(Industrial Application Field) This invention is used in continuous casting of molten metal to maintain airtightness at the joint between a ladle collector nozzle and a long nozzle or a tundish collector nozzle and an immersion nozzle. This relates to a seal body for a nozzle joint. (Prior Art) In an example of continuous casting of molten metal, the ladle - before the molten metal in the ladle is poured into the mold.
The route is long nozzle - tundish - immersion nozzle - mold. The molten metal in the ladle is injected into the tundish with air shielded by a long nozzle connected to a collector nozzle fixed to the bottom of the ladle via a packing seal. The same applies to the case of injecting from the tundish into the mold, and the immersion nozzle is connected to the collector nozzle fixed to the bottom of the tundish via the packing seal. In the continuous casting method, molten metal in a ladle is usually injected multiple times using one long nozzle. To replace the ladle, move the long nozzle that was connected to the collector nozzle downward to separate it from the empty ladle, replace it with the ladle filled with the next casting molten metal, and replace it with a new ladle. The process consists of a series of operations in which the long nozzle is connected to the ladle collector nozzle via a seal, and casting is restarted. The same applies to the case of a submerged nozzle. It is desirable that these replacement operations be carried out smoothly and appropriately in as short a time as possible. As for the conventional seal body, the way to set it (seal body) is to attach a seal to the top (junction) of the long nozzle when the long nozzle is separated from the ladle when replacing the ladle. The method used was to set the seal body and then connect it to the collector nozzle of the ladle. However, in this case, there were various problems described below. 1. Since it is set on a long nozzle that is red-hot, there is a high risk of burns to the worker during work. 2. In the case of a sealing body made of a material containing an organic binder, it will ignite before connection, making it difficult to confirm the connection position with the collector nozzle at the time of connection, and causing center deviation. 3. If the seal body ignites, as time passes,
As ashing progresses, the quality of the slab is adversely affected by the loss of sealing performance and the long nozzle life. 4. Since the seal body is set on the long nozzle before connecting the long nozzle to the ladle, the time taken during this time becomes a loss time when replacing the ladle, which is likely to cause a failure in opening the ladle when pouring molten metal during casting. 5. Depending on the layout of the continuous casting equipment, installing the seal body into the long nozzle may be extremely dangerous for the worker.
Not recommended for safety. 6 Depending on the material and shape of the packing material, after the seal body is set on the long nozzle, the packing material may shift at the connection point to the ladle due to vibration, etc., and if it is connected as is, it may cause an air leak. There is danger. (Technical Issues) The present invention was made in order to solve the problems described above, and it involves integrally molding an object with adhesive properties on one side of the sealing body for packing to provide sufficient adhesive strength. The technical challenge is to enable attachment to the ladle collector nozzle and improve the workability and sealing performance of the set. (Technical Means) The present invention was made to solve the above technical problem, and specifically, it uses an epoxy adhesive, a modified rubber latex adhesive, or an industrial double-sided tape (for example, Sekisui Double Tack Tape #5701). etc. are coated or affixed to the surface of the molded seal body to form an integral body, so that it has sufficient adhesive strength to prevent the seal body from falling off when used on the joint surface, and when used. To provide a sealing body for a nozzle joint for continuous casting, which can be set in a collector nozzle of a ladle or tundish with one touch. Next, this invention will be explained in detail with reference to the drawings below. First, 1 is a sealing body, and examples of the materials of the sealing body 1 include 85 parts by weight of alumina powder, 12 parts by weight of kaolin clay powder, ceramic fiber (47% by weight of alumina as aggregate, 52.5% by weight of silica,
After thoroughly mixing 3 parts by weight of a material containing 0.5% by weight of other impurities, with an average fiber diameter of 2.8 μm and a fiber length ma x 250 m/m, a vinyl acetate resin was added and kneaded. The thus obtained raw material for the sealing body 1 for packing is molded using a pressure roller and dried in a dry atmosphere at 30° C. for 72 hours, resulting in the true sealing body 1. . Thereafter, one side of the sealing body 1 is coated or pasted with an epoxy adhesive, a modified rubber latex adhesive, or a double-sided tape such as Sekisui Double Tack Tape #5701. That is, as shown in Figures 1 to 3 of the drawings, an adhesive 2 is held on one side of a seal body 1 of various shapes. Note that FIG. 1 shows the case of a ladle collector nozzle 3 and a long nozzle 4, and FIG. 2 shows the case of a tundish collector nozzle 5 and an immersion nozzle 6, respectively. (Effects of the invention) Because of the configuration described above, this invention can solve the problems that could not be avoided with conventional sealing bodies or adhesives (mortar, etc.). That is, by adhesively setting the sealing body on the collector nozzle side in advance, each of the above-mentioned conventional problems 1) to 6) is solved, and compared to the conventional setting work, the time and effort is saved, and one-touch setting becomes possible. Furthermore, drying after setting is no longer necessary, which directly leads to an improvement in the operating rate of the ladle. In addition, when the seal body for seals of this invention was actually used in a long nozzle, as mentioned above, the workability was significantly improved and damage to the joint surface was greatly suppressed, so it was discarded after 7 to 8 times. The long nozzle can now be used 9 to 11 times. Also, regarding sealing performance, we compared it with the conventional method.
The following results were obtained by varying the amount of N 2 picked up.

This is a comparison of the sealing properties of the conventional method and the product of the present invention. The N 2 concentration was measured by the thermal conduction method using the N 2 concentration of the molten steel sampled from the ladle (LD) and the N 2 concentration of the molten steel sampled from the tundish (TD). The measured value shows the average value obtained by subtracting the N 2 concentration of the molten steel in the ladle (LD) of the same casting from the N 2 concentration of the molten steel in the tundice (TD) in eight castings. As described above, by using the packing seal of the present invention, it is possible to significantly improve workability, ensure work safety, improve the quality, stability, and yield of slabs, and improve refractory production. This provides extremely large overall effects such as life extension.
