[Detailed Description of the Invention] It is well known that damage caused by rats increases when there is snowfall because there is less natural food outdoors, and especially when the snow melts, the food stored by rats for overwintering runs out. In order to find food on the ground, trees in orchards and crops that overwinter in fields, such as lily root, etc.
It often causes major damage to asparagus, mulberries, etc.

However, since the behavior of rats under snow has not been sufficiently studied, effective methods for preventing damage under snow are still unknown, and conventional rat poisons cannot be expected to be effective at all in extermination under snow. Nakatsuta. In other words, as a conventional technique, dry poisonous bait that lasts a relatively long time is placed in a waterproof paper pouch and placed under snow, but since the scent of the bait does not leak outside, it does not attract rats.
Because the consumption rate was low, no effect could be obtained. Furthermore, even with a method called ``bait box'' or ``bait station,'' in which poison bait is placed in a waterproof box with an entrance and exit for rats that do not allow water to enter, the effect cannot be sustained until the crucial snow melting season, and water Due to the moisture and moisture, the bait could not be fed or the active ingredient could break down. Furthermore, even if you use rat repellents or surround the damaged crops with wire mesh, if the rats feel hungry, they will dig up the soil and eat the roots, or climb up and eat the branches. It was not possible to prevent the damage. Inspired by the food that rats prefer to store outdoors from autumn to winter, we use raw seeds of plants as the main raw material and mix it with rat poison, giving it water and snow resistance while also making it suitable for the tastes of rats. In order to make a formulation, solid paraffin is blended with a fat having a melting point of 45°C or higher, especially a fat containing 20% or more of stearic acid in terms of fatty acid composition, such as beef tallow, mutton tallow, goat tallow, etc. in a eutectic state. By further mixing seasonings, fragrances, colorants, etc. as necessary, and cooling and molding, we succeeded in developing a rodenticide that can effectively work for a long time under snow.

That is, the present invention mixes and heats 3 to 15 parts by weight of fat with a melting point of 45° C. or higher to 100 parts by weight of solid paraffin to form a eutectic state, and then mixes it with a rat-killing ingredient and a rat's favorite food. This invention relates to a rat repellent that is placed under snow and is made of a block-shaped poisonous bait that has been molded and cooled.

In the present invention, by mixing fat into solid paraffin, it not only has the effect of increasing the eating rate of rats, but also does not reduce ice resistance, and the mixing ratio can be adjusted to 3 to 15% by weight of solid paraffin. The reason for this is that if it is less than 3 parts by weight, the effect cannot be exhibited, and if it is added more than 15 parts by weight, no further effect can be expected, so it is not economical, so it was limited to 15 parts by weight or less.

According to the present invention, for example, as a rat poison, one selected from oxycoumarin, zinc phosphide, thallium sulfate, silyloside, diphacinone, chlorophacinone, etc. is used at an appropriate concentration calculated from the lethal dose of rats. Mix as shown. That is, in the case of oxycoumarin, the concentration is preferably 0.05 to 0.1%, similarly, the concentration is 1 to 3% for zinc phosphide, 0.2 to 0.5% for thallium sulfate, 0.025 to 0.1% for silyloside, and 0.005 to 0.005 for diphacinone and chlorophacinone.

The raw plant seeds used include wheat, barley,
Rice, millet, millet, canary seed, corn, etc. are preferable, and the blending ratio thereof is preferably 0.5 to 1.5 parts by weight per 1 part by weight of the paraffin melt. If the amount is less than 0.5 parts by weight, there is no effect of adding seeds, and if it is added more than 1.5 parts by weight, there is no significant effect, so the amount was limited for economic reasons.

Although grain flour may be used in combination, it is not preferable to include grain flour in an amount of 5% or more of the total amount of poisoned bait, as the water resistance will be poor. Seasonings, fragrances, coloring agents, etc. may be those that are normally used in foodstuffs, such as sugar, monosodium glutamate, inosinic acid, etc.
Particularly used are flavoring agents such as varnish essence, fruit flavorings, cheese dairy products, fragrances, and coloring agents such as oil red nigrosine.

For one to two months after a snowfall, rats mainly eat the food they stored in the fall, but as the snow begins to melt from winter to spring, there is a shortage of food, and the snow begins to melt between the ground and the rats. They create gaps in which they can be active, so they run around in these gaps in search of food on the ground, and in some cases, they travel a considerable distance to enter orchards. If the rodenticide of the present invention is placed on the ground in an effective manner during this period, the rats will eat the rodenticide and die, so it will continue to exterminate rats that have migrated over a long period of time. It has the effect of continuously preventing damage caused by rats, and it was able to completely prevent damage during the snowmelt season, when the damage caused by rats is the greatest and for which there was previously no complete prevention method.

Example 1 Solid paraffin 45 parts by weight Beef tallow 3 Wheat grains 20 Corn grains 10 Canary seeds 17.5 Sugar 3 Chili powder 0.5 Zinc phosphide 1 To make the block poison bait with the above composition, paraffin and beef tallow were heated and melted at a temperature of 80°C. Once cooled, add wheat grains, corn grains, and canary seeds.
Mix at around 50 degrees Celsius, and while continuing to stir, add the mixed powder of zinc phosphide, chili powder, and sugar that has been mixed and ground in advance, stir and mix evenly, and cool down to around 45 degrees Celsius. The mushy mixture is poured into a mold and cooled. Let solidify. In this way, each 20g disc-shaped block is made into poison bait.

After the snowfall in a 3-year-old Waihua apple orchard, I put the above block poison bait into the snow-melting hole next to the tree trunk in late January, and when I used 10 baits per 10 ares, one Waihua apple tree was damaged. It didn't come out. The adjacent apple orchard suffered approximately 20% damage.

After the snow melted the following spring, not a single mulberry tree was damaged, and adjacent gardens suffered an average of 30% damage.

Example 3 Solid paraffin 50 parts by weight Beef tallow 2 Beeswax 2 Barley 20 Raw rice 15 Millet 8 Sugar 2.95 Pigment 0.045 Chlorophacinone 0.005 Mix and heat solid paraffin, beef tallow and beeswax to form a eutectic state and bring the temperature to around 70°C. Once the mixture has cooled down, add all the remaining ingredients and mix. Lower the temperature to around 45-50°C to form a mushy molten mixture, which is then poured into a mold and allowed to cool and solidify. In this way, each 40g round piece is made into a block-shaped poison bait. In the vineyard after the snow had fallen, holes were made in the snow with iron pipes at 10 m intervals up to the ground level, and 1 piece of the above-mentioned block poison bait was placed in each hole. According to an investigation after the snow melted, it was 10 minutes from the point where the block poison bait was placed.
There was no damage to the vines within 100 m, but adjacent vineyards located more than 10 m apart suffered damage of about 10% on average.
