  1. 字輪の回転により、字輪の有する活字ごとのタ
    イミングパルスを発生するとともに活字の初期位
    置を示すパルスを機種ごとに定められた長さで出
    力するプリンタと、このプリンタの初期位置を示
    すパルスの出力期間に発生される上記タイミング
    パルス数をカウントするカウント手段と、このカ
    ウント手段のカウント値より上記プリンタの機種
    を判別する機種判別手段とを具備したことを特徴
    とするプリンタ制御回路。
