Conventionally, there is a belt conveyor for returning and conveying invalid coins to a hopper (see Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 60-33691). As a result, invalid coins are returned to the hopper, and even valid coins are returned to the hopper if the depositor does not approve the coin acceptance.

It ends up. In such cases, with conventional coin processing machines, the depositor could take out the returned coins from the hopper even if the number of coins inserted and the number of returned coins were different. Trouble sometimes occurred with the person installing the treatment machine.

In a coin processing machine equipped with If the numbers do not match, the lock of the lid 4 is determined to be impossible to release, and if the number of properly inserted coins and the number of returned properly coins do not match, the lock of the lid 4 is determined to be impossible to release. The means for counting the coins to be returned includes holes 43 opened at regular intervals in the coin conveying section of the belt conveyor 37, and a counting sensor that transmits and receives signals passing through the holes 43. The number of coins is counted by blocking the signal passing through the coins by the returned coins.

Each is counted by a counting means. If the number of invalid coins thrown in and the number of invalid coins returned do not match, the lid 4 of the hopper 5 is not unlocked, and the depositor cannot take out the coins. Furthermore, even if the number of proper coins inserted does not match the number of proper coins returned, the lid 4 of the hopper 5 is not unlocked, and the depositor cannot take out the coins.

Since the sorting section 28 has a sorting port 30 from a small diameter to a large diameter, the denominations fall downward from the sorting port 30 and are sorted for each denomination. The sorted coins are stored by denomination in a storage cylinder 32 of a coin storage device 31 arranged below. When the storage tube 32 becomes full, the overflow device 33 switches the path, and only the one that is full changes its falling path to the safe side. Due to this path switching, full coins are directly collected into the safe device 38 via the chute 34.

2 to a predetermined number F of coins are discharged onto the horizontal conveyor 36. The horizontal conveyor 36 rotates in the direction of arrow b to send the coins forward, and the vertical conveyor 37 transports the coins upward, and the counting sensor 40 counts the number G of coins and discharges them into the hopper 5. and,
If F=G, the lid 4 is unlocked and can be taken out, and if F>G, the differential failure device is activated and the lid 4 is not unlocked.
