- 2つ以上のより軽い基油のブレンドが、API グループII基油、APIグループIII基油、APIグループIV基油、もしくはそれらの組み合わせから選択されるか、または前記少なくとも1つのより重い基油が、APIグループIII基油、APIグループIV基油、もしくはそれらの組み合わせから選択され、および/あるいは前記基油のブレンドが、少なくとも40重量パーセントの前記より重い基油を含む、請求項2に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記より軽い基油の前記より重い基油に対する比率が、1.55以下であり、および/または前記基油のブレンドが、40~60重量パーセントの前記より重い基油を含み、および/または前記少なくとも1つのより軽い基油が、各々が4.5cSt以下のKV100を有する2つ以上の基油のブレンドである、請求項1に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーが、140,000以上の数平均分子量を有し、および/または前記(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーが、500,000以下の数平均分子量を有する、請求項1に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーが、重合モノマー単位として、(iii)前記モノマーエステル部分に400以下の低重量平均分子量のヒドロカルビル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートモノマー単位をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーが、12~16個の炭素のヒドロカルビル部分を有する(メタ)アクリレートモノマーと、エチレン、プロピレン、ブテン、ブタジエン、イソプレン、またはそれらの組み合わせを含むアルケンまたはアルカジエンのマクロモノマーであって10,000以下の重量平均分子量を有するマクロモノマーから誘導されるヒドロカルビル部分を有する(メタ)アクリレートモノマーと、から誘導される、請求項6に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記コポリマーの前記(メタ)アクリレートモノマーエステル部分中の前記高重量平均分子量のヒドロカルビル基の前記低重量平均分子量のヒドロカルビル基に対する分子量比が、1.5:1~50:1である、請求項1に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- ヒドロカルビルで置換されたスクシンアミド分散剤もしくはスクシンイミド分散剤をさらに含み、および/または前記マルチグレード潤滑油組成物が、1~8重量パーセントの前記ヒドロカルビルで置換されたスクシンアミド分散剤もしくはスクシンイミド分散剤を含む、請求項1に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記ヒドロカルビルで置換されたスクシンアミド分散剤またはスクシンイミド分散剤が、ポリアルキレンポリアミンと反応させたヒドロカルビル置換アシル化剤から誘導され、前記スクシンアミド分散剤または前記スクシンイミド分散剤の前記ヒドロカルビル置換基が、ポリスチレンを較正基準として使用するGPCにより測定される場合に250~5,000の数平均分子量を有する直鎖もしくは分岐鎖ヒドロカルビル基である、請求項9に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- 前記ポリアルキレンポリアミンが、以下の式を有し、
式中、各RおよびR’が、独立して、二価C1~C6アルキレンリンカーであり、各R1およびR2が、独立して、水素、C1~C6アルキル基であるか、またはそれらが結合する窒素原子と一緒に、1つ以上の芳香環もしくは非芳香環と任意選択的に融合した5員環もしくは6員環を形成し、nが、0~8の整数である、請求項10に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。 - 前記ポリアルキレンポリアミンが、平均5~7個の窒素原子を有するポリエチレンポリアミンの混合物、トリエチレンテトラミン、テトラエチレンペンタアミン、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項11に記載のマルチグレード潤滑油組成物。
- より重い基油の量が増加した、少なくとも0W-16、0W-20、および5W-20グレード油のSAE J300認証を達成するマルチグレード潤滑油組成物を配合する方法であって、
ポリマー固体に基づいて1重量パーセント以下の(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーを有するある量の基油をブレンドして、100℃で9.3mm2/秒以下の動粘度および-35℃で6200mPa以下のCCS粘度を示し、かつ前記(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーを含まないマルチグレード潤滑油組成物と比較して目標CCS粘度において最大1KV単位低い動粘度を示す、マルチグレード潤滑油組成物を形成することを含み、
前記基油が、4.5cSt以下のKV100を有する少なくとも1つのより軽い基油と、5.5cSt以上のKV100を有する少なくとも1つのより重い基油とのブレンドを含み、前記基油のブレンドが、前記ブレンド中の基油の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも20重量パーセントの前記少なくとも1つのより重い基油を有し、
前記(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーが、重合モノマー単位として、(i)モノマーエステル部分に500~700の中間重量平均分子量のヒドロカルビル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートモノマー単位と、(ii)前記モノマーエステル部分に6,000~10,000の高重量平均分子量のヒドロカルビル基を有する(メタ)アクリレートモノマー単位と、を含む、方法。 - 前記基油のブレンドが、1.55以下の前記より軽い基油の前記より重い基油に対する比率を含み、前記基油のブレンドが、40~60重量パーセントの前記より重い基油を含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記マルチグレード潤滑油組成物が、1~8重量パーセントの前記ヒドロカルビルで置換されたスクシンアミド分散剤またはスクシンイミド分散剤を含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
