々なセンサを含み得る。センサの動作中、センサユニットと車両の様々なシステムとの間で大量のデータを通信することが望ましい場合がある。
Claims (15)
- 光検出および測距(LIDAR)システムであって、
第1の導波路セクションを有し、固定された位置で車両に結合される非回転ユニットと、
第2の導波路セクションを有する回転ユニットと、
誘電体導波路を有するロータリージョイントと、を備え、
前記ロータリージョイントが、前記回転ユニットが前記非回転ユニットに対して回転することを可能とするように構成され、
同じ垂直軸が前記第1の導波路セクションの中心および前記第2の導波路セクションの中心を通過し、前記回転ユニットと前記非回転ユニットとの間で電磁信号が伝搬可能となるように、前記誘電体導波路が、前記第1の導波路セクションおよび前記第2の導波路セクションを整列させるように構成され、
前記回転ユニットがLIDARセンサを含み、前記電磁信号が前記LIDARセンサからのLIDARデータを含む、LIDARシステム。 - 前記電磁信号が、前記LIDARセンサを制御するための制御信号をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のLIDARシステム。
- 前記LIDARセンサが、1つ以上のレーザ源と、1つ以上の検出器とを含む、請求項1に記載のLIDARシステム。
- 前記LIDARセンサが、レーザスキャナをさらに含む、請求項3に記載のLIDARシステム。
- 前記LIDARデータが、前記LIDARセンサの環境内の反射物体までの距離を含む、請求項1に記載のLIDARシステム。

- 前記第1の導波路セクション、前記第2の導波路セクションおよび前記誘電体導波路が、円形導波路である、請求項1に記載のLIDARシステム。
- 車両であって、
コンピューティングデバイスと、
前記車両に結合された光検出および測距(LIDAR)システムと、を備え、
前記LIDARシステムが、
第1の導波路セクションを有し、固定された位置で前記車両に結合される非回転ユニットと、
第2の導波路セクションを有する回転ユニットと、
誘電体導波路を有するロータリージョイントと、を含み、
前記ロータリージョイントが、前記回転ユニットが前記非回転ユニットに対して回転することを可能とするように構成され、
同じ垂直軸が前記第1の導波路セクションの中心および前記第2の導波路セクションの中心を通過し、前記回転ユニットと前記非回転ユニットとの間で電磁信号が伝搬可能となるように、前記誘電体導波路が、前記第1の導波路セクションおよび前記第2の導波路セクションを整列させるように構成され、
前記回転ユニットがLIDARセンサを含み、前記電磁信号が前記LIDARセンサからのLIDARデータを含む、車両。 - 前記電磁信号が、前記LIDARセンサを制御するための制御信号をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の車両。
