(Prior Art) A belt that is stretched between rollers and runs endlessly may shift to one side while running, and this may cause it to meander. At present, this is unavoidable because it arises from causes such as tension variations in the width direction of the belt due to the diameter of the roller and slight inclination, and variations in the circumferential length of both sides of the belt in the width direction due to aging of the belt.

Therefore, when a wide transfer belt is stretched between multiple rollers, such as the transfer belt of an electronic copying machine, and is run endlessly while rolling in contact with the photoreceptor, the transfer is caused by the deviation of the transfer belt. One edge of the belt may come off the edge of the roller and come into contact with other mechanisms and be damaged, or one edge of the transfer belt may become wavy and wrinkle, which may have a negative impact on the transfer process. This shortens the life of the transfer belt.

However, the above technology simply deals with the running of a wide endless belt, so even if the above technology is applied to a transfer belt used in an image forming apparatus such as an electronic copying machine, the following problems still occur. It remains as a point.

That is, as shown in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 123627/1983, in an electronic copying machine, a recording paper is conveyed by a transfer belt, and then the recording paper is peeled off from the transfer belt to obtain a copied original. .

Therefore, like a general wide endless belt, it is necessary for the above-mentioned transfer belt that wrinkles do not occur during toner image transfer, and at the same time, it is necessary that the recording paper be well peeled from the transfer belt.

However, if the generation of wrinkles in the endless belt is prevented by using the shift prevention technology described in the above-mentioned publication, which consists of a guide plate and a guide pressure plate, the adhesion between the recording paper and the belt is maintained, and the separation of the two is prevented. There is a risk of it becoming a hindrance. On the other hand, if adhesion is not maintained, that is, if wrinkles occur, the separation between the recording paper and the belt may be successful, but the transfer of the toner image will not be achieved properly, and electronic copying will fail. It has become completely meaningless as a transfer belt for image forming devices such as machines.

[Structure of the Invention] (Means for Solving the Problems) In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides an image forming apparatus that includes a photoreceptor on which an image is formed, and a device that runs endlessly while being in rolling contact with the photoreceptor. A transfer belt stretched between a drive roller and a guide roller, and an opening angle toward the transfer belt on both side edges of the transfer belt immediately before being wound on the winding side of the drive roller. The present invention is characterized in that it includes a regulating plate member which is provided opposite to the L-shape having an acute angle, and whose inner surfaces press downwardly against the upper surfaces of both side edges of the transfer belt.

(Function) According to the present invention, since the L-shaped regulating plate member is provided on the winding side, the generation of wrinkles after the toner image or the like is transferred is prevented. Furthermore, since a waving phenomenon is caused to the belt just before it is wound up, the peelability between the belt and the recording paper is improved.

(Example) The present invention will be described below based on an example shown in the drawings. FIG. 1 shows the basic structure of an electronic copying machine, which is one of the image forming apparatuses employing a belt meandering prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention, and 1 is a main body. On the top of this main body 1 is a document placement table 2.
is provided, which is reciprocated by a drive motor 3 provided within the main body 1. A photoreceptor 4 serving as a charged member that rotates synchronously with the mounting table 2 is pivotally supported approximately at the center of the main body 1 . An exposure system 7 including a lamp 5, a focusing light transmitter 6, etc. is located between the photoreceptor 4 and the original table 2.
is provided to illuminate the original placed on the original placing table 2 and guide the reflected light to the photoreceptor 4 to form an image of the original. A developing device 8, a transfer device 9, a cleaning device 10, and a charging device 11, which will be described later, are arranged in this order along the rotational direction of the photoreceptor 4 from this image forming position. The developing device 8 visualizes the latent image of the document formed on the surface of the photoreceptor 4 by the exposure system 7. The transfer device 9 is for transferring the original toner image formed on the photoconductor 4 onto the copy paper P, and the cleaning device 10 is for removing toner remaining on the surface of the photoconductor 4. Further, at the bottom of the main body 1, there is provided a paper feeding device 14 consisting of a removable cassette for storing copy paper P and a paper feed roller 13 for feeding the copy paper P. Further, the transfer device 9 includes an insulating transfer belt 17 stretched between a drive roller 15 and a guide roller 16. The transfer belt 17 is in contact with a part of the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor 4. Further, a transfer charging device 18 and a cleaning blade 19 are in contact with the transfer belt 17 . Furthermore, a fixing device 20 and a delivery roller 21 are provided on the delivery end side of the transfer belt 17, and the copy paper P onto which the image has been transferred by the transfer device 9 is fixed, and then delivered to the tray 22. ing. Note that 23 is a control device.

Further, to explain the transfer device 9, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the transfer belt 17 is a wide belt approximately equal to the width of the photoreceptor 4, and has a drive roller 15 and a guide roller 16. The rollers are tensioned between the rollers and run endlessly in the direction of the arrow as the drive roller 15 rotates.

Reference numerals 96 and 96 are regulating plates that are regulating members. The regulating plates 96, 96 are installed opposite both side edges of the transfer belt 17 immediately before being wound on the winding side of the transfer belt 17 with respect to the drive roller 15. The regulating plates 96, 96 have an L-shape with an acute opening angle toward the transfer belt 17. Moreover, this regulation plate 96,9
6, the distance between the opposing parts that contact the transfer belt is set slightly narrower than the width of the transfer belt,
The inner surface thereof is adapted to press downwardly against the upper surface of both side edges of the transfer belt 17. With this configuration, the deviation of the transfer belt 17 is regulated by the regulating plates 96, 96 regardless of the thickness of the transfer belt 17.

The important point here is that the toner image is transferred between the photoreceptor 4 and the transfer belt 17, and then the belt 17 is wound around the drive roller 15. When this belt 17 is regulated by the regulating plates 96, 96, its both ends are suddenly pressed downward as described above (see FIG. 3).

However, for the belt 17, this small-scale undulation has a large effect. That is, while the belt 17 has been conveyed to the vicinity of the regulating plates 96, 96 while remaining in close contact with the copy paper P, both ends of the belt 17 are suddenly pressed downward at the regulating plates 96, 96. As a result, the belt 17 is undulated, and the belt 17
The adhesion between the paper and the copy paper P is impaired. This improves at least the releasability of both.
