Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、スチームアイロンに於ける水タンク
の構造に関するものである。
近年スチームアイロンに於ける水タンクは従来
のステンレス製タンクから、機能性の向上と、生
産性の向上を計る為にプラスチツク製タンクに移
行しつつあり、このプラスチツク製の水タンクの
場合は、タンク中の水量が見やすいように透明化
出来又、操作しやすいように軽量化出来る。更に
多量生産が容易である等の利点がある。
このプラスチツク製の水タンクは、従来に於て
例えばタンクの上側と下側の2ケを射出成形し、
これを溶着又は接着剤等で接合し、水タンクを形
成しているがタンクの上下の接合は、接着剤によ
る接合より、信頼性と、生産性に於いて、優れて
いる超音波や、熱板等による溶着が採用され、こ
の溶着に於て、従来は、タンク上側と、タンク下
側の溶着面の形状は第1図に示すような平板状の
形状で、溶着後は、第2図に示すように、溶着部
11がタンク上側7とタンク下側8の端部より突
出して、外観上見苦しい等の欠点があつた。
本発明は前記欠点を解決したもので、熱可塑性
樹脂製のタンク上とタンク下の先端に各々先細り
部を形成し、該先細り部を当接し、かつ熱溶着し
てできる溶着部をその先細り部で形成する空間部
内に収納させた構造にすることにより、溶着部
が、タンク上、下の側面より突出する事なく、外
観上美しく、タンクが形成出来る画期的なスチー
ムアイロンを提供することが出来る。
以下本発明を示す一実施例について、具体的に
説明する。
第5図は、プラスチツクの水タンクを有するス
チームアイロンの断面図である。
図に於て、1はヒーターを内蔵するベースでス
チーム室2が形成されている。ベース1の上に
は、耐熱性を有する例えばフエノール樹脂又は、
クロムメツキを施した鉄板等で形成した遮熱板3
があり、更にその上には、水タンク4が設けられ
ている。この水タンク4の先端には、水の注排水
口5が設けられている。この水タンク4の後方又
は上方にはアイロンの握手6が設けられている。
このように、水タンク4は、外部から見やすいよ
うに露出している。更に水タンク4は、タンク上
側7とタンク下側8とから形成されている。図3
は、本発明のタンク上側7と、タンク下側8との
接合前の要部断面図で、第4図は、本発明によ
る、タンク上側7とタンク下側8との接合後の要
部断面図である。そのタンク上7及びタンク下8
の先端には各々先細り部10が形成され、それら
の先細り部10を溶融後、当接せしめ冷却される
ことで溶着部11を形成せしめ、その溶着部11
はタンク上7及びタンク下8の端部とその端部に
更に設けてある先細り部10とで形成される空間
部12よりも小さく形成され、その空間部12内
に収納する如く設けてある。
次に本発明による動作を示す。
水タンク4のタンク上側7とタンク下側8との
先端に設けてある先細り部10を、超音波や熱板
によつて、各々を溶ゆうさせ、その先細り部10
を当接し更に加圧すると、図4の示す如く、タン
ク上側7とタンク下側8との先細り部10は、溶
着し、溶着部11を形成する。このとき、溶ゆう
したプラスチツクは、前述の如く、溶ゆうプラス
チツクの溶着部11の方が、タンク上側7とタン
ク下側8の間に形成される空間部12より少ない
為に、タンクの溶着部11が、タンク上側7及び
タンク下側8の端部より突出する事がなく、外観
的に美くしくタンク4を形成する事ができる。
以上の如く、本発明は接合されるタンク上・下
に先細り部を設け、その先細り部を熱溶着するこ
とにより、タンクの外観形状が一段とすつきりし
て、商品性に於て優れた、機能的なスチームアイ
ロンを提供する事ができる等の有益なものであ
る。

明を示すスチームアイロンの一実施例の水タンク

断面図、第5図は本発明のスチームアイロンの一

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 熱可塑性樹脂製のタンク上7とタンク下8を
    溶着して水タンク4を形成するスチームアイロン
    に於て、該タンク上7及びタンク下8の先端に
    各々先細り部10を形成し、該先細り部10を当
    接し、かつ熱溶着してできる溶着部11を該タン
    ク上7およびタンク下8とその先端に形成してい
    る先細り部10とで形成する空間部12より小さ
    くした事を特徴とするスチームアイロン。
