290, the surface of the photosensitive drum 2900 is exposed to dots corresponding to the image. One horizontal scan of the laser beam corresponds to one horizontal scan of the image, which in this example is 1/16 mm.
The width is On the other hand, since the photosensitive drum 2900 is rotating at a constant speed in the direction of the arrow, a planar image is sequentially exposed by the above-described laser beam scanning in the main scanning direction and by constant rotation of the photosensitive drum 2900 in the sub-scanning direction. Prior to exposure, the photosensitive drum 2900 is uniformly charged by a charger 2297, and a latent image is formed by exposing the charged photosensitive member to light. Developing units 2292 to 22 corresponding to a predetermined color contain toners of four colors, yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, respectively, for a latent image based on a predetermined color signal.

The host 300 communicates with the CPU of the control section 3 via the cable 1, the external interface circuit 2 of the interface section 100, and the signal line 11. During communication, the control unit 3 stores compressed data such as fonts in the RAM of the control unit 3, and uses the internal DMAC of the control unit 3 to store uncompressed data on the signal line 12 and the signal line by operating the data switch 4. 13 and transfers image data for each color to each memory 5 to 8 using a control line 14. At that time, if the host 300 side is uncompressed data, Y, M,
The mode (format) of color image data, image data consisting of C, Bk or image data consisting of R, G, B, is selected and the contents of the flag are stored in the RAM of the control section 3.

Data is input/output from 13 signal lines like the others, and the address from control is given via address line 14, and when printing out, it is controlled by a synchronization signal 20. The image processing circuit 9 in the configuration shown in FIG. 7 is shown in FIG. The difference from the image processing circuit shown in FIG. 3 is that font data from a font memory 27 is input to an evaporator 903 and an OR circuit 911 to synthesize fonts and black characters. FIG. 9 is an explanation of the evaporation processing section 903 in the configuration shown in FIG. 7, in which font data can be selected by a multiplexer 912.

きる。(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the present invention includes means for inputting a plurality of color image data representing a color image, and a plurality of storage means for storing the plurality of color image data; Since it is possible to store data different from the color-image data representing the color image in at least one of the plurality of storage means, it is easy to combine, for example, nine graphic characters and the input color image. means for inputting a plurality of color image data in a first mode representing a color image and a plurality of color image data in a second mode whose number is larger than the color image data in the first mode; It has a plurality of storage means for storing color image data, and performs different color processing depending on the mode of the color image data stored in the plurality of storage means. In addition, a plurality of color image data in the first mode that can be used as is for color image recording and a plurality of color image data in the second mode that require predetermined conversion processing for color image recording. a plurality of storage means for storing the plurality of color image data, and a conversion means for performing the predetermined conversion process, and the conversion means is configured to input the color image data read from the storage means. Since a predetermined conversion process is performed on a plurality of color image data in the second mode, it is possible to sufficiently cope with the input of color image data in a mode that cannot be directly used for image recording.
