本明細書に記載されるような反応性ホットメルト接着剤の実施形態を詳細に参照する。反応性ホットメルト接着剤の実施形態は、少なくとも1つのイソシアネート化合物、少なくとも1つのポリエステルポリオール、少なくとも1つのポリエーテルポリオール、及び少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリマーを含んでもよい。少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリマーは、177℃で75,000cP未満の粘度を有してもよい。熱可塑性ポリマーは、エチレン-アクリル-一酸化炭素ターポリマー、エチレン-(C3-C12)アルキレン-アクリル-一酸化炭素テトラポリマー、又はそれらの組み合わせを含んでもよい。
粘度
粘度は、ASTM D3236.20832の修正版であるBrookfield粘度試験法に従って測定される。粘度は、Brookfield Laboratories DVII+粘度計及び使い捨てアルミニウム試料チャンバで測定する。使用されるスピンドルは、SC-31熱溶融型スピンドルであり、10~100,000センチポアズの範囲内の粘度を測定するのに適している。試料をチャンバに注入し、次にこれをBrookfield Thermoselに挿入し、所定の位置に固定する。試料チャンバは、スピンドルが挿入され、回転している場合に、チャンバが確実に回転しないようにするために、Brookfield Thermoselの底部に適合するノッチを底部に有する。溶融試料が試料チャンバの上部から約2.54cm(1インチ)(およそ8グラムの樹脂)下になるまで、試料を測定温度(別段の指示がない限り177℃)に加熱する。粘度計装置を下降させ、スピンドルを試料チャンバに浸す。粘度計上のブラケットがThermosel上に整列するまで、下降を続ける。粘度計をオンにしてせん断速度で動作するように設定すると、30~60%の範囲でトルクが読み取られる。約15分の間、毎分読み取り値を取得するか、又は値が安定するまで読み取り値を取得し、その時点で最終読み取り値を記録する。
開放時間は、以下の工程を使用して試験した:1)接着剤を121℃に予熱する工程、2)接着剤を平坦な木製ストリップ上にコーティングする工程、3)第2の木製ストリップを接着剤上に配置する工程、4)両方のストリップを25℃に冷却する工程、及び5)2つの木製ストリップを分離する工程。2つのストリップを分離する際に、第2の木製ストリップ上に接着剤残留物があるかどうかをチェックする。第2のストリップ上に残留物が残っていない最後の時間が開放時間である。
生結合強度を、以下の工程を使用して試験した:1)接着剤を121℃に予熱する、2)接着剤を15mm幅の木製ストリップ上に220gsmの荷重で直ちにコーティングする、3)第2の木製ストリップを接着剤ゾーン上に配置する、4)試料を30分間静置させる、5)試料を引張試験する。試料のせん断強度を、250mm/分の速度でInstron 5940機で試験する。
最終接着強度を、以下の工程を使用して試験した:1)接着剤を121℃に予熱する、2)接着剤を15mm幅の木製ストリップ上に220gsmの荷重で直ちにコーティングする、3)第2の木製ストリップを接着剤ゾーン上に配置する、4)試料を25℃で7日間静置する、5)試料を試験する。試料のせん断強度を、250mm/分の速度でInstron 5940機で試験する。
EPBACO(テトラポリマー)、EBACO 1(ターポリマー)、及びEBACO 2(ターポリマー)と表示された3つの熱可塑ポリマーを調製した。熱可塑性ポリマーを調製するために、545ミリリットル(mL)の撹拌オートクレーブに、エチレン(E)、n-ブチルアクリレート(nBA)、一酸化炭素(CO)、及びアセトン又はプロピレンのいずれか(以下の表1に示す通り)の混合物を充填した。無臭ミネラルスピリット中の有機過酸化物(t-ブチルペルオクトエート)の1重量%~3重量%溶液を重合開始剤として混合物に添加した。反応器は、約27,000psi(1,898kg/cm2)の圧力設定点及び205℃の目標温度で構成された。表1に示した重合条件下で、熱可塑性ポリマーを連続的に合成し、その後、溶融押出によってペレット形態に変換した。表1に列記されている条件は、ポリマーが収集されたタイムスパンの平均である。
実施例2:反応性ホットメルト接着剤の調製

- 反応性ホットメルト接着剤であって、
少なくとも1つのイソシアネート化合物と、
少なくとも1つのポリエステルポリオールと、
少なくとも1つのポリエーテルポリオールと、
少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリマーと
を含み、
前記熱可塑性ポリマーは、177℃で25,000~70,000mPa・sの粘度を有するエチレン-ブチルアクリレート-一酸化炭素ターポリマー、177℃で25,000~70,000mPa・sの粘度を有するエチレン-プロピレン-ブチルアクリレート-一酸化炭素テトラポリマー、またはその両方であり、
前記エチレン-ブチルアクリレート-一酸化炭素ターポリマーは、当該ターポリマーの総重量に基づき、50重量%~70重量%のエチレンと、25重量%~35重量%のブチルアクリレートと、5重量%~15重量%の一酸化炭素(CO)からなり、
前記エチレン-プロピレン-ブチルアクリレート-一酸化炭素テトラポリマーは、当該テトラポリマーの総重量に基づき、50重量%~60重量%のエチレンと、1重量%~4重量%のプロピレンと、25重量%~35重量%のブチルアクリレートと、5重量%~15重量%の一酸化炭素(CO)からなり、
前記反応性ホットメルト接着剤は、前記反応性ホットメルト接着剤の総重量に基づき、前記少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリマーを10~25重量%含む、前記反応性ホットメルト接着剤。 - 前記反応性ホットメルト接着剤が、10~30重量%の前記少なくとも1つのイソシアネート化合物を含む、請求項1に記載の反応性ホットメルト接着剤。
- 前記反応性ホットメルト接着剤が、2~15重量%の前記少なくとも1つのポリエステルポリオールを含む、請求項1に記載の反応性ホットメルト接着剤。
- 前記反応性ホットメルト接着剤が、50~70重量%の前記少なくとも1つのポリエーテルポリオールを含む、請求項1に記載の反応性ホットメルト接着剤。
