A fan coil unit installed in the passenger compartment of an air conditioner installed in a construction vehicle, etc. has a height, width, and depth that depends on the dimensions of the passenger compartment, which is a narrow space, and does not require a compact structure. Inevitably, it is common that the suction inlet and outlet are opened in the horizontal direction, front to back, right and left, for example, the structure disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 58-161719. A cooler 4 and a fan 5 are disposed within a casing 1 having a suction port 2 and a blowout port 3 opened in the horizontal direction.

[See FIG. 5] In this case, it is a common practice to provide a drain pan 7 to catch the drain generated when dehumidifying in the cooler 4, and this is a well-known structure. However, since one end of the drain pan 7 is extended to the vicinity of the outlet 3, it has a double structure consisting of the bottom plate 9 of the casing 1 and the extension plate of the drain pan 7, and dew drops are generated on the lower surface of the extension plate. Because of this problem, the one shown in Figure 5 connects the drain discharge pipe 16 to the bottom plate 9 of the casing 1.
By facing the drain port 17 of the drain pan 7 into the drain discharge pipe 16, the drain pan 7
The drain inside and the dew that has fallen onto the bottom plate 9 are collected in the drain discharge pipe 16 and can be discharged.

In the conventional structure described above, there is a risk that the drain blown from the cooler 4 may collect on the extension plate of the drain pan 7 near the outlet 3, and if a certain amount or more accumulates, it will overflow to the outlet 3 side, and this overflowing drain will be deposited on the bottom plate. Although it is conceivable that the air may fall onto the air, a part of it may fly out together with the blown air. In view of the fact that there are such problems in practical use, the present invention has been made in an attempt to provide a vehicle air conditioner with a new structure that can eliminate these drawbacks. By connecting an auxiliary drain discharge pipe to the bottom plate of the casing separately from the drain discharge pipe connected to the drain pan, drain can be collected reliably and prevented from being discharged into the passenger compartment. be.

[4b] is connected to a condensing unit equipped with a compressor, a condenser, etc. (not shown) through refrigerant piping, and low-pressure liquid refrigerant is supplied to the fan 5. The system exchanges latent heat of vaporization with the flowing air generated by the refrigerant, cooling the flowing air and converting it into cold air, while sending the evaporated refrigerant back to the condensing unit. The interior of the vehicle is cooled by sending out the cold air from the outlet 3. Note that the cooler 4 is provided at a position before the airflow outlet 3 where the air flow turns approximately at right angles. On the other hand, the heating coil 6 is connected to the engine jacket through a water pipe in parallel with the radiator, and when heating operation is required, hot water is diverted to the heating coil 6 to supply the flowing air. It is now possible to heat the In FIG. 1, reference numeral 11 denotes a damper for switching between cooling and heating, which is in a state where the opening surface on the air inflow side of the heating coil 6 is closed.

It is arranged in the casing 1 so that it can be switched to [the state shown by the broken line]. In FIGS. 2 and 4, reference numeral 12 denotes an outside air intake damper, which is attached to an outside air intake port 13 that opens on the side perpendicular to the suction port 2, and this outside air intake port 13 is opened. , is provided so as to be swingable so that it can be closed. The fan coil unit having the above-mentioned structure is provided with a drain pan 7. This drain pan 7 is placed horizontally directly below the cooler 4 to receive moisture in the flowing air taken by the cooler 4, that is, drain. It has become possible to stop it. The drain pan 7 has a drain outlet that passes through the bottom plate 9 of the casing 1 in an airtight manner and connects this drain outlet to a drain outlet pipe 8 provided in the casing 1, so that the contained drain can be immediately drained out of the unit. I'm starting to get it. Thus the cooler 4 at the bottom of the casing 1
A bottom plate 9 which also serves as a drain receptacle is attached to a portion located below the heating coil 6 and the heating coil 6, and an auxiliary drain discharge pipe 10 which is independent from the drain discharge pipe 8 is connected to this bottom plate 9. casing 1
It is pulled outward. The location of the auxiliary drain discharge pipe 10 is selected to be directly below the portion of the bottom plate 9 where the cold air velocity changes to the decreasing side, that is, a location that is not easily affected by the wind velocity of the flowing air. ,
In the illustrated example, when the cooling/heating switching damper 11 is operated for cooling along the opening surface of the air inflow side of the heating coil 6, the cold air that has passed through the cooler 4 hits the damper 11 and changes direction by approximately 90 degrees. Therefore, it is connected to the bottom plate 9 in front of the air outlet 3 at a point where the speed decreases. The structure of the illustrated example is as described above, but in the figure,
14 is a fan motor, and 15 is an operation panel having operation levers, switches, etc. for operating various devices for cooling/heating operation as well as the two dampers 11 and 12 mentioned above. The device configured as described above is a cooling/heating switching damper 11.
is operated to the cooling side shown by the solid line in FIG. 1, and the outside air intake damper 12 is operated to the closing side shown by the solid line in FIG. The moist water flows down the heat exchange surface of the fan, is received by the drain pan 7, and is quickly discharged through the drain discharge pipe 8. At this time, a part of the drain is blown forward by the flowing air generated by the fan 5. This is because if the cooler 4 is not of the so-called cross fin type but has corrugated fins arranged so that the surface is mainly horizontal as shown in the example shown, the drain will flow down the fins and continue downward. In order not to fall, the drain is particularly likely to be blown away. For this reason, although there is blown drain on the bottom plate 9 of the casing 1 between the drain pan 7 and the outlet 3, it is quickly discharged outside the casing 1 through the auxiliary drain discharge pipe 10 connected to the bottom plate 9. can be discharged. As mentioned above, the auxiliary drain discharge pipe 10 is
Since it is installed in a location facing the area where the wind speed of the flowing air is decreasing, it prevents the collected drain from being blown away by the air current again, or the high temperature outside air being drawn into the room through the drain auxiliary pipe 10. No such inconvenience will occur. Therefore, even if the wind speed is increased in order to improve the circulation ability of cold air, the space from the cooler 4 to the outlet 3 is made wide and the drain pan 7 is designed to prevent the drain scattered inside the casing 1 from flying out from the outlet 3. It is possible to form a small structure, and furthermore, the scattered drain can be reliably collected.

The present invention uses a drain discharge pipe 8 of a drain pan 7 having a compact enough shape to receive the drain falling from the cooler 4, and an auxiliary drain discharge pipe 10 connected to a predetermined location on the bottom plate 9 of the casing 1. It is possible to reliably collect and discharge drain scattered on the inner bottom plate 9 of the casing 1,
It has a simple structure and can easily increase drain recovery.
