(Industrial Field of Application) The present invention relates to a conductive ink composition, particularly to a conductive ink composition useful for electrical thermal transfer type ink ribbons. (Prior Art) In recent years, ink ribbons used in printing devices such as word processors and typewriters are made of synthetic resins such as polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene with corona discharge treatment on the surface, polyimide, and polycarbonate. 1.5
~3000~10000μm on one side of ultra-thin film of ~9μm
A film with a total thickness of 10 to 30 μm is wrapped around a bobbin, with conductive ink gravure coated through a layer of aluminum vapor deposited on the other side, and a transfer layer made of transfer ink through a release layer on the other side. , those built into cartridges are widely used. However, since the base material of this product is the ultra-thin plastic film mentioned above, wrinkles tend to occur in the film when applying gravure coating.
Once wrinkles occur, there are disadvantages such as the film being folded during winding, uneven winding, which may cause the print head to jam during use, and the ribbon to sag, resulting in inaccurate printing. Additionally, for this ink ribbon, in order to transfer heat to the transfer layer via a heat-blocking layer, it is necessary to apply conductive ink to a thickness of 4 μm or more using a multi-layer coating method to increase heat capacity. Gravure printing using conductive ink is relatively difficult because it requires heat resistance and stiffness of the ribbon, and it also requires good smoothness to reduce wear caused by head friction. Coarse, for example #80
Attempts have been made to apply a thick coat (about 120 μm) at a time, but in this case, grains tend to appear on the plate and the surface becomes rough, causing the heads to touch each other during printing, or when the ribbon is fed. When the head hits the ribbon, wrinkles are likely to occur and the film is likely to fold, making it impossible to increase the printing speed, which is a disadvantage. If this is done in multiple stages, the surface condition of each coated layer will change as the ink dries. Since each conductive ink is different, the surface condition of the conductive ink cannot be controlled, resulting in the drawback that the ribbon feeding speed must be limited. Therefore, with this conductive ink, it is possible to apply a thick coat in one coat, and the coated film is strong, has good heat resistance, and has an excellent surface smoothness. Although it is desired, nothing like this has been proposed yet. (Structure of the Invention) The present invention relates to a conductive ink composition which does not have the above-mentioned disadvantages, and which comprises a) 100 parts by weight of a saturated polyester resin, b) 20 to 50 parts by weight of carbon black, and c) a polyester resin. Isocyanate 10
d) 10 to 40 parts by weight of a bisphenol A type epoxy resin, and e) 200 to 500 parts by weight of a solvent. That is, the present inventors conducted various studies on conductive ink compositions that are suitable for electrical thermal transfer type ink ribbons used in printing devices, and found that
If this is made of the above-mentioned composition, by using the saturated polyester resin as the a) component together with the polyisocyanate as the c) component, and the bisphenol type epoxy resin as the d) component, the surface of the ink can be improved. We discovered that the increased hardness makes the film strong, that it can be applied to a thickness of, for example, 9 μm in one coat, and that it has excellent smoothness. The present invention was completed after confirming that the addition of carbon black as the component (b) results in excellent conductivity, making it useful as an electrically conductive thermal transfer type ink ribbon. As the saturated polyester resin as component a) constituting the conductive ink composition of the present invention, for example, the general formula Modified ether-type products with a molecular weight of 15,000 to 25,000: Staphyx P-LC [product name manufactured by Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.], Byron 2000 [product name manufactured by Toyobo Co., Ltd.], Elitel LE-3200 [Unitika (product name)] Co., Ltd. product name]
From the viewpoint of fluidity and hardness, Staphyx P-LC is particularly preferred. Furthermore, carbon black as component b) constituting the composition of the present invention is used to impart conductivity and heat generation properties to the target ink composition, but this is different from conventionally known acetylene black, furnace black, etc. It may be selected from black, butt-embroidered black, etc. Although the particle size of this ink composition is arbitrary, it is preferable that the average particle size be 20 to 100 .mu.m in order to make the ink composition have good carbon black dispersibility and fluidity.
The amount of carbon black to be added is preferably such that the target ink composition has an electrical conductivity of 0.5 to 10 Ωcm, so it should be added to 100 parts by weight of the saturated polyester resin as component a) above. The preferred range is 25 to 35 parts by weight. Next, the polyisocyanate as component c) constituting this composition is for converting the saturated polyester resin as component a) into a modified polyurethane resin, and has the formula

Note that the amount of this polyisocyanate added is based on the saturated polyester resin as component a) described above.
If it is less than 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight, the intended tensile strength of the ink will not improve and it will become brittle, and if it is more than 40 parts by weight, it will be ineffective and will instead reduce the tensile strength of the ink. Therefore, it is required to be in the range of 10 to 40 parts by weight, but the preferred range is 20 to 30 parts by weight. Further, the bisphenol A type epoxy resin as component d) constituting this composition is used to make the target ink composition excellent in heat resistance and to impart stiffness to it. but,
These include commercially available Epicote 1004 [trade name, manufactured by Yuka Ciel Co., Ltd., molecular weight 1600], Epicote 1001
A solid type with a molecular weight of 500 to 4000, such as [product name manufactured by the same company, molecular weight 900], is preferred.
If the amount of this bisphenol A type epoxy resin added is less than 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the saturated polyester resin as component a), the heat resistance and stiffness of the ink composition will not be improved sufficiently. Therefore, if the amount exceeds 40 parts by weight, the target ink will become hard and brittle, causing cracking and peeling phenomena during winding.
The preferred range is 15 to 30 parts by weight. Next, the solvent as component e) that constitutes this composition is one that dissolves or suspends the above-mentioned components a) to d) to form a liquid ink composition.
Any material that dissolves or suspends components a) to d) may be used, and examples thereof include toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, carbinol acetate, and cellosolve acetate, but even a mixture thereof may be used. good. The amount of component e) used is based on the solid content of components a) to d) above.
Contains ~35% by weight, viscosity at 25℃ is ~100
Since it is preferable to form a liquid product with a yield of 1000 cps, preferably 350 to 500 cps, the amount should be in the range of 200 to 500 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the saturated polyester resin as component a). The preferred range is 250 to 350 parts by weight. The conductive ink composition of the present invention has the above-mentioned a) to
It can be obtained by uniformly mixing a predetermined amount of component e), but in this mixing, the saturated polyester resin as component a) and the solvent as component e) are mixed, and d) A mixture of a bisphenol A type epoxy resin as a component and a solvent as a component e) is mixed, then carbon black as a component b) is mixed therein, and then an isocyanate as a component c) is mixed therein. Good. The ink composition of the present invention thus obtained has a conductivity of 0.5 to 100 by adding component b).
It is said to be Ωcm, and it becomes a heating element when an electric current is passed through it, so it can be used for electrical thermal transfer type ink ribbons. As bisphenol A type epoxy resin is added, the ink ribbon coated with this ink has excellent heat resistance, smoothness, and stiffness, and this ink can be applied thickly in one coat. As a result, even if the film is thin, this ink ribbon does not wrinkle or fold during winding, coating and drying, aging, or printing, making it possible to significantly increase printing speed. This gives you an advantage. Next, examples of the present invention will be given, and parts in the examples indicate parts by weight. Example 100 parts of modified ether-type polyester resin Stafix P-LC (described above) with a molecular weight of 20,000 and a mixed solvent of toluene/methyl ethyl ketone = 1/1
After adding 160 parts of the mixture and uniformly kneading it at 25°C for 1 hour using a kneader, add 25 parts of bisphenol A type epoxy resin Epicoat 1004 (mentioned above) to 160 parts of a mixed solvent of toluene/methyl ethyl ketone = 1/1.
% and kneaded for 1 hour at 25℃ using a kneader, and then added acetylene black to this.
After adding 30 parts and kneading for 1 hour at 25°C using a kneader, add 18 parts of Polyisocyanate Coronate L (mentioned above) and kneading for another 1 hour at 25°C to obtain conductivity. A color ink composition was prepared. Next, this conductive ink composition was applied to a 6 μm thick polyethylene terephthalate film on which commercially available aluminum had been vapor-deposited to a thickness of 3000 μm, using a #110 application roll to give a film thickness of 8 μm.
After direct gravure printing so that ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer,
A thermal transfer ink ribbon was made by applying a transfer ink consisting of ester wax, pigment, and toluene to a thickness of 4 μm, and its smoothness was examined using the JIS method, and it was found to be less than 1 μm, indicating excellent smoothness. It was confirmed that Next, the ink ribbon obtained in this way was used on an English typewriter/Quite Writer (IBM, USA).
When we printed 100,000 characters using the ink ribbon (trade name), this was due to the ink ribbon becoming stiff, the conductive ink composition adhering to the head, resulting in a decrease in print quality, and the conductive ink layer being damaged. No burning occurred, and the conductive ink layer was durable. However, for comparison, the ink composition described above was treated in the same manner as above except that Epicoat 1004 was omitted, and the ink ribbon obtained by coating this in the same manner as above was obtained. When examining the gender and strength of the hips, this smoothness was found to be
3 μm, and when printing with an English typewriter equipped with this typewriter, the print quality deteriorates approximately once in 1000 times due to the adhesion of the conductive composition to the head, and the ink ribbon often becomes stuck to the head. This caused the ink ribbon to break and the conductive ink layer to burn out.
