[Detailed explanation of the invention] This invention relates to a phototypesetting machine, and in detail, if there is an error in the settings of each part of the phototypesetting machine, typesetting commands, etc. that prevents correct printing, the content of the error will be displayed in a text containing kanji. It relates to a phototypesetting machine that can be displayed on a phototypesetting machine.

In recent years, phototypesetting machines have become capable of displaying various errors, as in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 53-118023. In this Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 53-118023, the details of the error to be displayed are, for example, "Code 1" for an error in setting the lens information, "Code 2" for an error in setting the feed amount, and "Code 3" for an error in setting the feed direction. "...If there is no remaining amount of photosensitive material, "Code 10" is used. If the lens is set out of the optical axis, "Code N" is used.
The contents of the error are analyzed in advance, a code is attached to each error, and the code is displayed.

Therefore, the operator cannot grasp the details of the error unless he refers to the displayed code with the comparison table. Also, instead of displaying the code, it can also be displayed in alphanumeric characters or kana, such as "MAGAZINE,""FILM,""LENS," or "Injiriyouikiover."

しかしアルフアベツトやカナで表示するより

However, it goes without saying that it is much easier to distinguish if the text is displayed in kanji, such as ``Printing area exceeded,'' rather than in alphanumeric characters or kana.

However, in order to be able to freely display thousands of kanji characters, it is necessary to store the display data for that many characters in memory, read it out and display it as necessary, and simply display the "error content". It is not economically advisable to retain a huge amount of data (memory) just for displaying it.

In other words, as is well known, it is difficult for Japanese texts, including kanji and hiragana, to be made available for general use unless thousands of character types are prepared, and even though the number of error messages is limited, the number of character types used is There is no denying that the number will be quite large. As the number of character types increases, the memory capacity increases and the cost inevitably increases. If you want to avoid this, you will have no choice but to display in alphabets or kana as mentioned above.

When the character data is transmitted to the control device 25, a signal for each character is sent to the control section 30. Since the control section is sent a signal for reading the control code stored in the dial 13, when the two match, the matching signal is sent to the light source control section 36 to operate the light source 10.

On the other hand, since the selector 16 operates to select only the required character luminous flux, the designated character luminous flux passes through the lens 17 and reaches the photosensitive material 18. When printing is completed in this manner, the feeding device 22 feeds the characters based on the formatting command, and thereafter processes are performed one after another to finish printing a predetermined number of characters.

The control device 25 immediately issues a print prohibition signal to stop reading the command tape 35 and stop the operation of the feeding device 22 and the light source control section 26. Furthermore, the prohibition signal is also transmitted to the mirror control section 29, which operates to set the mirror 24 on the optical axis so that the image from the dial 13 can be taken into the second optical system.

On the other hand, the code conversion circuit 31 that receives the error code signal converts it into a series of character codes corresponding to the error code, outputs it as a character code signal, and transmits it to the control device 25. If the code conversion circuit 31 is configured, for example, as a circuit in which a matrix is assembled so that a character code signal corresponding to the error content can be obtained in advance, an output converted into a character code can be easily obtained.

FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram of the image sensor 27 installed on the imaging plane of the second optical system in FIG. 2. A is a character on the dial 13, and in this example it is ``photograph'' (actually negative type is common). B is an explanatory diagram of an image sensor, which in this example is a 24×24 bit one. When the letter A is projected onto this image sensor, it will look like C. By scanning this image vertically in synchronization with the writing in the register 28 and shifting it sequentially, a signal corresponding to the character shape shown in D is obtained. Therefore, an image sensor that can cover an area for one character is sufficient.

written to the address. However, since no image is projected on the X2 column, nothing is written yet.
Next, when shifted to the X3 column, "1" signals appear in Y15 and Y16, so they are transferred to register 28-
Write on 15, 28-16. Thereafter, the entire area of the image sensor 27 is scanned in the same manner, and the results are written into the register 28. Next, when the ``force'' is projected, it is scanned in the same way and its data is written. In this way, data corresponding to the commanded error code is created and sequentially transmitted to the display section 33 and displayed.

Although the above description has been made based on the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the dial 13 is not only disc-shaped, but also drum-shaped, belt-shaped, wheel-shaped, etc.
The same is true for plate-shaped objects that move in XY. The light source 10 may be not only a flash lamp but also a continuous lighting type or a type using a shutter. In this case, the light source control section 36 can be read as a shutter control section, and the shutter can be replaced with the mirror 24.
If you install it on the front side (dial side), it can be processed in the same way. Furthermore, the image sensor can be replaced by other similar photoelectric conversion means, for example a vidicon. Many optical systems can be used without being limited to those shown. Similarly, many examples can be given, such as the sending device 22, the register 28, the code conversion circuit 31, and the display section 33.

As explained in detail above, according to the present invention, if an error occurs due to various information set in the phototypesetting machine or during printing, it will be detected and a printing prohibition signal will be issued to stop the printing operation. , generates the detected error content as an "error code", converts this code into a "character code" signal, and selects the corresponding character from the "dial" for printing already built into the phototypesetting machine. It is possible to select and expose them one after another and send them to the photoelectric conversion unit, and send the obtained digital signal to the display unit to display the error details in a sentence containing Chinese characters. In particular, we have made it possible for the dial containing characters to be printed to also be used as memory for error messages, so there is no need to prepare a huge amount of kanji data specifically for error messages. All contained characters can be used for error indication. Furthermore, as mentioned above, since errors containing kanji can be displayed using all the characters on the dial, the operator can immediately understand the error content without referring to a comparison table, etc., and can take correct action through quick dialogue. I can give lectures.
