ベルトを備えた自動車において、ラツプベルト又
はラツプベルトを付設した座席等の乗員拘束部材
に連結されたシリンダ機構を有し、車両衝突時に
乗員がステアリングホイールのリム下端に近接す
るまで乗員の所要ストロークの前方慣性移動を許
容し、所要ストローク移動後前記シリンダ機構を
作動して前記乗員拘束部材を急速に後方へ引き、
ラツプベルトを支点として乗員の上半身をステア
リングホイールに対して略直角の前傾姿勢にさせ
る乗員拘束制御手段と、減速度センサの検出作用
後、エアバツグ装置の作動を所定時間遅延させて
、バツグ本体の全開時期を前記乗員の前傾姿勢時
