Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the use of the copying machine independently of the time of copying and facsimile transmission by leading an original stacked on a paper feeder section to a read position when the copying mode is selected and leading an original stacked in the opposite direction to that in the copying mode on the paper feeder section to a read position via the reversing section when the facsimile mode is selected. CONSTITUTION:With the copying mode selected, the original to be fed is reversed by a separation roll 30 and sent onto a contact glass 1a by driving a carrier belt 23. Moreover, in case of transmissing the original with the facsimile mode selected, the original is fed to the reversing section 24 by keeping the drive of the carrier belt 23 and lowering the moving stopper 32 downward. Then a changeover claw 34 in the reversing section 24 closed a discharge path and opens the return path to the read position, thereby leading the original to the read position in a way that its transmission face is opposed to the contact glass 1a. Thus, the facsimile equipment is used without any hinderance even in the facsimile mode even with the provision of an optimum automatic original feeder when the copying mode is selected.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention feeds a stack of originals placed in a paper feed section one by one from either the top or bottom sheet to a reading position of a copying machine, The present invention also relates to a copying machine with an automatic document feeder, which inverts a document fed to a reading position via a reversing section and guides the back side of the document to the reading position again.

By the way, copy machines have a machine that allows you to check the copy status, etc.
Most printers eject copies with the copy side facing up.

Therefore, when copying originals arranged in pages using the above-mentioned automatic document feeder, if the pages are copied in descending order, the ejected copies will have the largest pages on top (see Figure 5). (see ). For this reason, it is necessary to rearrange the obtained copies, so automatic document feeders usually feed and copy pages in descending order of size (see FIG. 5(b)).

By the way, so-called digital copying machines that combine a reading device and a laser printer are known. Although there has never been an example of this type of copying machine, it is possible to use it as a facsimile by installing a modem. If a copying machine is equipped with a facsimile function, a problem arises in that the above-mentioned automatic document feeding device that feeds original documents is not suitable for use as a facsimile. In other words, in the case of facsimile, a cover sheet is often sent informing the receiver of the sender, the number of sheets to be sent, and the addressee in advance. If sent in the same way as a copy machine, there is a problem that the cover letter will be sent last. . Moreover, the receiver side of the facsimile normally ejects the paper from the back side, and for this reason, (d) in Figure 5
As shown in the figure, the receiving side does not become a page type. Therefore, in the case of facsimiles, it is preferable that the automatic document feeder feeds pages in ascending order as shown in FIG. Until now, there has been no such thing.

To achieve this purpose, the present invention provides that the copying machine itself has a facsimile function, and when the copy mode is selected, the document placed in the paper feed section in a predetermined orientation is guided to the reading position, and the facsimile mode is selected. This was achieved by guiding the document placed in the paper feed section in the opposite direction to the copy mode to the reading position via the reversing section.

以下、本発明の実施例を添付図面に従って説明する。Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

When the start key SW1 of the copying machine 1 shown in FIG. 2 is pressed, the pinch roller 27 and the calling roller 28 come into contact with each other, and when the conveyance motor (not shown) is then turned on, the document is fed. When a large number of originals are fed, the separation belt 29 and the separation roller 30 work together to feed only the original that is in contact with the separation roller 30, that is, the last page of the original. The fed document is reversed by the separation rollers 30 and placed in the register.
The document passes through the document width detection 31 and is sent onto the contact glass 1a by the conveyance belt 23. Immediately after the document hits the movable stop claw 32, the conveyance belt 23 stops running, and the document is positioned at the reading position, where it is image exposed.

Although preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments and can be modified in various ways. For example, in the above embodiment, the automatic document feeder reverses the document set on the document table and sends it to the conveyor belt along separation rollers, but the document is not reversed starting from the topmost document set on the document table. It can also be applied to a copying machine equipped with an automatic document feeder that transports original documents.
