Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は、2個の部材の接合方法に関する。
さらに詳しくは、接着による接合方法に関する。
この発明はまた、この方法によって得られる製品並びに
この方法の中で使用される諸要素にも関する。
近代工業は、ますます頻繁に、1個のユニット(組立体
)を構成する部品或いは要素の接合の問題に直面してい
る。もちろん、ボルト、ネジ、リベット等、非常に多く
の機械的接合装置はよ(知られている。更に、少なくと
もある種の材料については、比較的よく利用される接合
手段として、溶接を挙げることもできる。しかしながら
、現在では、接着が次第に一般的で普及した接合方法と
なってきている。この種の接合は、強力な断接着剤が市
場に現われたため、著しく発達してきた。
例えば、シアノアクリル酸塩系、エポキシ系或いはポリ
ウレタン系接着剤を挙げることができる。
接着による部品の接合は、興味深い技術であるが、いく
つかの欠点をも有する。実際ある種の接着剤は、例えば
各種成分の重合を起こすために加熱が必要であり、また
別の接着剤は、直ぐに効果を発揮するが、非常に高価で
あるため、少量(小部品)の接着にしか使用することが
できない。いずれにしても、接着は、費用がかかるが信
頼性の低い作業であって、殆どの場合、原則として技術
水準の高い多数の作業者を必要とし、彼らは、大抵の場
合、有害なだけでなく液体接着剤に伴なう毒性(シアン
化物の蒸気、揮発性アミン)さえ有する環境で働かなけ
ればならない。
これらの問題点は、熱硬化性、熱可塑性、含浸熱硬化性
或いは熱融解性接着剤を使用することによって、既に解
決されてきた。
それにも拘らず、熱硬化性接着剤は、例えば木材または
ポリウレタンフォーム、アクリルフオーム、フェノール
フオーム、ポリエチレンフオーム等のような発泡性合成
樹脂でできた断熱性或いは低熱伝導性部材の接合には使
用が難しいという欠点を有する。実際、接着剤が硬化し
てしまうので、こうした多少とも断熱性をもつ部材を通
して加熱をおこなわなければならず、従って多大なエネ
ルギーの消費を必要とする。
他に、「ホット・メルト」という名称でも知られる熱融
解性接着剤のフィルムを使用することもできるが、これ
らのフィルムの温度を融点以上にして、接着すべき表面
を非常に迅速に接触させなければならないので、利用方
法が難しい。この接触作業は、接着する表面が大寸法に
なればなるほど微妙かつ困難になる。
そこで、この発明は、これら全ての問題点の解消を望み
、特に簡単で信頼性に富み、かつ、経済的な接着方法を
提案するものである。
この発明に基づ(方法は、抵抗導体素子によって加熱さ
れる熱可塑性、熱融解性或いは熱硬化性接着剤のフィル
ムを使用するものである。このような方法により、接着
剤は直接に加熱され、かつ、エネルギー消費量は減少し
、接触圧力を維持しなければならないサイクル時間は短
縮される。
本発明の好ましい一実施態様によれば、接着用エレメン
トは抵抗素子により自己加熱式とされた接着剤のフィル
ムから成る。
本発明の補助的特徴によれば、該接着用エレメントは、
給電可能な抵抗素子を含む接着剤のフィルムから成る。
従って1、該接着用エレメントは自己加熱式である。
もちろん、熱可塑性、熱融解性或いは熱硬化性フィルム
から成る接着用エレメントは、銅、鋼、コンスタンタン
、フェロニッケル、アルミニウム、炭素等の各種抵抗素
子と組み合わせることができる。そのうえ、該抵抗素子
は、格子状、布状或いはマント状、さらに金属粉といっ
た各種の形状をもつことができる。
この発明のその他の特徴及び利点は添付の図面を参照し
て以下に記載する説明から明らかになるが、これらの図
面は参考例として示すものであってこの発明を限定する
ものではない。
第1図は、この発明に基づいて結合された2個の部材、
すなわち接着用エレメント3によって第2の部材2と一
体化された第1の部材1を示す。
該接着用エレメント3は、抵抗素子5.51を内蔵させ
ることによって、自己加熱式とした熱融解性或いは熱硬
化性フィルムから成る、本発明の好ましい一実施態様に
基づ(ものである。該熱融解性フィルムは、例えばイオ
ノマータイプの熱可塑性物質(エチレン・メタクリル酸
共重合体)でも、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体(EV
A)でも、ポリアミド或いはこれらを組み合わせたもの
でもよい。着想としては、抵抗素子5.51を用いて該
接着用エレメントを直接加熱し、熱融解性フィルムの温
度をその融点にほぼ等しい温度まで上昇させるとともに
、こうして軟化或いは液化したフィルムが向かいあう2
個の基層を湿らせ、かつ、冷却後に接合フィルムの形で
再び凝結するという能力を利用して、2個の部材を結合
するというものである。
第2図、第3図及び第3a図は、接着用エレメント3の
一実施態様を示す。この変形態様によれば、抵抗素子5
は、熱融解性フィルム30の中に埋設されている。この
埋設はそれ自体公知の方法であるプレス加工、貼合せ加
工(placage)、或いは共押出し加工によって製
作される。従って、これらの方決については特に説明し
ない。更に詳しく述べると、該貼合せ加工は、第2図、
第3図および第3a図に示すように、2枚のシート30
.30’によって該抵抗素子5の両側面に実施すること
ができるか、あるいは、第3b図に示すように片側面の
みに行なうことができる。
図示の実施例によれば、抵抗素子5はほぼ平行な線状で
あり、その材質は、銅、鋼、フェロニッケル、コンスタ
ンタン或いは炭素線または炭素繊維のいずれでもよい。
接着用エレメント3の加熱は、例えば抵抗素子5に給電
することによって行われ、その際、該抵抗素子は抵抗加
熱器の機能を果たす。この場合、通電を可能にするため
に、該抵抗素子5には熱融解性フィルムの長さを超える
延長部分50を設ける。
第2図に示される例は、並列な抵抗線の形態を呈してい
るが、第4図に示される形態をとっても全く構わない。
第5図は、抵抗素子5が金属製或いは炭素製の格子状の
外観をもつ変形例を示す。
上記の配置構成における問題点は、線ま”たは繊維の箇
所に熱が集中すること、および、その結果、熱融解性フ
ィルムの融解が均一ではなくかつ十分に満足できないも
のであり、従って接着不十分な部分が生じる危険がある
ということである。その他の特に有利な解決策は、例え
ば各種繊維間を結合する役目をする固定剤によって結合
された長さ6ないし24mの炭素繊維から成る不織炭素
マットを加熱素子として使用する方法である。炭素繊維
は一般的にPANと呼ばれているポリアクリロニトリル
系のものが好ましい。該炭素マットの構造は、セルロー
ス製吸取紙の構造に類似している。
加熱素子としての該炭素マットの利点は、ジュール効果
により結合面の全面積にわたって均一で安定した熱分布
を得て、熱融解性フィルムの−様な融解をもたらすこと
にある。
第6図、第7図および第7a図は、それぞれ第2図、第
3図および第3a図に対応する図であるが、熱可塑性物
質の2層(30及び30′)間に挟まれた炭素マット5
1から成る結合用エレメント3を示している。
この発明に基づく結合方法では、前述の接合用エレメン
ト3を使用する。図示された一実施態様において、該方
法は次の手順により実施される:a)接合する部材1.
2及び接着用エレメント3を準備する(第8図); b)接着用エレメント3を接合する2個の部材1.2の
間に入れる(第9図); C)接合する2個の部材1.2と接着用エレメント3と
を接触させる(第10図); d)軽い圧力Pを保ちながら抵抗素子5に電流52を供
給する(第11図);この段階で、抵抗素子の温度が上
昇して熱融解性フィルムの融解が生じ、これにより、前
述のように、2個の部材1.2が確実に接着される。電
流は、例えば1分間程度保持すれば十分である;   
 ・ e)電源を切り、冷却する。
接合する部材を加熱せずに融解接着用エレメントを直接
加熱するのであるから、このような方法の有利性が判る
加熱素子として炭素マットを使用すると、簡単に切断で
きて、さまざまな形状に製作できるという利点がある。
このことは、接合する部材の接合面20.10が複雑な
および/または変化する形状をもっている場合には、基
本的な利点となる:こうした形状の例は第12図に示さ
れている。この形状には、狭い中央部分180とともに
接着面の幅の変化が認められる。ところで、電気抵抗値
がR=ρ1/sのとき、Rは断面積に反比例し、その結
果、加熱素子の抵抗値Rは不規則となり、接着面での加
熱量は不均一になることがわかる。第13図および第1
4図に示される2の変形例のように、抵抗素子に切り抜
き500を施すことによって、この不規則性を緩和する
ことができる。但しこの場合、該抵抗素子は熱融解性フ
ィルムと結合して接着用エレメントを構成する。
また第15図および第16図に示すように実施すること
もできる。即ち、接合する2個の部材1、2が接着面に
熱融解性材料30.30′を有しており、抵抗素子51
はこの場合独立している。
さらに、第17図および第18図に示すような、片側だ
けにフィルム加工を施した炭素マットを使用することも
できる。この場合、部材1あるいは部材2は熱融解性物
質30を含み、マットの方は熱融解性物質30′の単一
層を担持する。
第19図および第20図は、この発明に基づく方法の別
の実施態様を示す図である。これによれば、接着ユニッ
トを構成する諸要素1.2.30.5.30′は、それ
ぞれ互いに独立しており、第20図に示すようにこの方
法自体を実施する時にのみ連結一体化する。異なった要
素1.30.5.30′、2が重ね合わさっているので
、前述の場合のようにユニット上に軽い圧力Pを保ちな
がら該抵抗素子5を電源52に接続すればよい。
もちろん、本説明は参考として示したものであり、この
発明の範囲内で他の実施方法を採用することもできるだ
ろう。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、接着用エレメント(3)として接着剤(30、30
    ′)を使用し、該接着剤を加熱素子により加熱すること
    を特徴とする、2の部材(1、2)を接合する方法。 2、前記加熱素子として、抵抗導体素子(5、51)を
    用いることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の接合方法。 3、前記抵抗導体素子として、銅、鋼あるいはコンスタ
    ンタンを用いることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の接合
    方法。 4、前記抵抗導体素子として、炭素繊維あるいは金属被
    覆を施した糸材を用いることを特徴とする請求項2に記
    載の接合方法。 5、格子状の抵抗導体素子、すなわち、ほぼ平行に配列
